"I'm sorry."

Before Jace even realized it, the words had slipped out of his mouth, but he did not find them inappropriate.

Sage had taken care of him for three years, but there was not a day when he had actually cared for her. He had even hurt her for another woman. Hence, he did owe her an apology.

Those two words startled Sage.

Sage knew Jace like the back of her hand. She knew that he was short-tempered and stubborn. It was definitely strange for him to suddenly apologize to her.
