"Are you ready?" Nate asked, with a small frown on his face.

He already had an inkling of what to expect in the council meeting. The fact that he was supposedly entangled with Nicole was a big deal.

However, he knew she would take most of the brunt instead.

"Yes..." Nicole said, looking down to see she was dressed in a short summer dress. She wondered who had changed her clothes from Nate's. She then chastised herself for failing to notice this change.

"Don't worry, the servant took care of you." Bryce said, noticing her dilemma.

At his words, Nicole let out a small sigh of relief and immediately she stood from the bed. However, she was careful not to use her right hand for anything.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, she was a bit wobbly but then she was quick to stabilize herself.

On the other hand, Bryce followed every one of her movements. He was worried about Roman but deep down in his mind, he reasoned that only Nicole could fish out Roman.
