JAMES’ POV.

The energy in my bones were beginning to give out, I could feel the weakness engulfing me, taking over every ounce of my body.

The poison was beginning to have a large effect on me, my bones felt weak, my vision blurry.

And as I grabbed the sword of the rogue on top of me with shaky hands, my arms shaking as blood rolled down my wrist due to the blade of the rogue's sword digging deep into my palm.

Saliva dripped from the rogue’s mouth onto my face as the rogue pressed on, forcing the sword down to the point that I could already feel the cold metal of the blade pressed against my throat.

“This is where you die beta”

No matter how hard you try to channel all my strength it just wasn't enough, the poison had weakened me so much and I knew if I don't find a way to push this rogue off me then I would be a dead man in no time.

My sword had fallen off my hand a while ago and now that I had my palm wrapped around the blade of the rogue’s sword, more poison slipped into my b

Kailey's pov. My closed eyelids were suddenly engulfed by a sudden brightness, I twitched, my fist clenching and then suddenly my eyelids went wide open. At first I was blinded by the early morning sun which hung high in the sky, I blinked multiple times to adjust my sight. What happened?. The hardness behind me made me realize I was lying on something. I tilted my head to the side and with my back crushing the dried leaves, I noticed I was lying on the ground.I slowly pushed myself up to a sitting position, a sharp pain radiated from my head earning a low painful groan from my lips forcing me to grab my head with both hands.I took a deep breath and decided to take in my surroundings, that was when I realized I was still in the forest. I grinded my teeth together, it was morning already, I must have passed out the previous night, from all the running escaping the mind games the first was playing. Speaking of the forest, I have lost the track of tune already, however with the s

Kailey’s POV.I stood there captivated by the blood red flowers, they seemed unreal, scary and mysterious. Their red color reminded me of something.Blood. I continued walking, taking more steps and as I did, more and more flowers appeared in the groove. The scent in the air was more on this side, a sweet tang which also had a sweet taste to it, I wasn't sure how but somehow I could taste the sweetness in the air. What are these?. I couldn't help but wonder what the flowers were, the forest had shown me a lot of supernatural things which were white right now I was fully on my guard, I wouldn't let my guard down for now reason.Suddenly there was a whistle in the air, I paused, trying to figure out where the whistling was coming from but it felt like it was everywhere. My heart slowly began to pound in my chest, I took a deep breath and tried to focus on where the sound was coming from.My eyes widened as I noticed that the whistling was coming from the flowers, the blood red flowers

JAMES’ POV. My wounds were completely healed and free from the poison, thanks to the Antidote, I was already back to full strength. My mind was still occupied with the thought of whether Auren was alright or not, it pained me so much that he was taken right in front of me, while I wasn't looking. I felt a tug in my heart as I advanced further, I had tried so hard not to show the pain I felt in front of Lydia, assuring her that I would find Auren, I was certain he was still inside the pack house, that was the hope I was holding on to. I knew something was wrong the moment I stepped into the hallway. The air felt off, too still, too quiet.Even with the fighting outside, the whole place was still very much silent which was off. The pack house was never silent, especially not with the fighting happening outside. My boots thudded lightly on the polished wooden floor as I moved deeper inside, every sense alert at this point. Whoever took Auren must have not gone far. Suddenly, I hear

James pov. My mind was still occupied with the thought of how the rogues managed to get past the guards and into the pack house. A large frown appeared on my face as I inched deeper into the hallway. The pack soldiers had held their ground well, fending off the never ending wave of rogues, so how then were those two able to get into the pack house?.Seeing those two earlier only confirmed my fear, there were more of them inside the pack house, and these few must have not been in the sea of rogues who attacked the pack house. They must have snuck in through a secret passageway, there was no way they had done this themselves, it was clear that they had help from someone, someone inside the pack house. I gritted my teeth, my eyes sharp as I took in my surroundings. I wonder who it was, the one who had aided the rogues.Suddenly my mind went to Cecilia, I haven't heard or seen her since the beginning of the battle, where the hell has she been. Oh I just hope She has no hand in thisI

James pov As I stood on my feet, eyes locked on the rogue in front of me, I had confirmed his strength already and I knew this wasn't going to be an easy fight at all. If I wanted to win this, I would have to be serious with this. “Come on” the rogue muttered, cracking his knuckles. And cracking his neck. At this point I could hear my own breathing, rough, ragged, loud in my ears. The hallway was quiet, but only for a second. Dust floated in the air. Blood stained the walls, Of Course it was clear it was from the little fight we had. Some of those blood were mine and the rest of his. He stood at the far end, chest rising and falling steadily. Right now, His claws were out, long and black, tipped with blood. He was grinning, enjoying this. I on the other hand was tired, sore, and bleeding, but I still had my sword. However, my wounds were already healing. “You don’t look so good, Beta,” he said, taking a slow step forward.“You talk too much,” I answered, lifting my blade. We

Cecilia's pov. My heart raced, toes curled as I laid stretched out on the bed, both of my legs stayed handing in the air as all I felt at that point was pleasure, extreme pleasure.Damon continued moving back and forth, plowing into me with so much energy and I just couldn't hold back the moans which escaped my lips from time to time. I squeezed my legs, wrapping them against his wait and pulling him more into me as I reached my climax. My whole body spasm and in that moment, I also felt his rod twitching inside of me, in no time I could feel him filling me up from the inside. After that, Damon collapsed on me for a few moments before rolling off, we both laid back on the bed panting and trying to catch our breath.I can't believe I had given myself to him again, how could I do that? How could I let a rogue have so much power over me?. How could I let him have his way with me right here In the pack house?. Of Course I knew this as a disrespect to Ezekiel, I still had no regrets, a

Lydia's pov. The battle continued as the loud sounds of howls and metal clanging filled the air. I pressed my hands against my ears, trying to block it out, but it was no use at this point. The pack house was shaking. The screams of warriors, the growls of rogues, and the crashing of bodies against walls was everywhere.“Move! Lydia, stay close!” Jon shouted, grabbing my hand and pulling me through the corridor.Jon was one of the best warriors in the pack, always calm, always sharp and James had ordered him earlier to get me to safety. Another warrior followed behind us, tall and strong, but I didn’t know his name. His face was set, eyes darting back and forth like he expected an attack any second.“I’m scared,” I whispered as we ran.“I know,” Jon said, his voice steady. “But I won’t let anything happen to you.” We turned a corner, and my heart dropped. Part of the hallway was on fire, smoke curling into the air.“They’re everywhere,” the second warrior muttered. “We need to g

James pov. With the few rogues I had encountered here inside the pack house, I was already convinced that they had gotten their way somehow. It was obvious there must have been an inside man, someone who had given them access into the pack house. Come to think of it, the rogues wouldn't dare attack the pack if they were not confident about the outcome. Someone was pulling the strings. I shook my head, holding my sword in my right hand. This was not the time to put my sword inside its sheath as there might be dangers lurking around the corners.Right now the wounds on my body had completely healed, however, the blood stains still remained on my cloak, a reminder of the battle I had been involved in a few minutes ago. The two who had taken Auren, they had come through this part of the pack house, I frowned, halting as I took on my surroundings. There was no one around, the whole place was totally silent, it was just like a graveyard, except for the loud screened from outside and

The room was quiet as I sat beside Kailey at the head of the long conference table, a heavy silence hanging over us.The evening light was slipping through the tall windows, painting long shadows across the floor.Kailey’s hand rested over mine. Right now, We were waiting for news. News about our son, about James, about Lydia. My heart twisted every time I thought of Auren’s little face.Where was he? Was he safe?Suddenly, the heavy doors of the conference room burst open with a loud BANG.I jumped to my feet, ready to fight. But it was Cecilia. She stormed inside, her hair wild, her breathing heavy like she had been running. Kailey’s POV. As I stood there, looking at Ezekiel, standing in front of me, I couldn't believe my eyes.“Is this really you?”I asked, tears gathering in my eyes already.“It's me,” he answered, walking towards me. “You saved me. Suddenly I heard a voice, it was the voice I recognized, the couch of the forest spirit. “you have saved him. He would have lived as the Withered Stag for the rest of his life.” I glanced around and could see the warriors all on their horses around.I frowned, looking toward the mist “What about the relic.?” “There is no relic, the solution was your blood, the only way to save him was the blood of his mate.” the spirit muttered. After a while, there was a snap from the spirit and then it looked like we were all teleported from that area of the forest as the next thing I saw was Ezekiel and I, together with the rest of the warriors standing at a familiar road that leads out of the forest. The road that was once confusing now looks really familiar, of cour

James pov. The next morning, we decided to head north just as the message Lydia had dropped indicated. We moved fast through the trees. My boots hit the ground hard as I ran, sword in hand. Jon was right beside me, and the rest of our warriors followed close behind. We had tracked them here finally. Lydia and Auren were close. I could feel it, I don't think they were far off anymore. We had increased our pace the very moment we stepped out of the cave, ready and motivated to find Lydia. She had dropped the message and it was to show us that we are on the right track. Suddenly, we burst into a clearing, and there they were.Cecilia stood proudly in the middle, her long red cloak flapping in the wind. Beside her was Damon, the rogue leader, tall and strong, his arms crossed like he didn’t have a care in the world.Roy was there too, along with a handful of rough-looking rogues. They had Lydia and Auren held at the back, tied up and guarded by two rogues with knives. My heart slam

Lydia's pov. After passing the night in the cave, I knew it would be safe if I move on, the cave was too open, But before that, I had come up with a plan by carving some clues on the wall. Right now I was already on the move with Auren. The Morning light slipped through the tall trees as I hurried through the forest, I held Auren's hands. Every step I took felt heavier, every breath harder. We had been moving since before dawn, and my legs were tired, but I couldn’t stop. Not yet.“We're almost there, baby,” I whispered to him, even though I didn’t know where there was. I only knew we had to keep going north. Away from the pack house. Away from Cecilia. The forest was cold and damp. My boots squished in the soft ground, and twigs snapped under my feet. I tried to move quietly, but it was hard, I glanced over my shoulder. No one. Only the endless trees.I hugged Auren closer and kept moving. Then, up ahead, I heard something, it was a rustle in the bushes. I froze. My heart hamme

James pov. We have been in the forest for a long time but still there was no sign of Lydia and Auren. However the sun was starting to sink behind the hills when we finally saw it, a large, dark hole in the side of a rocky hill. I slowed my horse and raised my hand, signaling for everyone behind me to stop.“That’s it,” I said, staring at the cave. I didn’t know how I knew. I just... did. My heart was pounding in my chest. My instincts were screaming at me, Lydia was here.Jon rode up beside me. His face was serious, his dark eyes scanning the entrance. “You sure?” he asked quietly.I nodded. “I can feel it. She’s been here. I know it.”Jon didn’t argue, he trusted me, the same way I trusted him.The rest of the warriors waited behind us. Some of them looked nervous. Others just looked tired. We had been searching all day, riding hard through the forest and hills. However now, standing here, I felt a new rush of energy.“She’s close,” I said, tightening my grip on the reins.Jon l

James pov As we rode, I kept thinking about Lydia. I remembered the way she had smiled, the way she had looked at Auren like he was her whole world.I wasn’t going to let anything happen to them. Not on my watch. We had both promised Kailey and Ezekiel that we would protect and keep Auren safe. Though Auren wasn't safe, there was still a chance he was with Lydia and all I needed to do right now was find them and bring them back home to the pack house safe and sound. The tracks led us over hills and through narrow valleys. More than once, we had to stop and search when the trail grew faint. Each time, Jon was right there beside me, helping me pick up the scent again.“They’re moving fast,” Jon said after a while, wiping sweat from his forehead. “But not too fast. They’re slowing down.”I nodded. “They’re tired. Hungry, probably.”“And scared,” Jon added quietly.I didn’t like hearing that. Fear could make people careless. Lydia was smart, but if she was tired enough, scared enough, s

The sun was already high, but it didn’t do much to warm the uneasiness sitting heavy in my chest. Oh yes,I had a lot in my chest m, a whol
