Ariana's POV
“What do you mean you have to go see someone?” I heard my fiance ask, and I hissed in frustration wondering why he never understood a word I said.
“It is just as I said. I have to meet someone today, and I don't think you can stop me,” I deadpanned, and went to sit in front of the vanity table while touching up my makeup.
“You are one cocky princess, aren't you?" He mocked, and my grip on my make-up brush tightened hearing his demeaning words but that's Blaine Sanders for you.
Blaine Sanders is my fiance, and we are getting married in a week's time, and just like other couples you might think that we are brimming with love but we are different. We couldn't even stand the sight of each other, but that was only for him though. I could stare at Blaine for the whole day because he was the man you could call an eye candy. He was blessed with awesome features that made him stand out among his peers.
“Are you even listening to what I am saying?” he asked standing beside me, and he lowered his head to my shoulder while his breath fanned my neck.
“What…are you doing, Mr. Sanders?" I asked my voice coming out cold, and not depicting any ounce of warmth I felt inside with the man's actions.
“We have a flight to catch by 10, but you suddenly want to meet up with your boyfriend now. Do you think that is sensible?” he asked, and I hissed in frustration.
If I hadn't known him this much now, I would have said that he was jealous. But I knew better than that. He was a cold man who wouldn't do anything that was not going to benefit him, and that was the reason he was agreeing to the marriage in the first place.
“Boyfriend? I am not some loose girl, Mr. Sanders. I am going out to see a friend, and not a boyfriend - huge difference,” I explained, but I could bet that he doesn't care.
“None of my business. But if truly Miss Bernardo is going then you should be back by 8, or I could swear that you would catch another flight to California,” he says with a blank face, and I knew he wasn't joking.
What an upright man he is! Note the sarcasm.
“And I think that's my cue to leave if I wanted to meet my friend, who looked just like me,” I beamed, and I saw him shake his head.
“I don't care what you did, just make sure you come back on time…and alive,” he deadpanned, and I wondered why he was always not positive. I even wondered if the marriage was going to work.
*******************************************
I got out of the cab and strolled to the front of the mall only to find it empty, and I sighed seeing that I was 30 minutes late, she must have gotten tired and left.
“This is bad, I didn't even get her number,” I mumbled under my breath, running my hands through my hair in frustration. I decided to leave, seeing that our fate didn't allow for a second meeting, but my sight caught something.
I looked at the phone on the floor, and I looked at it to see the picture of Rihanna on it, and I could tell that she was an avid fan, but before I could turn it off the face unlock of the phone activated, and I was surprised to find the phone unlocked.
“Oh, but I am not the owner!” I exclaimed, but I smiled seeing that it might be because we looked the same.
I wondered what I should do with the phone, but my eyes twitched knowing that she might be in a hurry to leave which led to leaving her phone behind because she wanted to receive an urgent call.
“Let's see what she has in her call logs,” I mumbled under my breath, and my eyes lingered on the unknown number that called her for the last time, and I decided to pry.
I called the last number, and I was shocked to hear what happened, and I knew that was enough reason for her to leave without looking back. She must have been terrified.
I stopped a cab, and I gave the driver the address of the place I was going to.
“Can you please drive faster? I need to catch a flight after leaving this place,” I urged the driver hurriedly, and he stepped on the gas.
“I hope I can help her sort out her bills,” I mumbled under my breath feeling guilty about the whole thing, and I don't know why I felt so much connection to a girl I just met some hours ago.
“And it was Blaine's fault.. that cocky prince should have let me leave earlier,” I complained, and I raised my head to see a frightening sight ahead of our car.
My eyes widened in shock seeing that the truck was rushing towards us. “Take a turn! Take a turn!!” I screamed trying to get the driver to turn but it was too late.
The sound of the truck colliding with our car filled the air, and my head felt light after hitting the car rest, and when I thought that was the end, I felt another collision from the back of the car, and the car window beside me shattered, and shards pierced my face. I raised my head to look at the unconscious driver, and I knew I needed to get help for us since I was still conscious. That was my thought.
I opened the car door weakly, and I walked out of the car, but my strength betrayed me, and my eyes dilated slowly but I felt a glint of hope when I saw a black shoe in front of me.
“Please, save me!” I begged but that was the last thing I remembered as I felt my vision blur, and my heavy eyelids drooped close.
Camilla's POVI walked towards the door after seeing my mom and seeing the grave look on his face, I knew all was not well.“Are you the patient's guardian?” the middle-aged doctor asked me, and I nodded my head slowly. “I am sorry to inform you but your mother has stage 2 stomach cancer,” he announced, and a gasp left my mouth. My eyes got misty at the news, and I felt sorry for my mom. How could she have coped with the symptoms without me getting to know?“Doctor, please save her!” I begged, and he explained that the cancer hadn't spread, and it could be operated on. “But the money for the surgery is $50,000 , and the follow up care will be quite expensive”, he explained, and my face went pale after hearing his words.I walked out of the doctor's room, and I had run out of energy after hearing the bills, but I knew I had to think of ways to find it.“Get your act together, Camilla! Your mother has to live, and…" I was saying but I trailed off knowing there was no way I could cough o
Camilla's POVI walked gently towards the hospital room, and I was surprised to find the girl who had the same face as me lying lifelessly on the bed with different machines attached to her body.“She is going to survive right?” I asked the cold man beside me almost choking on my tears, and he sighed. “Yes, but not soon, and that's why I need you,” he says, and I scoff at hearing his words. He was briefed on what he wanted from me, and I couldn't believe that he could do that to his fiance. How could he want me to pretend to be his bride on the day of their wedding? Does that even make sense?“I don't think I can do that, your fiance is still sick, and I don't think…” I was saying but he cut me off.“I am sure that is what she would also want this, better than having all the country sympathizing with her she is going to want this too," he says, but I wasn't convinced. There was no way a woman would be comfortable with another woman dating her man, and I knew that Ariana was going to b
Camilla's POV“I really think that we should have waited till my mother's surgery,” I said solemnly while walking beside the man as we walked through the airport.“Really? But my stocks can't wait,” Blaine beamed, and I scoffed, wondering how a man could be so ruthless. He doesn't even have an ounce of responsibility.“Are you always treating her like this too?" I asked out of whim, and the man's steps halted immediately hearing my words, and I bit my lips knowing that I had just gone back on my words. Before we left Paris the man warned me not to refer to Ariana at all because I am now Ariana, but it looks like I need much intervention in controlling my tongue.“Looks like you need a reminder, Miss Ariana but you don't dare spurt a word out of your mouth referring to another person which is you,” he warned, sneering at me coldly, and I nodded my head at him.“Don't mind me,” I say, bowing my head, and I watched his assistant rush up to us, and that was when I noticed that people were
Camilla's POV“Why are you not saying anything Ariana?” the lady asked, scrutinizing me with her eyes, and I bit my lips anxiously hearing her words. What am I to say? Do I say no, I am not Ariana but her substitute, and that's why I don't remember you. I wondered, and I hoped that Blaine was going to arrive and save me from the trouble.“I…I..” I was trying to find the best lie to save myself from the trouble but I heard a cold voice behind me.“What is going on here?” I heard Blaine's cold voice behind me, and I felt relieved to hear his voice, and I have never longed for someone as I longed for him that much.I noticed the girl disturbing me looked flustered seeing Blaine, and she rearranged her hair and tried to look presentable. What was that?“Oh, Mr. Sanders, you are here? I am only trying to make Ariana comfortable..” she was saying but Blaine cut her off coldly. “Ariana? Don't you think you are too comfortable with your future madame? You guys are not even friends,” Blaine sa
CAMILA's POV:I froze, my heart racing as I stared at the beautiful woman who looked exactly like me, exactly like Arianna, staring at us with wide questioning eyes."I-I……." I stammered, thinking of the best way to escape this situation but my mind was blank. "W-we were…."I stopped talking immediately. Blaine's eyes locked onto mine, a warning sign to keep quiet which I so desperately wanted to do but it was already too late. The woman whom I suspected to as Arainna's mother was looking at us and I wouldn't be surprised if she had already heard our conversations. No one answered the woman but my mind reeled with numerous possibilities and actions of escape. I knew I had to do something or else, I would be in prison for impersonating and pretending to be a wealthy heiress when I was only a singer in a local bar.Who's to say Blaine wouldn't forsake me when my cover is blown?"Nothing, Mother," I tried to cover up, forcing a wide smile onto my face. "Just a little controversy with Mr.
Blaine's POV"Ca.. Arianna we have to leave now" I called out coldly to my fiancee's doppelganger who was taking her time in the restroom. She became pressed all of a sudden but I'm not that easy to decieve. I could tell from her pale expression that she was already drained from the recent changes that had abruptly occured in her life.Having pity on the weak was never my thing. My family's business is the only thing I solely care about and I wouldn't mind using anyone at my disposal, even if it means altering their life's course. The turning of the doorknob to the restroom jolted me from my thoughts as I averted my gaze to Ariana."I'm ready, let's go" she mumbled feigning innocence at the fact that she had delayed on purpose and avoiding my gaze which made me scoff inwardly. "I have always controlled every action. She isn't the first and wouldn't be the last" I thought to myself as I took long strides to the car."Mr. Sanders, wait for me" I heard her say from a quite long distance. I
Camilla's POVThe whole scenario was beginning to take a toll on me. From Ariana's disappearance to dealing with her mother and now this narcissist of a man just won't let me be for a short while. My mother's illness was a constant reminder for me anytime the thought of backing out of the present circumstances popped up in my head.Blaine's nudge jolted me from my thoughts. " Go wait in my office, I'll send my assistant to you" that was what I heard him say. The gaze of the directors,if that's what they're called, were fixed on me. It felt like they were contemplating on whether to welcome me and when they finally did,I responded jovially.Suddenly,I realized that I made a wrong move. The real Ariana never paid heed to the greetings of any being below her status. The shocked expression on their faces proved it all.I felt a tickling breath on my ear and shivered slightly."You're in big shit"Blaine whispered to me with a piercing gaze that was strong enough to strike me down,if it was
Camilla's POV"This is my penthouse. When we get married officially, we'll move to the mansion which was meant to be the family's main house", Blaine explained as soon as the driver parked in front of a large house that was screaming luxury."What the hell???" I was flabbergasted. A house as big and expensive as this one was just temporary, there was still a main house. What guts do these rich people have to throw money away like that? My anger was at its peak. I couldn't even sort out my own mother's hospital bills and had to rely on a pompous show off to pay it."Welcome home master and milady" an old man who walked out of the building greeted with a bow and led the way into the house. As if sensing my curiousity, Blaine whispered to me "this is the house butler, Charles. He knows about your true identity so don't bother putting up an act"I raised an eyebrow at his words "how come he knows?" I asked."I don't hide anything from him. He's one of my closest person and you can always a
Ariana POVAs I entered the room, all eyes swiveled towards me with a palpable sense of incredulity. "Ariana?" Blaine breathed out in a daze of astonishment and bewilderment. After hearing about the attack, my heart was racing as I replied, "Yes it's me. I came right away."Blaine inquired with an aura of tension, "What brings you here?""I needed to witness it firsthand. There's a lot that has gone awry, and I believe it is high time we have a conversation," I stated while glancing back and forth at Marcus, Elena, and Cherry who remained quiet in the distance."You want to talk about what?" Marcus challenged, defensively crossing his arms. "After being in a coma and suddenly showing up now? We thought you were...""I understand," I reassured him, my voice now calm and composed. "Although he may be gone, I am alive. After all, I was hospitalized for the purpose of recuperating.""What do you mean recover? Is it from your accident?" Elena asked, her eyes narrowing."I unearthed somethi
Marcus POVAs the gunshot reverberated through the air, it seemed to herald an ominous fate. Suddenly alert and tense with a rush of adrenaline, I whipped around to face the masked figures whose demeanor had now changed from self-assuredness to bewilderment. My heart was thudding as I demanded in a loud voice: "What on earth just occurred?"The leader shouted, "Keep your distance!" as he pointed his gun at Blaine. His eyes betrayed hints of terror - clearly the sudden outburst had caught him off-guard.With my heart racing, I yelled Blaine's name and swiftly positioned myself between him and the assailant. "We must flee this place at once!" I exclaimed with a surge of adrenaline.Blaine commanded the crowd to calm down, his voice unwavering despite the heightened atmosphere. "It's in everyone's best interest for this situation not to intensify."A second collision echoed from the rear of the estate, accompanied by footfall sounds before we could respond. "We have company," I whispered
Elena POVAs the silhouette in the darkness pulled a sly grin, I felt my heart surge. It turned out to be Cherry Hill, Blaine's initial flame. "Oh look what we have here," she jeered as she made her way into view under the spotlight.Asking Cherry what she was doing there, I attempted to maintain a steady tone."Simply relishing the performance. You both seem remarkably intimate," she retorted, her gaze sparkling mischievously."Go away, Cherry. We're not interested in playing games," snapped Marcus as he guarded me defensively."My dear, this is anything but a game," she declared with heavy sarcasm. "I've been privy to some rather interesting details regarding your beloved initiative.""Cherry, tell me your desire," Marcus stated with tense fists. Her expression calculating, she responded: "I possess information that has the potential to either benefit or harm you."I questioned her motives and asked, "What is your reason for helping us?"Cherry twirled a strand of hair around her fi
Marcus POVThe intensity of our shared purpose had strengthened the bond between Elena and me. However, as time went on, we both felt increasingly burdened by the enormity of our duties. I completed my morning routine and found Elena sitting at the dining table deep in concentration, her brow furrowed while she stared intently at her laptop screen. As I poured myself a cup of coffee, I inquired, "Are you okay?"Abruptly, she gazed upwards with a blend of worry and resolve etched onto her face. "I've been analyzing our social media engagement numbers," she stated firmly. "Unfortunately, we're not gaining ground."Leaning in, I was fascinated. "What are you trying to say? Didn't our previous rally go smoothly?"Her response came as such, "Although it had an initial boost in engagement, we have observed a decline. Hence, we must seek ways to rekindle interest," she stated while tapping her fingers on the keyboard".I proposed, "Let's arrange a subsequent event - one that showcases the pe
ELENA POVAs we embraced each other, basking in our shared heat, the environment around us dissolved into nothingness. Though unremarkable at first glance, this instance of togetherness conveyed immeasurable depths about our relationship and the path we traveled together. As the night descended, we retreated to the interior of our abode where a tranquil ambiance enveloped us. Our companions had dispersed for the evening, leaving us with an unusual moment of seclusion."Maybe we could watch a movie or something?" Marcus proposed with a playful tone.I chuckled at the sheer simplicity of the idea. "That seems to be just what we need! Perhaps something light?"Seated on the couch, bathed in the soothing radiance of TV illumination, a much-needed sense of routine permeated through me as we watched those opening scenes - an undeniable comfort amidst our otherwise frenzied existence. As we watched the movie, our interaction was filled with fun teasing and fleeting chuckles; it was a clear s
MARCUS POVI was deeply moved by her genuineness, so I grasped her hand and weaved our fingers together. "Elena, my sentiments are mutual. We shall stand united through thick and thin."Her words touched me deeply with their sincerity, prompting an irresistible urge to draw closer. I leaned in and gently captured her lips with a kiss.As we kissed, the world stood still and time seemed to stretch on endlessly. The soft warmth of her lips conveyed a hopeful future for us as one unit.As we eventually separated, I nestled my forehead against hers and felt a definite bond between us. "I've been desiring to do that for some time," I disclosed in a hushed tone. Her laughter was a melody that elevated my mood and she said, "I'm happy you did."As we stayed there, holding one another tight, the struggles of life faded away. Though a modest moment in appearance, it was profound in illustrating our shared progress and unshakable connection. As the glowing sun descended below the horizon, color
ELENA POVHe softened his gaze and moved closer, providing a constant reassurance. "Elena, I share your feelings. We are united in this venture through thick and thin."His words were brimming with sincerity and they stirred something deep within me. I couldn't ignore the urge to move closer to him, so I leaned in and planted a tender kiss on his lips.As the moment stretched into eternity, it felt as though the entire world was holding its breath. His warm and tender lips against mine seemed to hold a promise of endless possibilities for what we could become together. As we finally bid goodbye, I leaned my forehead onto his and felt the palpable bond that existed between us. The excitement around us grew stronger, resulting in an inundation of inquiries for interviews and collaborations that became overwhelming. MARCUS POVThe day following the rally appeared like a tranquil aftermath of charged emotions. The atmosphere was chilly and still, as if the planet waited in anticipation after our achievement. I stood next to the window overlooking the garden; my mind still teemed with vigor from yesterday's event. Our demonstration proved an immense victory that underscored both our resolution and solidarity.Elena accompanied me, her calm aura unchanged. Her hair was disheveled from resting and she held a teacup emitting steam in the chilly atmosphere. Her voice soft and warm, she greeted him with a "good morning."I responded, facing her. "Good morning. How do you feel today after yesterday?"With a smile and excited eyes that reflected my own enthusiasm, she expressed her feeling of being both exhilarated and slightly overwhelmed. The incredible turnout had taken her by surprise.Recalling the sea of faces and applause, I nodded in satisfaction. "Our impact was truly amazing."Together we stood
