Adam's Visit

***Vanessa's POV***

“A visitor?”

I can't wrap my head around inviting anyone to the company.

“What's the name of this visitor, please?”

“Oh, it's Mr. Adam, Stone.”

The moment the name left my secretary's lips, I instantly felt nauseous, and my heart began to pound faster and louder in my chest.

Did I hear her correctly? Adam's is here? But how?

“Excuse me, did you just say, Adam Stone?” I asked, just to be sure.

“Yes, ma'am. And he's waiting out here for you.”

It seemed as if there's a thick lump in my throat, and so I swallowed hard and cleared my throat. Why am I like this? It's not like the world is about coming to an end. I can't be scared now, and it's not like I did something wrong for me to be scared.

“Send him in,” I said with confidence laced in my voice.”

“Okay, ma'am, right away.”

As soon as my secretary left the office, I quickly rearranged myself. It's not like there's something wrong with my outfit or makeup and goddess knows why I'm trying to look good in this sta
