The friends observed Marco a little suspiciously and asked him what he was up to; they noticed that something was not right because one of them proposed to stay in the garden all night to talk about trivial things; however, Marco refused the idea.

-It's a good thing I managed to throw them off the scent. -He boasted, celebrating his victory.

At the agreed time he went out to the garden, but the girl never appeared, the minutes were running like a gazelle, but there was no trace of her.
