Chapter Thirty-Nine: Bitter-Sweet

RUBY was not mistaken in her thoughts. Because each passing day, Adam did nothing but make her suffer. However, she endured all of it just to stop her heart from loving her boss. She needed to feel annoyance and anger towards him so that her anger could surpass the love she felt for him.

One morning, she suddenly woke up feeling like her stomach was being dug up. She hurriedly ran towards the sink to vomit. She clutched her stomach while throwing up in the sink.

After vomiting, she looked up to her reflection in the mirror. She looked pale.

She held onto the edge of the sink as she felt dizzy. She squeezed her eyes shut and leaned against the cold tiles of the bathroom wall. While waiting for her breathing to be regulated, she pondered what she had eaten the previous night. Perhaps that was why she vomited and felt dizzy.
