Avery’s POV

The next morning, we began to prepare for our journey to the estate. I’m usually a confident person, but I was feeling a little anxious about the trip. Because, I was supposed to meet Kane's most beloved and only family, who I was really hoping would like and approve of me.

Then, secondly, I was supposed to steal a precious book from this same family while hoping that they would not find out and kill me. So, yea, I was more than a little anxious.

Everyone knew that Kane thought very highly of Lord Gregory's family. The old lord was still a precious father figure to Kane so I really wanted to impress him, or at least, not make him hate me.

Plus I was also nervous to meet the rest of the family members I hadn’t seen before. That was lord Gregory himself and his eldest son, Max who was Victoria’s husband.

I hadn’t heard a lot about Max except that he was a nice guy and he did not like politics, but Lord Gregory sounded intimidating.

Zander and Greyson all told me tha

Avery’s POV Shit! Shit! Shit! This was not how I’m supposed to die! Imagine being found dead, because you were trying to steal from the family of the man you said you loved. What would people say? How would Kane begin to explain it? It would be the proof Alexander would need to show that I was truly a western spy and I doubt that Kane would be able to stop the whole north from seeking revenge. Alexander would finally get permission to kill everyone in the spring pack. Even Brianne and Marie would not be spared. And knowing how Royal politics works, Kane would probably be forced to give his throne to Alexander as his punishment for bringing in a western spy to steal from them. Hot panic began to flood my veins, but I suddenly remembered that Lucian said if this were to happen, I should apply more of Mona's blood to the glass and try again. That sounded like a hopeless wish for good luck, but what other options did I have here? None! so I immediately pulled out the vial

  • A Luna of fire   Saving Avery

Avery’s POV Alexander got frustrated and shoved me into one of the cage like- cells, stepped outside, and locked the cage. Just then, I heard a sudden loud commotion outside, and the door burst open with one of the soldiers forcefully dragging a furious Brianne. The soldier got pissed at Brianne’s defiance and smacked her in the face. I gasped, but before the air left my lungs, Brianne raised her fist and punched him straight in the nose, allowing a satisfying crack to fill the air. The soldier fell on the floor, groaning in pain, while Brianne just flipped her hair and willingly walked into the cage and stood beside me as a shocked Alex locked the cage.Alex continued to glare at me through the bars of the cage. "This is where you belong, you filthy traitor. Western trash like you is meant to be in prison with rats and cockroaches."I looked at him straight in the eye and smirked, showing him that his words could not hurt me. Just then, a warrior burst into the room, ran

  • A Luna of fire   Claim me

Avery’s POV The goddess had answered my prayers. When we got to my room, we found Lucian standing there with his sword drawn. He had refused to let the warriors search my room, stating that it would be treason for the common guards to search through the King’s private things. The guards realized he was saying the truth, so they scampered away in fear. I sighed in relief, thankful of Lucian’s presence with us. Kane ushered me into the room and drew a hot bath for me. In 5 minutes, I was sitting on the edge of the bathtub, still trying to process everything that had happened in the last 12 hours when Kane walked in. His face was a picture of worry and guilt. Without saying a word, he took off his clothes, stepped into the bath and started running a warm cloth over my skin, washing away the grime and tension from the rough day we had. His touch was soft, almost worshipful, and I could see the guilt in his eyes as he worked. "I'm really sorry I wasn't there," he mur

  • A Luna of fire   Chaos in the spring pack

James’s POV I stood at the edge of my pack, staring out over the fields that used to be so vibrant and full of life. Now, they were barren and desolate. It was a painful reminder of how much had changed since Avery was taken from me. It felt like all the peace, order, and happiness and even color had vanished with her disappearance. Since she left, the deadly pandemic called the Blight had been spreading like wildfire, killing several of my people and destroying so many farmlands. It was as an unbelievable, and almost ironic situation, considering the fact that it was our own pack which had never ever been affected by the blight for almost 2 decades. it was like were Immune somehow. But the same day Avery was taken, the Blight suddenly attacked, like it was waiting for her to leave. But that was impossible right? The Blight was just a disease, so It couldn’t think for itself, and even if it could, it had no business with Avery, so it’s sudden appearance couldn’t be tied

  • A Luna of fire   Dorian’s secret

James’s POV I locked the letter in my desk, feeling puzzled and irritated about its contents. I couldn’t believe Kane had just threatened Avery. My own Avery.I could feel rage bubbling up inside me, but at the same time, a part of my logical brain pointed out that this threat against Avery was completely out of character.Yes Kane had sent threatening laters to us before, especially when we tried plotting something against him, but this felt totally uncalled for.I and my men have purposefully stayed the hell out of Kane’s way, so there was no need for such a letter.I was beginning to feel that something was deeply wrong somewhere. I firmly locked my office and headed to bed to find Lizzy waiting for me in a sheer nightgown. It was clear that she was trying to seduce me, but I wasn’t in that kind of mood tonight."Hey, What's the problem?" she asked when she saw the look on my face."It’s nothing. Don't worry about it," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant but it was cle

  • A Luna of fire   Visiting Lord Gregory

Kane’s POV Avery’s been upset ever since we realized I couldn’t claim her, and it’s been tearing me up inside too. I can feel the pain of not having her deep down in my bones—especially Valkar, my wolf. When he discovered he couldn’t claim the one he wanted, he has become more restless, more possessive, more aggressive with his passion for her than ever before. It’s like he’s trying to make up for the fact that we haven’t been able to mark her, to make her ours in the way that really matters.Since that night, I’ve had the urge to suddenly press Avery against the wall, kiss her out of nowhere, just because I can’t control my need around her. Every time we’ve made love, it’s been with a desperation that I can’t shake. It’s like I’m driven by some primal need to claim her, to make her mine in every way possible. And it’s not just my need—it’s hers too.I was glad to find that Valkar’s aggressive displays of affection seemed to be calming her down too. I remember the night

Author’s note: Hii, thank you so much for reading so far, I’ll really love to extend this book, and give it an Amaizing ending, but that’ll only happen if you like it enough to leave a comment asking me to extend it. Kane’s POV My fist connected with Alex’s jaw, sending him crashing to the ground. I was ready to go again, to teach him a lesson he’d never forget, but Avery’s soft hands were suddenly on my chest, holding me back. “Kane, please,” she whispered, her voice trembling, barely holding me in place as my blood boiled. Alex groaned on the floor, his hand clutching his face as Lord Gregory and that girl called Tania rushed over to him. His eyes flicked up to his father, anger blazing behind them as he spit out, “You see father, It’s her fault! This Avery’s the one who made Kane punch me! She’s nothing but trouble.” Alex moaned. I growled low in my throat, my fists clenched at my sides as I stepped forward again, only for Avery to press harder against my chest. “That’s

  • A Luna of fire   New turmoil

Avery’s POV I raised my glass with everyone else, forcing a smile as Lord Gregory toasted to "bonding as a new family." The words felt like a punch to the gut to me, especially after making it clear that Kane could never marry me, but I tried to ignore the discomfort gnawing at my insides. I didn’t want Kane to see it—he’d been looking at me throughout the night, his eyes full of concern, and I didn’t want him to worry. Sure, I was relieved that Lord Gregory didn’t hate me, that much was clear. But the way he’d urged Kane to take a wife while keeping me as his mistress… that hurt more than I wanted to admit. I couldn’t stomach the feeling of betrayal, or the fear of history trying to repeat itself all over again. The last time this happened, I had been the wife, the Luna to James, while he had my sister as his mistress. The pain of that arrangement had been unbearable, and now it felt like life was trying to twist that knife inside me again but in a different way where my

  • A Luna of fire   Frame up

Avery’s POV He stepped back to admire his handiwork, his eyes raking over me with a predatory hunger that made my breath hitch. I pulled experimentally at the restraints, but they held firm. I was at his mercy now, and the realization sent a wave of heat straight to my core. “Comfortable?” he asked, his tone mocking as he moved back toward the bed. I gave him a defiant look. “You’re enjoying this too much.” “And you’re enjoying pretending you’re not,” he shot back, climbing onto the bed and positioning himself above me. His hands roamed over my body, lingering on the places he knew drove me crazy, teasing me with just the right amount of pressure to make me squirm. “Maybe I am,” I admitted, my voice breathy as I felt his hands slide lower. “But that doesn’t mean I’m going to make it easy for you.” Kane’s eyes darkened with desire as he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against mine. “Oh, I don’t want easy. I want to see you break my Nuri.” His words sent a delici

  • A Luna of fire   An attack

Avery’s POV I woke up to Kane’s soft kisses brushing over my skin, gentle and warm, sending shivers down my spine. His lips moved slowly, from my shoulder to my neck, trailing up to my jawline, each kiss making my heart race. A smile crept onto my face before I even opened my eyes, the sensation filling me with a giddy excitement, like we had just discovered our love for the first time.“Kane…” I murmured sleepily, turning to face him. The sight of him, his dark eyes filled with warmth and affection, made me catch my breath. My twin flame. The other half of my soul. It was still hard to believe that the goddess had united us in this way, that our bond went so much deeper than I had ever imagined.“Morning, love,” he whispered, his voice low and husky. “I couldn’t help myself. You were just too tempting.”I laughed softly, brushing my fingers through his hair. “You’re the tempting one.”His gaze grew more intense, and for a moment, I was lost in it, in him. I could feel the connectio

  • A Luna of fire   Twin flames

Kane’s POVAs I stood in the grand hall, watching Avery make her entrance, I couldn’t help but feel immense pride. She was breathtaking, draped in an elegant gown that shimmered under the lights. Her presence commanded the attention of everyone in the room, and I knew that choosing her as my queen was the best decision I’d ever made. When I announced our engagement, the pride I felt was overwhelming. Most of the pack had reacted with awe and admiration for her. Though I noticed a few disapproving glances, they were drowned out by the applause and the stream of congratulations. My chest swelled with satisfaction. Avery wasn’t just my choice; she was proving herself to be the people’s choice as well. And why wouldn’t they see her value? She was intelligent, compassionate, and stronger than most could imagine. She’d already done so much for the northern lands. From the moment she stepped up to help with the blight, the people saw her not just as their future Luna but as a beacon of ho

  • A Luna of fire   In Dorian’s mind

Dorian’s POV I rolled my eyes as I glanced out the window. Outside, a group of women were gathered in the garden, chattering away, fluttering around my estate as if they were the mistresses of the house. They were dressed in their finest, giggling and casting glances toward my home, hoping I'd notice them. I didn’t.I ignored their attempts to get my attention because they were nothing more than pawns. The only reason I kept them around was because their families were powerful. Greedy nobles, all of them, hungry for status and favor. If I let them believe that, when I became king, I might marry one of their daughters, then they’d remain loyal. And I needed their loyalty, even if it was built on lies. But that wasn’t going to happen. Marriage? To one of them? No. I only wanted one woman. The woman who had consumed my every thought, every breath, since the day I laid eyes on her.Avery.She was the reason I was willing to start this war. Yes, there were other reasons. Things I h

Avery’s POV Katherine smiled knowingly. “Don’t you know yet? You’re pregnant.” She revealed.Brianne gasped and her hand flew to her mouth. “What? How do you know?”Yea I thought, because I and Marie were itching to know too.Katherine chuckled softly. “As a Luna, I have helped dozens of women give birth, dear. I know the signs. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed it yourself.”Brianne looked at us, panic and disbelief in her eyes. “I… I need to take a test. I need to be sure.” I nodded immediately “Let’s do it now,” Marie suggested, her voice calm but excited. “We’ll all wait with you.”We followed Brianne to her room, where she shakily took the test. The minutes seemed to drag on forever as we waited. Finally, Marie checked the result and broke into a huge grin.“Brianne… you’re pregnant!”The room erupted in laughter, tears, and congratulations. Brianne burst into tears, she clearly felt both joy and fear in that moment.“I always wanted children,” she sobbed. “But Ron… h

  • A Luna of fire   Katherine’s past

. Avery’s POV “What…what happened?” Brianne’s voice trembled with shock, and I could only shake my head. I didn’t have an answer. But one thing was clear—I had done that. Somehow, I had cured that small patch of land from the Blight, just like Kane always said i would. “We need to get back to Kane,” I said, my voice steadier than I felt. “He needs to know about this.” The ride back to the castle was a blur. My mind raced with possibilities. If I could heal the land, if my power could dispel the blight, then maybe…maybe we really actually have a chance. Maybe this wasn’t the end. When we arrived, I rushed to Kane’s office, my heart pounding in my chest. Lucian was with him, and as soon as I explained what had happened, they both looked at me with a mixture of shock and hope. “Holy shit! You’re truly ARE the cure,” Lucian said, his voice filled with awe. “You really are the key to stopping this.” He said it like he was only finally believing it after all this time, I cou

  • A Luna of fire   Facing the blight

Avery’s POV He sighed heavily, rubbing his temples before meeting my gaze. “It’s the annual Northern Harvest Festival. With the blight wreaking havoc, we’re facing a dire situation. The crops and animals are suffering. It’s going to be impossible to hold the festival this year. People are too hungry and exhausted to celebrate.”I nodded, recalling from the books his mother forced on me how crucial these festivals were. They weren’t just about celebration—they were a beacon of hope, a chance for the people to come together and see that their leaders cared. Without it, morale could sink, and faith in Kane’s leadership might wane.“I understand why you’re worried,” I said softly. “Festivals like this are more than just traditions. They’re vital for keeping the people’s spirits up. If we skip it, it might send the wrong message—that we’re not doing enough to help them.”Kane looked at me with gratitude for understanding where he was coming from. But then he became frustrated. “I know
