It has been two months since Victory Sinclair has disappeared from the face of the earth.
Well, technically that is not true because she is still very much alive and kicking.
The fact is, the billionaire heiress has simply disappeared from the New York scene only to reappear in the picturesque city of Lucerne, Switzerland.
Since the wedding fiasco, Victory had left everything behind in New York and chosen to live her life as a student in Europe.
Her mind wandered to Liana, the dark-haired, hazel eyed, petite Italian whom she seems to have formed an attachment to. Over the past few weeks, both she and Liana have settled into a comfortable schedule together. On weekdays, they would have breakfast, amble to class, grab lunch or dinner and then return to the room that they share. While on weekends, they would roam the quaint city of Lucerne and try to explore any hidden gems in the city.
Despite being caught red
Hi! What do you think of this new development? I look forward to reading your comments. xx F.A.R. Ps: Do give me some gems and share your review for the book. Thank you!
3 Months Later Victory was lugging four massive luggage bags from the conveyor belt onto her trolley. Ugh! Why do winter clothes take too much space?! She grumbled inwardly, clenching her jaw as she hoisted one luggage on top of the other. Only three months in Europe and her luggage seems to have procreated itself. One of her luggage contained only her winter jackets while another two held all her winter outfits. The fourth luggage contained cooking utensils and various pots and pans which was brought from Lucerne because Victory intends to cook once she settles down in New York. She is starting to think that perhaps bringing all those pots and pans back with her may not be such a good idea. "It's not as if I can't buy them in New York. I am such a nincompoop!" Victory muttered vexedly under her breath as she tried to navigate the heavy trolley and avoid bumping into the throng of trave
"Mom, Dad, I'm pregnant." Yep, that's how we Sinclairs greet each other after a long absence. Unlike other people who would normally say hello, or ask how do you do, I decided to confess immediately whenI saw my parents in the living room. The same parents who had accepted my feeble apology after I ran out from my own wedding, causing them to endure public humiliation. Perhaps I am finally embracing the spoiled rich kid persona as what the media have labelled me to be.I suppose you could say that the new me is a big fan of theatrics because there is nothing quite like dropping a bomb right smack in front your parents faces and watching their pleasantexpressions contort into pure shock. So wicked were my thoughts thatIhalf expected my dad to suddenly sprinkle me with holy water and exclaim dramatically, now that I have confessed, all my past sins are forgiven by the Lord. My apologies, I seem to have diverged
It has been two weeks after she had given birth to Astor, the blue eyed, dark haired bouncing baby who is now terrorising both her days and nights. Whoever invented the saying, sleep like a baby probably never had one. Despite his cherubic face and utterly adorable tiny fingers and tiny toes, Astor's cries could probably wake up the dead. In their residence, Astor have woken everyone upat the oddest time and sleep deprived is now known as the Sinclair's new normal. It's an absolute miracle no one has gone bonkers yet. It was one of the rare afternoons where Astor had just fallen asleep and Susannah, his nanny carried him upstairs tohis crib. As a new mother, alone time is a priceless commodity and she needed a distraction, something to help her relax and take her mind away from the anxiety of it all. SoVictory had occupied herself in the kitchen and was baking an apple pie. Her cellphone suddenly rang and she idly swiped
Victory has been appointed as A. K. Media's Business Development Manager. She is tasked to head the business development team, a newly created unit. The team comprises of only two people, Victory and her assistant, David. Their main role is to bring in new clients for A. K. Media. Besides their unit, there is another sales team that handle existing clients' contracts and is currently overseen by Arthur.By the end of the year, Arthur plans to merge both teams under her supervision. When she first read her job description, she was pleasantly surprised that Arthur would allow her to hold such an important post. After the mess that she had landed him in last year, she didn't expect that he would be so charitable to her.Her surprise later morphed into irony after she was bombarded with snooping questions by potential clients. Instead of being interested with what she is offering on behalf of A. K. Media, most of them wanted to know whether she is
Just like it was a year ago, her work at A. K. Media is hectic and tough, and Victory is loving every minute of it. She finally garnered a small contract with Kim Entertainment. Her second meeting with the company went well, so well in fact they immediately awarded A. K. Media a contract to cover one of their newest rising stars who is set to feature in a new tv series. Besides Kim Entertainment, she also has garnered several other contracts with various new clients, which explains her erratic work schedule. Her days are filled with meetings and appointments while her nights and weekends are filled with events. With the new team that she's heading, Victory has to be on her feet at all times to make sure that she is able to bring in new clients as Arthur had appointed her to do. No more Christian Louboutins, Missy. She sternly told herself after coming back from an event with blisters on her feet. This time, she has traded her stilettos for Mary J
Have you ever woken up one day to an absolutely ordinary morning only to find out later that your whole life had flipped on its axis? Well, today is that day for me. Because literally in just a matter of minutes, I will find out that I have a fathered son. Andthings will never ever be the same again. It all started when I insisted on picking up Victory from her apartment. She has been working with me for about a month now and I just wanted to know where she lives. I haven't seen her around the Upper East Side so naturally I was curious. With our busy schedule at work, I don't think she's staying with her parents in the suburbs. Besides, we've been fooling around for a few weeks now and I was thinking perhaps we could take things further, like to the bedroom in her apartment. Yes, my ex-fiancé is back in my life, working in my company and surprisingly I like her work. Correction, I admire her work.
Arthur was livid. Because for one more time, Victory had deceived him. How could he have believed she would be any different this time? Barely a month into having her back in his life, she is already causing chaos and disrupting every semblance of order. As the saying goes, do not judge a Victory by herunblemished skinand angelic little face. Even the holy bible is not exempt from filth, its pages are filled with numerous tales of human lies and deception. How could he naively expected for her heart to be as pure as she looks? The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 They were in his car, on their way back from the hospital. With the exception of the occasional babble from Astor, the ride to the Upper West Side was ominously silent. Arthur was seated in the passenger seat next to Gerald while Victory, Astor and Susannah all sat in the backseat
It has been two weeks since Arthur had found out about Astor and so far, there is absolutely no news from him. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. When Victory returned from the Sinclairs residence two weeks ago, she half expected Arthur to suddenly turn up at her apartment holding a red balloon like that creepy crimson-haired clown called Pennywise in the horror movie It. However, she has not seen Arthur anywhere. The last time she saw him was on that fateful Saturday two weeks ago.Even last Friday, she was supposed to have her weekly progress meeting with Arthur but he wasn't in his office. His secretary informed her that Arthur had left at noon. He has an appointment somewhere in the city and will not be returning. This is so uncharacteristic of the Arthur that she knows. He wouldn't miss an appointment and he's definitely never missed any of their meetings before. What Victory did not know, last Friday Arthur was at the hospital, picki
Arthur salaciouslytraced every inch of Victory's body with his hands, mouth, lips and tongue. He expertly devoured her, his actions fueled by her whimpers, basking in gratification every time he heard her plead and moan his name. His pale blue eyes darkened with lust as he gazed at his bride who was writhing with pleasure in front of him. He was facing her groin, his tongue lapping, teasing the swollen nubbin at her entrance as his fingers pumped relentlessly inside of her. Victory twitched in response, her skin tingling in excitement, the sexual tension was too much for her to bear. She was so close to losing control, her fingers desperately clutching his hair, trying to find an anchor to the passion that is threatening to take over her senses. Deliberately, heremoved his tongue from her clit and raised his head, causing her to groan and rock her hips in agony. She was so close to reaching her pinnacle and yet Arthur wasdel
Two weeks later. Unlike their wedding day debacle, Victory and Arthur's second attempt at getting married occurred during one of the worst downpours New York has ever seen. The weather was increasingly tempestuous, the wind howling ferociously as the heavy and almost continual rain soaked each and every guest that arrived at the church. Even the bride and groom were not spared. Despite being shielded by a huge umbrella, the bottom half of Victory's dress was absolutely drenched by the time she made it inside the church's complex. Those who were superstitious might consider the gloomy weather as a bad omen, but Victory and Arthur were indifferent. The both of them only had eyes for each other and the weather was the least of their worries. In Arthur's case, he is more worried about Victory leaving him at the altar as she did the last time. So, in order to avoid Victory from doing another episode of the runaway bride, Arthur ha
"Arthur, look! Someone's proposing!" Victory called eagerly to Arthur, waving her hands, beckoning him to come towards her. A wide smile had adorned her face as she eagerly peered through the darkness, trying to see if she could spot a couple under the canopy of trees in Central Park. Her elbows were resting on the railings, her body leaning forward as a dreamy sigh escaped her lips. She wasn't able to spot anything underneath the clump of trees so she lether eyes wander across the buildings surrounding Central Park, wondering which unit were owned by the soon to be betrothed couple. "Aww... This is so sweet, don't you think so?" She cooed as she looked wistfully at the fairy lights, her emerald green eyes trailing over the words, Will You Marry Me? Whoever did this must have done some meticulous planning indeed, Victory thought to herself. How many fairy lights did it take to pull this off, she wondered, a frown marring her forehead. She was
The next day arrived quickly. It is the day where Victory and Arthur will finally go on their third date. Despite her excitement, this day also means that Victory will have to move her stuff from her Upper West Side Apartment to Arthur's apartment not far from Fifth Avenue. And just like any billionaire heiress out there, Victory has a LOT of STUFF in her apartment in the form of clothes and shoes. Victory was so busy with packing and moving into Arthur's apartment that by the time the last box had arrived in Arthur's apartment, the sun had dipped in the horizon. Glancing at the time, she hurriedly entered her bathroom, she was feeling all hot and sticky and desperately needed a shower. Almost an hour later, she exited her walk-in closet, wearing a demure, white Ted Baker dress with a huge black bow across her chest. Perhaps this is Victory's way of saying she's gifting herself to Arthur, all wrapped nicely in Ted Baker's oversized bow.
The next morning Victory woke up to find Arthur quietly snoring beside her. Savouring the rare occasion that she gets to observe him without him knowing, she gazed at the man who had managed to steal her heart. There is a softness to his expression when he's sleeping and her hand itched, wanting to stroke his face. However, she refrained, not wanting to wake him up from his slumber. Luckily they remembered to draw the curtains last night so the room was still covered in darkness. She turned away from Arthur and her hand roamed to the side table next to the bed, picking up her handphone to check the time. Eight o'clock. That's odd, she thought to herself. Arthur has never slept in as late as this. He is usually very punctual with his time. They didn't sleep that late last night either, both falling asleep right after they made love. What Victory did not know was that Arthur had sneaked out of the room last night for a rendezvous with
"Arthur, what do you think happened between Faith and Aaron all those years ago in high school?" Victory asked after they have left the Halloween party. Her forehead wrinkled as she tried to think of the connection between Aaron and Faith but nothing came to mind. Victory has not been a good best friend to Aaron for the past few months. Granted, she has had her hands full with adopting to her new position at A. K. Media, battling Arthur in court over the custody of Astor and now rebuilding her relationship with Arthur. And whenever she would talk to Aaron, it was always about her problems and not his. She hasnot heard a peep from Aaron about the mysterious girl who took all his clothes and left it outside the toilet and she is curious about her. It was a relief that she was able to easily find his clothes, otherwise she might have to resort to taking the table cloth from the registration counter for Aaron to use to cover his nudity.
By the time Arthur and Victory returned to the hall three hours later, the Halloween Party have just begun. A. K. Media's immersive parties are legendary and quite rare, as they are hosted only a handful of times in a year. The last immersive event that A. K. Media hosted was the blackout luncheon at The Peninsula hotel when Victory returned to New York from Switzerland. There is a long waiting list of celebrities and social influencers clamouring for an invite to the event. The invitation list is exclusive, limited to a small number of people. Tonight, the guest list only includes 300 people. A small line can be seen at the entrance of the hall, party-goers handing over their black and gold invitation card to catwoman and supergirl manning the registration counter. This being a Halloween Party, everyone was garbed in various costumes, and that also include the staff of A. K. Media who are working tonight. A gift bag is handed to each party-g
Red-faced and choking on my saliva, I ran out of the living room to my bedroom, muttering some lame excuse to Faith about not feeling well. My heart was pumping wildly, interlaced with fear and disbelief. Why did I have to say that? Why does my mouth always seem to get me in trouble? Urgh! I feel like punching myself, if that is even possible. I went to lie on my bed, trying to make sense of my thinking. Strange thoughts popped up like bubbles on the beach, one after another. I gave out a frustrated sigh, trying very hard not to pull out all of my hair, thoroughly annoyed at myself. As I was drowning myself in regret, my phone suddenly beeped, a message popping up on the screen. Relieved to have something to divert my attention, I picked up my phone. Arthur: "Do you want me to accompany you tonight, honey bun?" Speak of the devil and here he is. I huffed in annoyance, pursing my lips as I consider on ignoring the
And just like that, the very next day Arthur picked up Astor and Susannah from my apartment and took all their belongings with him. He was so confident that I will follow suit that he cleaned up everything in both their rooms, insisting that they won't be coming to visit me as I will be coming to stay with him soon. He even offered me to let him bring my stuff as well but I was adamant for him to wait until after the third date. No mule is as stubborn as a Victory Sinclair. We were standing at the front door of my apartment, Susannah and Astor had left with Gerald and are waiting for Arthur in the car. I stared at his pale blue eyes while he stares into mine. Neither of us backs down, for we have arrived at an impasse. Which is weird because he wants me in his bed and I also want to be in his bed. No surprises there. The only thing holding me back is my insistence at going for the third date, simply because that is what we had agreed upon.
