She burst out laughing. "It doesn't matter. Your apology doesn't mean anything to me. No amount of apologies can alter the words you have spoken. Once said, they remain unchanged and cannot be retracted no matter how many times you seek forgiveness."

"What else do you need to explain?" she stepped away. "I know that Amethyst is better than me, and you don't need to rub that in. I know my place in your life.
