"Nothing, has Alex or Derrick arrived from work? I heard the car sound," Lady Loretta inquired of Miranda.

"Yes, Ma," Miranda said, wondering if Alex had gone directly to his room. Perhaps Lady Loretta had seen him there.

"Miranda, are you sure you’re alright?" Lady Loretta asked again.
