ROWAN

“That son of a bitch!” I snarl out loud.

They know each other, they just have to.

I remember seeing the man approach Louis with surprise and Louis reacting to him before Turning away.

But the man kept tagging along, speaking to him but Louis never turned back.

He didn't turn back because he knew I was at the control room.

“Damn it!” I snap as I get to my feet, ready to confront him but before I reach the door, a knock sound on it before swinging open and Alden walks in.

“Alden!” I exclaim. “You are here. Good, just the man I needed to see,” I say beige heading back to my desk.

“Is there a problem, Guia?” he Al's as he approaches me.

“I don't know yet,” I answer as I get a pen and paper and begin scribbling on it. “But I need you to head back to two and meet Lincoln, our contact. Do you remember him?”

“Yes, he was the one who got you into the security control room,” he answers.

“Exactly. Give him this. Tell him it is urgent,” I say as I hand him the paper.

Are you okay? Are you hurt?”She shakes her head in the negative, her eyes never leaving Louis’s prowling form.“That is enough, Louis,” I call out to him. “She is okay.”He huffs in response before walking away. Out of the corner of my eyes, I see one of the gathered wolves hand him a park of slacks.Turning back to the girl, I focus my attention

VIKTOR.“Let's talk about your wolf.”I should have expected that..There was just no way she could have ignored my wolf. Not with how sharp and astute she is.“Okay,” I say as I follow her toward one of the enclosures in the building, giving us a semblance of privacy. “What about it?”“It is huge.”“Okay…”“Bigger than normal. The only wolf I have seen come close to that size is mine, and I am not exaggerating.”What?! There is no way.I am a large wolf, huge as she so aptly said. When training, I tower even over Andre, my beta by almost two feets. How can she say she is close to me?“That… that is impressive.”“I know. Normal, average wolves don't have that size. The closest I have seen a warrior wolf come close is three feets short of what you are.”“if you say so.”“Don't play games, louis. Not today. I am exhausted.”“Fine. What do you want to know?”“What is your status?”“How an i-”“Every wolf has a semblance or an idea of where they fall into. Where do you fall into?”Damn.

VIKTOR.She really, really wasn't kidding when she said her wolf was huge.At the very same height as me, with power rolling off those muscles, she might actually stand a chance against me.Okay.Maybe this would be fun.Lisa then walks into the middle of the field, taking her position between us as she addresses the crowd and us.“Okay, listen up!” she starts. “This is a friendly match. It ends when the other opponent taps out or in this case, yields. No drawing of blood. No kill move. Are we clear?”I make a movement with my head while Rowan wags her tail in agreement.“Okay, then. Let the match begin!”Before I can even blink, I see Rowan’s wolf charging at me, the ground trembling with the force of her paws.I get out of the way a split second before she runs into me.Whirling around, I see her wolf skid to a stop, gathering dust before turning back to me.This time, when she charges, I meet her head on.We collide into a mess of limbs, snarling at each other as we try to get a fi

I can come back later?”“Nah, we are done here,” she insists as she walks out of the door. For a few seconds, we just stare at each other, neither of us saying a word before he blinks and clears his throat.“I uh… that was a… a good fight. I am impressed,” he comments.“Hmm, same here. I am convinced that you are an Alpha. Which means you have to get your memories as soon as possible.”“Hmm? Why?”“Because you have a pack who might be going out of their mind searching for you. The last thing the Coalition needs is an attack from one of you guys.”“Right, that makes sense,” he says quietly before approaching the desk. “I am actually here to… apologize?”Apologize?“Why? Did they come together to attack us and have a falling out? If so, then their packs should not be fighting with each other now. Or did they just meet coincidentally in that field?”“That seems unlikely.”“We need to capture one of them and question them,” I say.“While I can see the reason f

I watch as Louis flashes bright red as he sees me, probably figuring out that I heard him and Lisa has a cheeky smile on her face.Yeah, I am not going to hear the last of it tonight.“Mummy” Jhenelle cries as she crashes into my legs. “Did you hear what Louis said? He likes you mummy!”Sure, scream it out loud. Why don't you?“Did I not ground you today, lady? ROWAN“Mummy looks like a princess!”I laugh at the remark as I stand in front of the full-length mirror, fingers trailing over the delicate fabric of my mating dress. The soft white folds cling to my body like a second skin, flowing down in elegant waves to pool around my feet. The intricate gold embroidery along the bodice and hem catches the soft light, making it glimmer like stars across a night sky. The dress is modeled after ancient Greek designs, and yet it feels uniquely mine, as if it were made for this exact moment. Which it was.“You are right,” Lisa tells Jhenells as she adjusts the waist, while Rina’s fussing over my hair, placing small white flowers into the delicate braids. “But a queen instead. You are the princess.”Kaylee stands off to the side, smiling at me like she already knows what I am thinking.“You look... perfect, Rowan,” she says softly, her eyes filled with warmth. “Viktor won’t know what hit him.”I let out a small laugh, a nervous tremble in my chest

I drive him to the ground, snarling, biting, desperate to tear out his throat. But he fights back just as viciously, his teeth sinking into my shoulder with a brutal snap. The pain is white-hot, but I don’t feel it. Not really.

Sitting here, waiting for others to find her, is not an option. It just will not work."No," I say louder now, my throat tight as I turn to face him. "No, Viktor. You do not understand.
