CHAPTER 107

William and I kept talking about random events that had occurred in each other's lives, our conversation flowed smoothly before the ensuing silence as we glanced up at the moon from our respective places in the pool. I glanced at William before looking down at the water as a thought popped into my head.

“What?” William asks and I raise my eyes to him.

“Nothing,” I say, trying to keep my face neutral so he won’t suspect me, which seemed hard seeing as I was a bit tipsy so my face was stuck in a literal grin. The wine bottle finished a while back and I went in to get another for the both of us.

“Your blank face isn’t working.” He says in a slightly amused tone. “Your grin is a dead giveaway, what do you have going on in your head?”

“Nothing,” I say without missing a beat. The playful grin on my face only widened as I kicked my feet in the water, sending a splash in William’s direction, spraying him with the splashes.
