"Hello, Mother," Derrick said, picking up his mother's call. His voice sounded hoarse and shaky as he was quite emotional about meeting his son.

"Derrick, where are you?" Lady Loretta asked, wanting to know if Derrick had gone to the orphanage as they had discussed.

Derrick wanted to tell his mother that he had seen his son. Likewise, he would get to see Miranda, but he held himself back, knowing that she was old and he didn't want to cause her any distress.

"I am still at my office, Mother. I will be home soon," he said.

"Really? Did you go to the orphanage?" Lady Loretta asked, and Derrick replied, "Yes, Mother," still looking at his son.

"Did you see Miranda? I mean, is there a chance that you might see her in that orphanage?" Lady Loretta asked, and Derrick didn't know why his mother was particularly concerned about that specific orphanage.

"No, I didn't get to see her there, Mom, but I have some good news for you. When I get home, we will discuss it," Derrick said, and his mother
