Kayla’s POV

I stood frozen, completely stunned, as the words left Candice’s mouth.

“Alpha Adrian’s wife.”

My lips parted, but no sound came out.

Wife?

Alpha Adrian was married?

Candice’s glare intensified, her arms crossing over her chest as she took a slow, deliberate step closer to me.

“And you,” she said coldly, looking me up and down, “How do you have the audacity to be here when you claim to just work for my husband?”

I swallowed hard, but my throat felt dry.

“This boutique is meant for the Alpha’s family, not some… mere worker,” she sneered.

Before I could find my voice, Ingrid suddenly rushed in, looking panicked.

She bowed deeply in front of Candice.

“My apologies, Lady Candice,” Ingrid said quickly. “Alpha Adrian personally requested for Kayla to be brought here.”

Candice’s eyes flashed with fury.

“What?” she snapped. “And why would he do that?”

Ingrid hesitated. “I…I don’t know ma'am but he explicitly instructed me to bring her here ma'am."

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Dinner with Adrian

Kayla’s POV I stared in shock, my hand still gripping the doorknob as I processed the sight in front of me. Alpha Adrian was standing in my doorway. Tall, handsome, imposing, and undeniably intimidating, yet somehow calm and casual, as if there was no place he'd rather be. “I’ve come to take you to dinner,” he said smoothly, his deep voice sending a shiver down my spine. I blinked. Once. Twice. Had I heard that correctly? “…What?” I finally managed to say. “Ingrid said you didn't want to come to dinner,” Adrian said, stepping into my room as if he owned the place—which, to be fair, he did. “So, I came to get you.” I swallowed hard, my heart pounding for no reason. I quickly stepped back, putting space between us. “I—uh—I’m not hungry,” I lied quickly. At that exact moment, my stomach betrayed me with a loud, humiliating growl. Heat rushed to my face. Adrian arched an eyebrow, his lips twitching. “Not hungry, huh? Wanna try another excuse?" I blushed harder, pressing

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Awful Dinner

Kayla’s POV “What the fuck is she doing here?” Candice spat, her voice laced with venom. The moment Candice walked into the dining hall, I felt my entire body tense. It was like stepping into ice-cold water—shocking, numbing, and sending a wave of dread through me. Of course, she was here. I should have known this dinner wouldn’t go smoothly. A scowl twisted her pretty face, clearly not expecting to see me here. Her gaze flickered to Adrian, as if demanding an explanation. When she didn’t get one, her lips pressed together tightly before she turned her glare back on me. Adrian, who had been relaxed beside me tensed and sighed. He slowly sat down, his expression darkening as he turned his piercing gaze on Candice. “She,” Adrian said smoothly, though there was a dangerous edge to his voice, “is my guest. And you will speak to her with respect.” A stunned silence fell over the room. Candice’s face turned bright red—part embarrassment, part fury. She clenched her fists, her nail

Kayla's POVI watched with a lump in my throat as Candice continued to stroke Alpha Adrian’s arm, her delicate fingers trailing up and down as if she had every right to touch him so intimately in front of everyone. My stomach twisted, and I had no idea why. It wasn’t jealousy—I had no reason to feel that way. But something about the way she clung to him like he was hers made my skin crawl.Candice batted her lashes at him even more. “So… does this mean I’m no longer banned from the boutique?” Her voice was sultry, dripping with fake sweetness. She tilted her head, pressing herself subtly against his side.I expected Adrian to give in, to let this go like most men would when a beautiful woman pouted at them. But instead, he shocked everyone.“No,” Adrian said firmly. “You’re still banned. You must be punished for lying about my guest.”Candice stiffened, her expression twisting from seductive to furious in an instant. Her nails dug into his sleeve before she yanked her hand back like

Kayla’s POV Darkness surrounded me, pulling me under like an deadly sea. But faint voices echoed in the distance, breaking through the void. “Kayla! Stay with me, damn it!” That voice. Deep, rough with panic. Alpha Adrian. I felt my body being lifted, strong arms holding me tightly. My head lolled against a firm chest as the sound of hurried footsteps and frantic voices filled the air. “She passed out from pain—get out of my way!” Adrian snarled. “Alpha—” “I don’t want one doctor—I want two! I want the best medical team working on her immediately,” he barked. “I don’t care what it takes. She needs the best treatment possible.” The desperation in his voice sent a dull ache through my chest. The best treatment. A cruel memory suddenly resurfaced—one I had buried deep inside. “Doctor, treat Mia first,” Xavier’s cold voice had rung through the hospital room. “She’s carrying my child.” I had been lying on the hospital bed, barely conscious, blood soaking through my gown. Kayla’s POVThe hospital air smelled sterile, the walls too white, the bedsheets too stiff. I should have been relieved to be leaving, but instead, my body felt heavier than it had ever been. The moment I stepped outside the hospital doors, the warm afternoon breeze touched my skin, but even that couldn’t lift the weight pressing down on my chest. Then I saw him.Alpha Adrian stood by a sleek black SUV, his sharp golden eyes locked onto me the second I appeared. He wasn’t just here to send someone to pick me up—he had come himself. He was leaning against the car, arms crossed, but as soon as he saw me, he straightened and strode forward. Without a word, he carefully lifted me into his arms.“Adrian, I can walk,” I muttered, my voice weak.“You don’t have to,” he said simply, carrying me as if I weighed nothing.I was too tired to argue. He gently placed me in the passenger seat, buckled my seatbelt himself, and only after making sure I was comfortable did he walk around to the driver’

Kayla’s POVEver since Adrian's mother, who I heard is called Lady Catherine told Adrian about his stepbrother’s visit, something about him had changed. He was still attentive—still the man who carried me to bed, still the man who wiped my face with a warm towel when I was too drained to do it myself. But now, there was an edge to him, a restlessness he couldn’t seem to shake.I caught it in the way his eyes darkened even more when he thought no one was looking, in the way his fingers drummed against the wooden desk when he sat with me during meals.A week had passed, and I had mostly recovered. My body was still adjusting, but I was strong enough to move around on my own now.And yet, Adrian still insisted on tending to me.The only thing he didn’t do was help me in the bathroom. That was the one thing he let Ingrid handle.Which gave me an idea. When Adrian was in the middle of brushing my hair—something he had stubbornly taken upon himself—I cleared my throat. “I need to use the re

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Hector and Lady Elizabeth

Kayla’s POV I couldn’t move. Adrian's brother was stunning. Ingrid had previously told me that his name was Hector. He had the same powerful presence as Adrian, but there was something more… polished about him. His sharp jawline and piercing blue eyes made it impossible to look away. But it wasn’t just his looks that shocked me—it was the way he carried himself. Confident. Effortless. Like he already knew he owned the room. it stunned me. Then, another figure emerged from the car behind him. A woman. And not just any woman—a stunningly beautiful older woman. Her golden-blonde hair was styled in perfect waves, and her soft features were enhanced by flawless makeup. She moved with the grace of royalty, her long emerald-green dress flowing behind her like liquid silk. She stepped up beside Adrian's brother, her hand rested lightly on his arm. It soon became clear that this was Hector’s mother. Lady Elizabeth. “Oh, how lovely,” Lady Catherine sneered, her voice drip

Adrian's POV I stared at the council letter on my desk, barely reading the damn thing before I tossed it aside. Same message as before—. “We urge you to reconsider. Candice is the suitable choice,” “the pack’s stability depends on your union,” “Lady Kayla is an unnecessary liability.” Liability, my ass. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes, trying to push the pressure out of my head before it split me in two. But a knock at the door shattered the quiet. “Come in,” I growled. The door opened and my mother stepped in. Regal. Cold. Dressed like she hadn’t aged a day since she last manipulated me into something I didn’t want. “I assume you’ve read the council’s latest suggestion?” she said coolly, shutting the door behind her. “You mean their latest threat?” I snapped. “Yeah. I read it.” She moved further in, clasping her hands. “Adrian, don’t make this harder than it needs to be. Marry Candice, have a child, stabilize the power dynamic, and all of this goes away.” I lau

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    The Oracle's sanctuary

Kayla's POV The Oracle’s sanctuary was unlike anything I’d ever seen. Nestled between jagged cliffs and fog-kissed forest, it looked like something out of a dream—an ancient village carved into the side of the mountain, hidden by thick trees and magic I could feel in the air. The wind here didn’t just whistle—it whispered.Inside the stone structures, warm fires crackled, glowing crystals lined the walls, and soft voices murmured in languages I didn’t understand. The women—so many women—moved with laughter and freedom. Some were young, barely teenagers. Others carried themselves like warriors, scarred and strong.“These women…” I whispered as I helped one of the girls settle into a room with a cot and thick wool blankets. “They’re like a tribe.”“They are,” Ingrid said softly beside me. “They protect those who can’t protect themselves. Most of them were once like the girls we brought in. Broken. Scared. Hunted.”The girl we tucked in—her name was Lyra—clung to my arm as I tried to

Adrian's POV I jolted awake from the nightmare, heart pounding, drenched in sweat.“Kayla!” I gasped, reaching for her—only to grab empty sheets. The nightmare still clung to me like a second skin. Her voice echoed in my ears, accusing, devastated."You didn’t protect me, Adrian. You left me. you let them take me."Her eyes… they had looked so real. So broken. I sat at the edge of my bed, head in my hands, trying to shake off the chill that settled into my bones. It wasn’t just a dream. It was a warning of the future or guilt of that night, or maybe both.A loud knock came at the door. Logan entered without waiting.“Alpha, They’ve summoned you... Immediately,” he said grimly. “They are at the Council hall and Augustine’s leading.”Of course he is.I stood without a word, already pulling on my shirt. Logan followed behind, tension radiating off him.“What are they charging me with now?” I muttered.Logan hesitated. “They’re saying you're emotionally compromised. That Lady Kayla has m

Kayla's first person POV Suddenly, out of nowhere, There was a strange surge of power, an energy I couldn’t explain, rushing through me. The air crackled with raw force, and suddenly, the ground beneath my feet seemed to pulse. I focused all my energy into a single thought: protect them. Protect my loved ones. A barrier of shimmering light exploded outward from me, knocking the wolves back with a deafening crash. The force of it sent the creatures sprawling, but they began to recover slowly, snarling and trying to get up. My heart pounded in my chest, but I didn’t back down. This energy—it was like I knew how to use it, like it had always been there, waiting for me to tap into it even though I didn't know what it was. Hector and Ingrid stared at me, their eyes wide with disbelief. I couldn’t explain what had just happened, but the sensation of power was overwhelming. “You… You did that?” Hector’s voice was tight, almost fearful. I nodded, still trying to catch my breath. “I d

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    The climb

Kayla's first person POV The journey through the mountains felt like it was never going to end. Ingrid never told me it was going to be this tough, if she did, I wouldn't have been as enthusiastic about coming here as I was last night. Nothing would have stopped me from coming here though. The air grew painfully thinner as we ascended, the crisp wind cutting into my skin like sharp needles. I soon found myself gasping for breath, feeling each step strain my muscles. It was exhausting, but the alternative—staying behind like a coward while Hector, Ingrid, and the others trekked up without me—was unthinkable. Plus I badly needed answers too. So, I pushed through, even though every part of me screamed for rest. “You alright?” Hector’s voice cut through the sharp mountain air, his face creased with concern as he glanced back at me. “I’m fine,” I lied, pushing myself harder, my boots scraping against the rocky ground. But I couldn’t help the way my chest felt tight with each

Kayla's POV I hadn’t realized how empty my heart would feel until the silence settled in.Days had passed—or maybe just hours—I couldn’t tell anymore. Time didn’t move the same without Adrian. Every second felt heavier, like it dragged its feet just to remind me that I was far away from him.I sat curled up on the cold cot in the far corner of the cave, arms wrapped around my knees, heart aching in a way I didn’t think was possible. I hadn’t spoken much since Hector and Ingrid brought me here. The girls were kind, but I was distant. Lost.I missed him.Goddess, I missed him.His scent. His voice. The way his arms wrapped around me like I was something precious. The way he said my name like it was his favorite word.Sleep didn’t come easily, but when it did, I dreamed of him. Always him. Adrian's POV The torture chamber reeked of Xavier's blood, rust, and secrets. Xavier sat in the middle of it, chained to the chair like he had no care in the world. But his bloodied nose from where I punched him multiple times told a different story. His head was tilted back lazily against the wall to stop the blood flow.He had one leg bouncing, and that same smug smile plastered across his face like he wasn’t moments away from being torn apart again. “I’d ask if you’re comfortable,” I muttered, my voice low and venom-laced, “but I honestly don’t give a damn.” Xavier’s eyes flicked toward me, amusement dancing in them. “Adrian,” he said with mock warmth. “So tense. You really should relax. It’s not good for the heart. Or the woman you're sleeping with.” I nearly lost it right then. His casual mention of Kayla lit a fuse inside me, one I was desperately trying to smother before i personally drove out to burn down his entire pack house. “I’ll ask one more time,” I growled, step
