Hi, thanks for reading. Please leave a comment to let me know if you like it.
Tamara's pov Jack continued speaking, "I promise you sweetheart, Kate will only stay with us until she is healed, and after that, I will personally make sure she leaves." I felt a surge of annoyance. This was an old lie he had told me in the past. He had sworn up and down that he would kick Kate out, but he never did. Instead, he laid back and watched as Kate took over everything I owned. And that same thing would happen again if I didn’t find a way to stop them both now. But I couldn't let him see my anger. So I forced another smile and pretended to accept his apology. "Thank you, Jack. I appreciate your concern." Jack moved closer, and caressed my face. “Anything for you my love. You know I would do anything it takes to make you happy. I love you so much Tammie.” He said and I tried very hard not to gag. How could he lie so boldly like that, especially while he was planning to kill me? Jack bent to kiss me, but I turned my face away. "Darling, not tonight, I'm tir
Tamara's POV By sunrise, I called a few of my connections and got the number to reach Alpha Dante. Then I went to a secluded part in our garden, gathered my courage and dialed the number of my former enemy. The phone rang a few times before a sultry feminine voice answered. "This is king Dante's office, who is this and how can I help you?" I took a deep breath. “This is Tamara Hawthorn," I said, "And I would please like to speak with Alpha Dante." There was a pause, and I realized the person on the other end recognized who I was. "Tamara Hawthorn, Luna of the Winter Pack and future wife of Alpha Jack?" the woman asked, her tone becoming colder with each word. "Yes," I confirmed, feeling more tense than before. The voice suddenly turned icy cold. "The King is not available at the moment." I was taken aback by the sudden change in attitude. "Are you sure? I really need to speak with him." I pressed. "The King doesn't talk to the likes of you," she replied
Tamara’s “Who are you talking too?” Jack suddenly asked and I nearly dropped my phone when I turned to see him watching me from a few feet away, his eyes sharp and suspicious. My heart began to race as I fumbled to end the call, before forcing a smile that I hoped looked more natural than it felt. “Who were you talking to?” Jack asked again but I thought I could hear suspicion in his voice and in the way he was looking at me. I swallowed hard, trying to maintain my cool. “Oh, just my mum,” I lied. “She wanted to catch up and talk about the wedding.” Jack’s eyes lingered on me, like he wasn’t fully convinced and my mind began to race then, because what if he’d heard any part of my conversation with King Dante? What if he truly became suspicious of me? Shit! I couldn’t let him find out I knew any of his plans yet. I couldn’t let him suspect anything before I got a chance to start my revenge. I had to distract him. Without thinking, I moved closer to him and pressed my lips
Tamara’s POV As soon as Jack was out of sight, I rushed to my room, and went straight to the closet. It was time to begin my plan. I shoved aside the soft, delicate dresses Jack liked me to wear and reached for the boldest, most daring outfit I had. It was a leather warrior set, black and fierce, with intricate gold and silver designs that gleamed in the light. The material hugged my body in all the right places, showcasing both my curves but still making me look powerful. It was a piece specifically made for a Luna. It commanded attention, and respect, so Jack hated it when I wore it. He didn’t like the fact that whenever I wore it, every single pair of eyes always ignored him to focus on me. It was perfect. I turned to the mirror and started applying a little makeup. That was another thing Jack had never allowed me to do in my past life. He used to say that he didn’t want me looking too good, because he was afraid that someone would realize how beautiful I was
Tamara’s POV I felt rage bubbling inside me, but I forced myself to remain calm. This wasn’t the time to lose control. I needed to keep my head clear so I could act well. Katie wasn’t just sitting in the Luna’s chair, she was sitting very intimately with Jack, her hands were on his chest and her body was practically draped over him, making my blood boil even more. She was in my seat. With my warriors, and my fiancé and she was acting like she belonged there, my vision turn red. But as soon as Katie saw me standing at the door, she yanked herself away from Jack as if she’d been burned. But the damage was already done. I realized with a sickening clarity that they didn’t even bother to hide their affair in front of everyone else. No, they only pretended in front of me because they thought I was too naïve, too blindly in love with Jack, to ever believe anyone else who told me the truth Well jokes on them, I already knew everything. The whole room had frozen when i b
Tamara’s POV I blinked, not fully processing what he had just said. “What?” My voice came out more shocked than I intended.Jack gave me that practiced, fake sympathetic look that begged me to be understanding. “Please Tamara, as a good Luna, you should try to show compassion and kindness to your people, especially your sister. Katie is still healing,” he explained, as if that somehow justified what he was asking. “And since you’ve been so kind to her, I thought… maybe you could allow her to go with me instead of with you? She’s never attended a glamorous event like this before, and maybe it could help cheer her up.”I stared at him in disbelief. In our previous life, he had allowed me to attend the festival, but he also brought Kate with us—that day turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare. I was humiliated in front of the other alphas and forced to stand in the background, while Jack paraded Kate around like she was his fiancée instead of me. But this time, I had plans
Tamara’s POV As soon as I finally stepped away from the crowd, Violet came up beside me, her face a mixture of concern and curiosity. “Tamara, how are you doing?” she asked, her voice soft but serious and I realized she had overheard the drama between Jack, Katie and I.I smiled, trying to push down the whirlwind of emotions brewing inside me. “I’m okay. Why do you ask?”Violet glanced around, making sure no one was within earshot before leaning closer. “I have something important to tell you.”My interest piqued, and I turned fully toward her. “What is it?”Violet hesitated, “I think you need to sit down first,” she said and pulled me into a chair, before sitting with me.“So what is it?” I asked, genuinely curious.Violet nervously bit her lip before finally blurting out, “Jack and Katie… I think, no, I know they’re having an affair.” She said and tensed up, waiting for my reaction.A loud laugh burst out of me before I could stop it. I was actually expecting something wors
Tamara's POV I went to bed that night fully expecting to be drugged. It was strange, this feeling of déjà vu that had been creeping over me ever since I was reborn into this life. I knew exactly what was going to happen. Jack was going to offer me that same warm milk he always did, the one that I’d once thought was a simple gesture of affection. But now, after everything I had remembered, I knew better. The milk was laced with sleeping tablets. It had to be. As I lay there, pretending to be engrossed in a book, I noticed Jack out of the corner of my eye. He was standing near the door, holding the glass of milk, but there was a hesitation in his movements that wasn’t usually there. His eyes seemed to linger on me more than usual, like he was weighing his options, or maybe trying to gauge if I suspected anything."Are you okay?" I asked softly, lowering my book and glancing up at him.Jack blinked, quickly masking whatever thoughts had been playing across his mind with a charming smil
