Wolves were spotted often in that forest; police assumed that the body had been taken away by the wolves. Since they had only managed to find some torn fabric along with some blood stains that had proven to be Sage's after the DNA test, they concluded their search.

Leah could not and would not believe that. She almost flipped the whole forest inside out looking for Sage; she wanted to see the body with her own eyes, dead or alive.

Leah's feet were filled with wounds and blisters. She eventually passed out in the forest due to a high fever from the infections that were festering in the wounds.
