Hannah did not refuse Diana's friendly invite.

So, when the weekend arrived, Darren, who had deliberately brought work home, discovered that Hannah looked like she was about to go out.

"Hannah, do you have plans today?" he calmly asked, looking down.

"Are you not going to be home today?" Naomi widened her eyes in disappointment.

"I thought I could spend the day with you! I always feel more motivated to study when you're around."

"I made plans to have afternoon tea with Ms. Sorsby. I probably won't be back for dinner," Hannah said.

Naomi suddenly sat up with her lips pursed. "Hannah, do you want me to accompany you?"

She had figured it out a long time ago. These people were all after Hannah! Naomi was ready to defend Hannah at all costs!

Hannah hesitated for a moment. "Maybe next time."

She usually didn't mind bringing her younger siblings along. But with Diana clearly in a bad mood due to her recent breakup, it would be awkward to bring someone else along.
