Chapter 2: Earth (Daniel's POV)

Daniel is an aleric from the planet Aleris. Not long ago his parents died in front of him. He is the heir to the throne not until his sister, Mirana led a rebellion against him. He didn’t get the chance to sit on his throne because his sister already succeeded it. Mirana being power hungry knew that she has to kill Daniel so she can now control all power in their planet. She also knew that as long as Daniel is alive he can take away the throne from her.

Daniel together with his right hand man, Arthur and his friend Isolde escape from Aleris. Right before Mirana launch an assignation for Daniel. Mirana is so furious because of this and decides to kill their other relatives that can take her throne away from her. She also killed people who doesn’t obey her. The whole planet is sitting on her foot.

Daniel together with his friends, have travelled from different planets to seek refuge. They first landed at Kriskit the planet of merchants and traders. Arthur barter their gems for some foods and stuffs they need. Isolde guard Daniel from possible assault Mirana has planned. Daniel search for other possible planets they can live on for a while. Somewhere Mirana’s power doesn’t get into. He nearly gives up when he spot on planet AHG-1279 which translates into Earth. Daniel thinks it is far enough to get away from Mirana and maybe if they were more lucky, they can also live there since he know Mirana wont attack a very poor planet. He knew she wouldn’t waste time on a small planet. He told Isolde and Arthur about earth and they decide to set course on it.

Arthur beamed their ship for a faster travel on earth. It only takes 7hrs to arrive on earth.

After seven hours, they finally arrived at earth’s atmosphere. They entered it and they planned to land on a country named France. They stayed out of sight and make sure no living soul sees them land. Arthur now activate the ships invisibility so they can hide it.

“Mont Blanc Forest,” Daniel said, while reading the signage.

They continue walking until they got to a small village. Until they arrived at Les Louches it is near Mont Blanc forest. There they started adapting to the surroundings culture and language. Daniel is amaze at earth.

“Earth is amazing, although it is only a small planet sure it has some own unique features,” he whispers to Isolde.

They continue to live on France for 3 months and they have adapted finely into France’s culture. Isolde also teaches Daniel to fight and trains with him.

“You need to act swiftly Daniel,” she said as she aim to punch Daniel.

“Oui Isolde, I am trying my best to ward you off,” he said as he defend himself from Isolde.

Daniel trains hardly for the past 3 months and hoped that his sister will never find him. Arthur then says that they don’t have much gems left. They need to make a living now, all three of them so that they can provide for their needs. Daniel now goes to an internet café where he search for possible companies that may hire them. He also search for what they need in order to apply.

“We need this resume they said,” he said

Isolde made some resume for them and some other requirement. She studied and faked some documents they have. Since they have equipment’s, they used it to create fake identification cards that they can use when applying for jobs. Not to tell the fact that their technology is far more advance to us. They now go to companies in France to apply for different jobs like chef, accountant, lawyer and even doctor since it is the most prominent line of work. Not until Arthurs radar that can track Mirana has alerted them.

“She is here!” Arthur shouted at Daniel and Isolde.

They hide behind the bushes and talk.

“Where is she?” Isolde asked.

“It doesn’t matter, we have to get off this planet,” he said as he stood up but Isolde grab him back.

“We have to be careful Daniel, one wrong move and you are dead,” she said angrily.

“We have to move to another country, instead of another planet,” Arthur said. “You know Daniel I am getting kind of tired from running away from your sister. We need to fight soon,” he added.

“I know, I just need the right time.” He stood up and walk.

Isolde behind him is alerted just in case any enemy shows up. Arthur is still searching for other places in his phone where they can live on.

“I got it!” he said as he runs beside Daniel.

Arthur shows Daniel a place in London, England. It is a good place. Arthur also said that they can also find companies there. Daniel agreed to Arthur but Isolde refuses. She want to leave the planet as soon as possible but Daniel said they can stay in earth for a while. When they got home, Isolde stayed at the door way looking for people that may have followed them. While Arthur and Daniel pack their things. Daniel take the gems they have and thinks for a better way to use it. Until he got an idea and told Arthur about it. Arthur agreed and then they left their house. They travelled all the way near the sister country of France.

“London, England.” Daniel paused.

He looks at the scenic view of London. It was very beautiful he thought. It is filled with street light, buses and peoples. He looks around until their car in front of a large house.

“148 central avenue,” he muttered on himself.

He walks inside the house and sees the empty spaces he planned to fill. Isolde is behind him holding some bags and Arthur on the end holding other stuffs. They all inspect the surroundings and unpack their things. The house have 5 rooms with a basement and an attic. It also have a spacious living room. Big countertops at the kitchen. 3 bathrooms and a large backyard. Daniel thought he can fill the house with lots of good things. He then go to his room and looks around it. He unpacks his things and decided to take a nap after a long drive. Arthur has taken two rooms. One his room and the other is where their equipment’s is. Isolde goes to her room and unpack quickly but instead of resting she decides to run around the perimeter of the house to glance around and familiarize herself from the new surroundings. She spots on cafes and restaurant. She also sees malls and markets. She decides to go home after and take a quick rest.

Daniel wakes up in the middle of the night. He heard his stomach growled in starvation. He figured out that there still some cash in Arthur’s wallet. He planned to buy their needs since there are stores nearby. He stood up from his room and walk down the stairs. He find himself in the living room, there are no other stuffs in there. No televisions nor sofa to sit on. He sat down by the window and start planning on how they can be able to acquire some money for their needs. Daniel then got a strategy but he didn’t know if it will work. So he immediately go to Arthur’s room and take the cash along with the gems.

“I just need to buy some foods and drinks for the day, after that I’m going to that company that can help us with our needs,” Daniel muttered on himself.

Daniel leaves the house and start walking right past the central avenue station. He sees many people in the nearby club. He also saw lots of houses with different structures. He is blinded by the city lights and the crowds cheering. Everything seems so happy here on earth, he thought to himself. After a few blocks he stops at a store. He inspects first the things they should need. He then grab some cold cuts like sausages, patties, fries, pork cutlet and some snacks together with bread and a gallon of water. He proceeds to the cashier and pays for it.

“Nice, I still got some money left for a cab,” he said. “I need to go to that company now to seal some deals.” He added.

Daniel now ride a cab and he handed the driver the address of the company he said. After five to ten minutes, he arrived at his destination. The building is tall, he reads the signage that says “HSBC Holdings.” Daniel goes inside the building and talks to some girl.

“Hello sire! How may I help you?” the girl asked.

“I’m currently looking for Igor Santiago, is he here?” he asked.

“Mr. Santiago is currently at a meeting right now but he is still here. I suggest that you should just take a seat first and I’ll call you if ever he is still not busy and if he is ready.” She replied with a smile.

“Thank you miss,” he said.

Daniel waits patiently at the lobby and waits for Mr. Santiago. After a few minutes of waiting the girl called him.

“Uhm Mister?” the girl called. “Mr. Santiago is waiting for you in his office. Please proceed at the 60^th floor.”

“Okay, thank you,” he said.

Daniel proceeds to the elevator and push the button 60. He arrived shortly and already at the floor he needed. He scanned the floor and it is very high. The room is painted in some kind of baroque art. He also sees the tiles made of marble and an aquarium about 12 by 40 size. When a man from behind speaks.

“It only cost for about $10, 204,” Mr. Santiago said.

Daniel looks at him and saw an old man. Beard in his face and white hairs hanging from his eyes. He got wrinkled clothes and looks like he doesn’t sleep very well. He looks thin but somewhat fit for his age.

“I have a proposition for you Mr. Santiago,” Daniel said.

“Let us go inside the office, it is much comfortable there.” He said as he walks inside a very large room.

Daniel followed him and sees how huge the room is. A very large mirror window that you can see the outside of the building. Large shelves and cabinets. Sofas and a television. It is also air-conditioned and near the mirrored window is a round table with laptop and other stuffs Daniel couldn’t recognize. He sat down at one of the chair in front of Mr. Santiago.

“I plan to buy your company,” he said without hesitation.

“Well do you know anything about business?” Mr. Santiago asked.

“Well no, I don’t really know any businesses but I need your company for just a few months or so. My friends and I are not from here and we need money to survive,” he added.

“Not from here? I can just take you from where you are boy,” Mr. Santiago replied.

“No you don’t understand, I can’t risk my own people and identity for this. How about we share the company for a while. You are old, you need some time on your own. Maybe a vacation with your family. You have been so focused on your work that you no longer have time for other things. I just need to borrow your company for a few months or so Mr. Santiago,” Daniel said.

Mr. Santiago thinks about it as he look past the window and said.

“I have been a very busy guy, I couldn’t even save time for my wife that died from an illness. Now my children’s, I couldn’t even visit them or talk to them. Ask them how they are. I have grown old in this company and maybe you right. Maybe I need some vacation, a rest and arranged my family again.” Mr. Santiago added. “How many months do you need my dear boy?”

“Five months, after that the company is yours again,” Daniel said.

Mr. Santiago agreed to Daniel’s proposition and said that he will start next week, Monday. He also said that he needs to take of something first just like the passing of the seat to Daniel. He also need to have a meeting with the board members to tell them about his decisions. Daniel also agreed with him and will wait for his signal to come work for the company as a temporary CEO. Daniel also hopes that he will take care of everything Daniel will need and they both agreed and make a deal.

Daniel got home after a few hours and takes the food in the kitchen shelves. He just lost some cash and the gem is still his. He plans to make the gems as bribes if ever Mr. Santiago won’t agree but it turns out least to what he expected. Daniel goes to his room happily knowing that they can survive and stay in earth for a few months.

After a few days, Daniel succeeded the chair of Mr. Santiago and also for the past days he had studied business and finances. Also about stocks and importations. He told Isolde and Arthur about it and they are glad that Daniel makes a plan. While on their free time, Isolde and Daniel are doing some trainings just in case an attack happen.

Monday morning, they all drive a car that is given by the company. Arthur is driving and Isolde on the passenger seat. While Daniel is on the back sipping his coffee. This is the first time they are going to work for a company.

“Good Morning Mr. Daniel,” greeted by everyone that sees him. He casually nodded just a bit to everyone and smiles. Daniel seems to catch the hearts of the girls in his company. Well Daniel is indeed a handsome fellow. Beside him is Arthur and on the back guarding them is Isolde. He got inside of his own office on the 56^th floor and as he swiftly moves around it, he saw his belongings on the table. Also a huge shelves and cabinets filled with books and papers. He also have his own personal refrigerator with foods and drinks on it. Also a personal bathroom. He and Arthur laugh while Isolde is smirking on them while leaning at the door.

“Isolde, you will be my personal assistant and myy receptionist so you can scanned people first before they go inside my office,” Daniel said.

“Agreed, I will proceed now to my station.” She said as walking outside the door.

“You Arthur will handle everything else, monitor everything that is happening,” Daniel added.

“Sure boss,” Arthur replied as walks out the room.

“And I will stay here to analyze something about the stocks exchange,” Daniel muttered on himself.

Daniel now finishes everything on his table. It has been a busy day for him. He has attended meetings and some meet ups.

“Being a CEO is hard work,” he groaned. Daniel walks out his office and told Isolde he will go home on his own because he needs time to think. He then ride the elevator all the way to the parking. When he is in the parking lot he goes inside his car and rest there for a few minutes. After that he drives past a mall and unto Central Avenue. He slowed down his car when a girl asks for a ride and goes inside his car. Daniel is going to tell the girl that he is not a cab when the girl handed her address to him. He is going to laugh and shout when he notices she is going to cry, so he just drive her. He thought he can just take her home without noticing that he is not a cab driver.

He inspects the features of the girl. She has long brown hair with blue eyes. She is slim and her lips are a bit red. She got cute cheeks. Then the girl started crying on the back and Daniel tried to confront her.

“Missy, this is a cab not a weeping station,” the driver muttered.

He saw her took glances at him with tears in her eyes. That very moment Daniel wanted to know what is inside her little head. What is going on inside it? What is she thinking? Daniel is caught off guard by the girl’s eyes, for him it seems magical. He didn’t realize how beautiful the girl is only when she looks at him directly.

“Oh maybe you shouldn’t pay attention if someone is crying,” she argued.

“But you are in fact in my cab, so that makes you my responsibility,” he said while examining the girl.

He saw her laugh and continued looking at the buildings that passed. Daniel want to think of a way to comfort this girl when he sees her name tag that says “Alexa Jones.” He then thinks about primrose hill where you can see the city and the stars.

“You know I got a good place for you where you can release all the tensions you are enduring right now,” he said.

But the girl named Alexa didn’t pay any attention to him. So he just kept driving until they got to their destination. He also didn’t understand but he wanted to comfort this girl in the most romantic way possible. Hoping she will fall for him but caution swarmed inside him. He knew he shouldn’t fall in love with a human because if he does. It will be harder for him to leave earth behind. He will want to stay if that happens. So he decided to just do this favor once and then leave the girl behind. He walks out his car and heard the girl said.

“This is isn’t my house,” Alexa said as she stood up.

“I know but I really felt you might need this,” Daniel claimed.

Daniel saw her stop crying and focused on what’s in front of her. He saw how her eyes lit up from the scenery she saw. At last he felt happiness seeing the person he wants be happy. He immediately calms himself down and stop himself from thinking like that. He shouldn’t fall for her.

“This is the Primrose Hill.” Daniel said while pointing at the trees ahead

“Wow,” Alexa said.

Daniel spent all afternoon with her. He saw how happy she was and how beautiful she is when she laugh. He felt his heart skip a beat when she is beside him. They talk about their life, Daniel gave her some advice. They literally felt comfortable with each other and Daniel can feel it. He can feel her. Her hands, her heart beats and her every breath. He doesn’t know but his heart has already fallen deeper with Alexa. After that they decided to go home. He drove Alexa home till he reach the address and signals Alexa that they are here. He didn’t go out his car when he heard her talk.

“By the way, I didn’t get your name and your number,” Alexa mentioned.

“You don’t need my name nor my number Ms. Jones. We will meet again, that time I will gladly introduce myself to you!” Daniel said as he started the engine and drove away. Losing sight of that blue eyes that felt like an ocean who has trap him in the middle and couldn’t got out for air.
