The muffled sounds from the dead trees whistled past the hearing distance of Doctor Haishi as he turned to look around him for a movement. He had been moving on the hilly route with ease and although he needed to catch up with his troop, he was certain of his possibility of catching up with them. He kicked the sides of his horse to generate more speed to run past whatever made the sounds he had heard. He still heard his stomach growl in protest of not being fed; he was left jealous as his horse reminded him of the fuel generated from eating as it powered up the speed it ran with. Whoosh!A whistling sound of force-fuelled hoofs projected by the flash movements, crunching sounds of breaking twigs, and the distance covered in seconds were testament to the incredible speed and ground-covering that Doctor Haishi’s horse left in its wake. Doctor Haishi’s breath rivaled his horse as it paced up and down, his head turning back to see if anyone followed closely behind. He was pleased with
~Luciennne~ Killian's eyes widened in surprise, his gaze locking with mine as he searched my face for any sign of doubt or uncertainty. And then, slowly, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, his expression filled with a mixture of relief and joy. "Yes, Lucienne," he replied softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I do feel it too." A surge of happiness flooded through me at his words, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. For so long, I had wondered if I would ever find myself a mate, someone who would love and cherish me just like this. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I threw myself into his arms, my heart overflowing with love and gratitude. "Thank you for being mine.” Killian hugged me tightly, his arms wrapped around me protectively as he buried his face in my hair. "No. I should be thanking you for being mine," he murmured, his voice filled with sincerity. "I love you, Lucienne." I pulled back slightly, gazing up at him with tear-
~Lucienne~When Killian hung up, he looked over at me with an apologetic expression. I saw a mix of frustration and determination in his eyes, and I knew that whatever he was about to say would carry the weight of the tension between him and his mother.“I’ll relay the information to my mother,” he said firmly, snapping his phone shut. He took a deep breath and then turned to me, his shoulders relaxing slightly as he looked into my eyes. "I'm sorry you had to hear that," he murmured into my hair. "But I won't let her come between us."I pulled back slightly to look up at him, my heart aching at the tension he felt. “Why don’t you want to go back home for your birthday?” I asked, genuinely curious and a little concerned. His birthday seemed like an important event, especially considering the way his mother spoke about it.Killian’s face softened, a small, sincere smile playing at the corners of his lips. “Because I want to spend it with you, Lucienne. Just you.”My heart fluttered at h
~Killian~"Killian," Lucienne called out to me with the softest, sleepiest voice I'd ever heard. "It's time to wake up."I blinked awake, the early morning light filtering through the curtains. Lucienne was already up, her hair tousled, and a gentle smile playing on her lips. She looked ethereal in the soft light, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of love for her."Good morning," I murmured, reaching out to pull her into a warm embrace."Good morning," she replied, resting her head on my chest for a moment before pulling back. "We have a busy day ahead."I nodded, stretching as I sat up. "Yeah, lots of meetings. But we'll get through it together."We got out of bed and started preparing for the day. Lucienne headed to the bathroom first, and I could hear the faint sounds of her morning routine as I made my way to the kitchenette. I started brewing a pot of coffee, knowing we’d need it to power through the day.By the time Lucienne emerged from the bathroom, looking refreshed and re

~Lucienne~I whipped my head to the back, to see who was holding the huge log of wood used to hit him."Did you really think you could run from me, Lucienne?" His cruel voice filled my ears again and I unconsciously began to tremble.“Daniel?”“Yes, mate. It's me. Your one and only!” He chuckled, placing the log of wood on his shoulder now. “Did this fucker think he could take you from me?” He scoffed, looking at the man's unconscious body, lying just in between the driver and me. “Anyways he's learned his lesson and now, over to you. What did you want to do? To leave me? Your one and only fated mate?” “N-no,” I stammered, trying to move away but my legs were practically paralyzed due to the accident so they refused to move.“No? But you clearly told my father you wanted to be with him. Now tell me, Lucienne, is that how much you despise me?”Although the answer was pretty clear, I despised him very, very much but I dare not say that.“Answer me, Lucienne!” He demanded, and I flinche
~Lucienne~Olivia's words sent a shiver down my spine, her anger still simmering beneath the surface despite her attempt at an apology. I forced a tight smile, trying to brush off her threat as if it were nothing more than empty words even though I knew they weren't. Killian stepped forward, breaking the handshake. "Alright, Olivia. Go cool off."With a final glare in my direction, Olivia turned on her heel and stalked away, her posture tense with anger. I let out a shaky breath, relieved that the confrontation was over, at least for now.As Olivia disappeared into the darkness, the tension in the air slowly began to dissipate and before I knew it, the other warriors gathered around me, offering words of praise and encouragement for my defense skills during the spar."Nice moves out there, Lucy," one of them said, clapping me on the back with a grin. "You held your own against Olivia. Not an easy feat. She keeps acting like she's the boss. Good to see someone finally clap back for on
