A big mistake

Chapter 2

And just as she said this, the bartender simply smiled turning his back on her to bring out a bottle of alcoholic drink.

Giving it a little shake, he popped it open pouring it's contents into a cup before sliding it her.

"Strong enough to dissolve your problems" he stated before going on to attend to the next customer.

The drink was in front of her but she didn't touch it only staring at it lost in space.

Heaving a sad sigh, she held on to it gulping down its contents in one go only to taste the extremely bitter taste of the drink which made a scowl form on her face.

Like he said, the drink was strong but it wasn't strong enough to get her drunk.

Right from time, Evelyn had a very high tolerance for alcohol so just taking a shot wouldn't do the trick.

Banging her hand on the counter she ordered for more quite surprising the bartender who went on to fill her glass over again.

As Evelyn drank, the effect of the alcohol slowly started to kick.

Her head turned to the cake on the table, she couldn't believe she had run with it all the way here.

What was the point having it around when the person or was supposed to be for didn't even need it?

The more she stared at the cake in front of her, her breathing turned erratic, fingers molded into fists and the anger that she had submerged in her heart rose.

Yelling out, she slammed her hands into the cake not caring if it was making a mess on the counter.

Her nails dug deep into it ruining the designs and the icing into shreds.

The feel of it was soft beneath her fingers and as she continuosly slammed her fists into the cake, she attracted the gaze of the others towards her.

With a cake filled hand, she went to wipe off the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

No she wouldn't cry.

She didn't want to cry so instead, she aggressive took out her frustration on the cake till everything was finally ruined.

Only then did she recline to the chair breathing heavily.

"Evelyn" called a voice from behind her but she didn't care to look as she could recognise Aurora's voice.

"Evelyn you are drinking?" She said not hiding the shock in her voice for she has never seen her in such state as this most of all, she had never seen Evelyn drink. 

The tears that prickled down her eyes didn't go unnoticed by Aurora who remained routed simply glancing at her.

"What are you doing?" She half exclaimed coming to stand beside her taking a look at her messy state.

From her hair to her face which now had a stain of cake on it to her clothes and hands.

In fact, she seemed to have bathed in cake herself.

A sigh of relief washed over Aurora's face as she found Evelyn.

The way she had earlier run out of the hospital with tears in her eyes made her feel really uneasy and troubled so she went after her.

She couldn't find her if not the fact that she had tracked her with her phone.

"What does it look like? I'm having the time of my life" she jokes giving out a laugh.

"Doesn't seem like it.

Why are you... Tell me what happened?" Asked Aurora taking hold of her to seat on the couch away from the counter.

It really did surprise aurora to see Evelyn who was always calm and composed in such a horrific state.

"Please don't urge me. I don't want to talk about it" 

I'm calling Josh" she said and in a haste to dial his number, her phone was forcefully grabbed from her hand and smashed to the ground with such force it startled Aurora making a loud gasp leave her lips.

The phone was just a month old and in such period of time, it received such fate where cracked lines were seen on the phone.

"Don't you dare call him. His a scum. A big one" 

Tonight Aurora couldn't help but open her mouth and her eyes going even wider at the attitude Evelyn displayed.

"What the hell is wrong with you? That phone costs a fortune!" Said aurora, a frown to her face but seeing the look on Evelyn's face, her frown quickly dispelled away and when she heard her sob, Aurora took pity on her consoling her the best she could.

She knew something was wrong.

For starters never for once has Evelyn gotten herself drunk in her life and secondly, she heard her curse not just anyone but Josh.

She knew how much she loved Josh so this was a surprise to her.

Evelyn wasn't one to show her emotions and now that she did it could only be that something really awful happened to keep her in this state.

"Okay I won't call him besides you destroyed my phone so it's impossible to do so but what happened. Don't just block me out, Evelyn you know you can talk to me" she coaxed like she was talking to a child and when Evelyn's hands reached for the bottle, it was quickly pulled out of her reach by Aurora but still she didn't speak, her throat hurts, her heart hurts even more.

Hot shimmering tears continuously spilled down her eyes staining her cheeks.

"If you don't speak I'll tell Mom and Dad" threatened Aurora for more tears to stream down her cheek and at first when she opened her lips, no words came out.

It felt like a fish bone was stuck to her throat until she forced Herself to speak narrating everything that happened.

Aurora gasped in shock.

She couldn't believe that was happening right under their noses.

"Those scumbags!!!" She yelled out in anger.

"How could they do such a thing?"

Evelyn sat there simply watching as Aurora cursed and stamped her foot angrily to the ground.

Her head was spinning and her mind was foggy and all she wanted to do at the moment was to lay her head down on something soft.

"Aurora" called Evelyn for Aurora to turn her head to her.

"Hmm?" 

"I'm tired.

Let's go home please" she sounded and seeing how exhausted Evelyn was looking Aurora nodded.

Helping her to stand, Aurora paid off the bartender going back to help Evelyn but in am attempt to make their way out of the bar, they were stopped by Jack when a loud yell which attracted the attention of everyone was heard.

"Evelyn!" Almost everyone turned their attention to the source only to find Josh coming in their direction and behind him was Amelia who cat walked with her heels making her way to where they were.

Aurora cursed for she had called Amelia to tell her about Evelyn's situation at the bar and in the process giving her the address.

She had no idea she was the one who hurt her cousin.

She was a sn@ke!

A wolf in sheep's clothing!

"What are you doing here?" Evelyn asked turning to Aurora sending her a glare.

"I promise I didn't call him. I only texted Amelia but that was before you told me what happened I promise" she said trying to ease the glare Evelyn sent her way.

Irritated by his presence, she  attempted to leave but found it impossible to do so when she was blocked by Josh.

The smell of alcohol penetrated Josh's nose who now stood in front of them his eyes lingering on Evelyn and behind him was Amelia dressed on like a slot.

"Evelyn let's talk"

The sound of his voice brought her gaze to him, her teeth clenched in utter disgust.

"What's there to say, after what you did you pig!" Aurora cursed out with a glare thrown at him.

A glare Josh ignored going to take hold of Evelyn's hand.

"Don't touch me" shouted Evelyn yanking her hand away in disgust.

"Stop making a fuss and come with me.

Just take a look at yourself.

You look awful" he said stating the fact but it didn't change her mind to go with him.

"And so? Have a problem with it?.

I'll let everyone know what sort of a scum you are" she yelled out to him.

"Think whatever you want to think but you do as I say, you hear me!"

His domineering tone irritated Evelyn making her want to vomit all over him.

"Or else what?! Huh?" Retorted Evelyn turning her gaze to Amelia who only sneered on seeing her.

She couldn't imagine Amelia could hurt her this much.

Amelia was more than just a friend to her.

She was her friend, her sister and her part of the people she considered her family.

They have been through thick and thin together with lots of things in common.

For starters they were both orphaned at a very young age.

But here she was openly betraying her, stabbing her behind her back.

Never did she imagine Amelia or Josh to hurt her this much.

"How could you do this to me?" She cried out, her pain could evidently be seen.

"How could I not? I saw a good opportunity and I took it. You better be a good girl and listen" said Amelia with an eye roll.

"Fuck you Josh. You're no one to me.

It's over" Evelyn said and in an attempt to walk past him, she was jerked back with force making her almost stumble to the ground.

"What do you mean by that rubbish?! Do you think you can find someone better than me huh?

Do you think anyone would want to go out with a sleeze bag such as yourself?

You should be grateful I'm with you" he spat out.

His words causing a major damage to her heart as it felt like am arrow was Pierced in there.

It hurts like hell to hear the man she loved uttering such words about her.

"Josh!" Aurora yelled at him.

"Stay out of this aurora. This is between me and her" he warned, his voice so stern it startled Aurora.

"Evelyn just do as told and come with him" Amelia said

"I'm not going" she insisted but what she didn't except was for Josh to grip on to her hand pulling her with him regardless of her protest.

His hold on her so tight that she felt a little more pressure on her wrist could break her bones.

While they were having a heated argument amongst themselves, a man was busy running up and down.

He was the manager of the bar and along with the employees of the bar, they were all trying to make everything in order for the arrival of the famous person, Mr Xander.

A man who could change his life with just his presence.

And if words get out that he was here, he was sure to hope on more wealthy customers just like him.

More customers of his kind, equals more money and so he made everything in order.

Unfortunately he was only just informed about his incoming visit and also wasn't informed on his time of arrival, that's the reason for his panicked state.

If he had been informed earlier, he would have prepared ahead perhaps not letting anyone until his visit was over.

He wanted everything to be perfect

Hearing some arguments, his face scrunched up into a frown before he sent his guards to deal with it.

When the guards at the bar approached them on the manager's order's, Josh was quick to explain he was simply taking his fiance home.

Seeing her state and the alcohol oozing from her, they didn't say any further.

"I'm not his fiance!" Yelled Evelyn forcefully yanking her hand away from his grip.

"Really then, what am I hmm? A stranger?

I'm the only important person in your life so shut it"

"You are no one to me" she said and turning to the guards she said with her voice raised.

"I don't know him. My boyfriend is coming to pick me up. He'll be here soon" she said gaining a mocking laugh from Amelia.

For moments she couldn't help but laugh holding on to her tummy.

"Did you say boyfriend?

Evelyn you have no one. You should be grateful jack is willing to accept you " she mocked out to her but Evelyn simply rolled her eyes coming to stand in front of her.

"Do you think he's the only one after me? He should be grateful I Even give him face.

He's nothing compared to my boyfriend so he should fuck off"

"Oh really? I would like to see this boyfriend of yours. How come I've never heard of him?" Asked Amelia with her hands to her waist.

She of all people knew Evelyn was lying because if such a thing happened she would have been the first to know.

"I guess you were just clueless " 

"Is that so? Then where is he?" Josh asked.

"He's on his way" said Evelyn

"Great, I would like to see who exactly he is or if he is fake" said Amelia and to Evelyn it sounded like she was willing to wait at the bar with her until her boyfriend came

"Why don't you call him right now" said Amelia making Evelyn at a loss for words.

For a while she was speechless.

Of course she didn't have a boyfriend.

She said what she said to spite them.

She hated their guts towards her and simply uttered what she said without much thought.

Now Amelia said this, Evelyn was at loss.

"What? cat got your tongue?" Amelie said with a scoff.

"You are a pathetic liar Evelyn and you are Even more pathetic as his fiance.

Do you even have guts to hang around other guys other than Jack?

That's why no one wants to be with you"

"That's not true"

"Oh no? Then prove it Evelyn.

Prove what I'm saying isn't true.There are so many men here, kiss anyone of them" said Amelia with a smirk on her lips.

Josh hearing this glared at Amelia but his gaze didn't scare her.

"Relax Josh baby. She can't do it because she is nothing without you. Can't you see it" hearing the words of Amelia Josh lips pulled up into a smile.

Knowing Evelyn as a respectable girl, he knew she couldn't do such a thing.

Aurora who stood by the side could only feel pity for her cousin, a frown arched up her face.

"Enough Amelia" said aurora.

"Chicken.  No wonder Josh cheats on me with you" she said and that seemed to hit a spot in Evelyn's heart.

And looking round, her eyes landed on the figure just stepping in.

The door flew open and stepping in was a man with three bodied able men in Black on either side of him.

His dressing exuded an impeccable aura that demanded respect.

His stare which was as cold as ice was enough to make anyone who came close cower in fear and when he stepped in, the manger was first to meet him.

Without a second thought more, she left their sight heading for him.

Evelyn couldn't tell if it was stupidity or the mocking tone of Amelia or even the drink she had had that prompted her to move forward.

Dashing out of their sight, she went to him and at first on seeing her approaching, the two bodyguard moved forward only for her to maneuver them going to stand in front of him.

Right before everyone she did the unthinkable when she stood on her toes due to the height difference and with her hands on the collar of his suite, she kissed shocking them all.

Breaking free from him, she stood dazed, her eyes going wild in bewilderment at what she had just done.

What did she just do?

As She was thinking of this, a voice sounded above her head.

It was deep and fierce enough to make her entire body tremble with fear.

"How dare you kiss me?"
