Erica chuckled at what she said, as if she was laughing at a joke.

Molly's gaze darkened as she couldn't help but say, "Since it's locked, there's no need to clean it. After all, you're working as a clerk, not a janitor—"

"Grandma," Hannah interrupted her calmly.

Her tone was perfectly composed as she shook her head gently at Molly.

Thus, Molly swallowed her displeasure and ceased her words.

Erica didn't notice Molly's reaction. Maybe she was too nervous or alarmed to notice.

Her hands were intertwined together, and she couldn't help herself from fumbling her fingers.

As she fixated her gaze on the ground, she continued in a shrill voice, "It's fine, really! We usually just clean up whenever we can. I'm grateful to Ms. Emerson for giving me this chance, so I wanted to do as much as I can … I'm really happy when I get to clean."

If she really meant her gratitude, why would she insist on going somewhere that obviously didn't welcome any visitors?
