Escape or die

Hearing the words of the raging people outside the palace, I got out of bed and ran to my father’s room. I knew he was behind it, and I wanted to know why he had to go through that path.

Getting to his chamber, I found him smirking wickedly as he stared out of the window, observing the kingdom's people.

“You did it, didn’t you? This wasn’t part of the plan.” I uttered, walking closer to him.

“We have plans, Sara, but when we find an opportunity, we grab it. And I must say you’re doing very well, Sara. Thank you for giving me such important information.” He retorted, still looking out of the window.

“But… How did you do it?” I further asked as I wasn’t moved by his compliment. I was still surprised he did such a thing without informing me.

We are supposed to be together in this. No one should take any step without informing the other.

“It was easier than I thought. I never knew the people were beginning to grow hatred for the king after the truth about his brother and his
