I stood right behind the door of the room where Luca Borda was arguing with another man. My body trembled, and my heart pounded widely. I couldn't believe that Luca could have killed his own brother. I was terrified by that fact, yet at the same time, something else made me curious. I already knew that all the Bordas continuously fought for power, but what motive could Luca have? What could he possibly gain from killing Samil's and Asher's father? Also, who was the man who knew about it and just threatened Luca?! No matter how dangerous it was to stand right behind this door, I had to find out more about it.

“How dare you!” Luca shouted, “If you expose me, I will expose everything you did as well!”

“Don't make me laugh!” the other man snorted, “There is nothing you could expose.”

“You are as guilty as I am!” Luca yelled.

“Can you prove it? I dare you,” the man chuckled.

Samil pinned me to the wall. In his eyes I could see an overwhelming desire. I gasped. He started kissing down my neck, caressing my skin with his lips. I shivered under his touch. He started unbuttoning my shirt. His moves were rough, impatient to touch my naked skin. I amazingly yearned for his touch. I surrendered to his desire completely. We got lost in passion. We undressed ourselves while standing in the corridor by the door. We wanted each other too much. Samil's caresses made me feverish. It felt like he was devouring me with his kisses and touch. Suddenly, he took me in his arms and carried me to the bedroom. He pinned me down, then started caressing my whole body, slowly going down and reaching the inner side of my thighs. I moaned in ecstasy, as he came inside me, making me lose myself in amazing pleasure. There was something different in the way he touched me. He treated me tenderly, making me feel precious. Somehow, it didn't feel like we were having sex

  • A Kissing Spell   Brother's bond

Samil sat up on the bed, took a deep breath, and looked at me wearing a bitter smile.“Yes, I did,” he replied, “I really killed Asher's girlfriend.”I flinched. He said it without any traces of guilt on his face. I gazed at him, feeling how my heart started racing nervously. I had to know his reasons.“H-how? What happened?” I asked, convinced that he couldn't have simply killed her without any cause.“She approached me, tried to climb into my bed, and then… she tried to kill me,” he stated shrugging his shoulders.I gulped. I couldn't believe that he talked about it so lightly.“What do you mean…? But… how?” I muttered, trying hard to comprehend his words.“There was a moment when Asher and I decided to reunite. I came back home for a break while studying in Cambridge. We went to a party together, had a few drinks, and suddenly some girl appeared.

  • A Kissing Spell   Digging out secrets

Asher suggested that I should enter through the back door. I also thought that this solution would be wiser. Being greeted by Luca Borda right after walking into the mansion was the last thing I wanted. There was a door at the back of the mansion used by the servants. It was supposed to be locked, but Asher intentionally left it open. I went inside, then walked straight through the corridor, just like he told me to. At the end of that corridor were the stairs. I went up to the second floor and then entered the third room on the left. It turned out to be… Asher's bedroom. “Hello, Kass!” he greeted me as soon as I opened the door. He was sitting on his bed wearing a slightly unbuttoned shirt and a pair of jeans. “Hello,” I answered and walked towards him. “My Brother would probably kill me if he knew I invited you to my bedroom,” he chuckled. “Your brother knows well that I came here to help you. It's business, it's nothing personal, and

  • A Kissing Spell   Uncovering more secrets…

After interrogating Patricia, I spent some time comforting Asher. Strangely, I became a kind of friend substitute for him. We even started talking about our past relationships. He confided in me without any ounce of distrust, as if all the previous hostility between us had disappeared. Certainly, it wasn't the time to disclose all our secrets. He kept his, and I kept mine, especially, the one about my identity as a witch. He didn't dwell on asking about my “hypnotizing” abilities, and I didn't have to say anything inconvenient. It was fortunate. I preferred solving one problem at a time.I went back home. I wanted to use my whole final day off of work to get some rest, yet it was already late in the afternoon, and instead of getting a rest, I was only feeling more exhausted. I decided to spend at least the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing, and thinking about nothing. Well, that was the plan...As soon as I closed the door of my apartment, my phone r

  • A Kissing Spell   The heroine of the story…

My heart beat erratically. I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing going to Samil's office at that very moment, but I had to know what was going on. My whole body trembled. I didn't know if I should be glad or terrified. If the rumors were true, that meant that Samil officially rejected Victor Artois's support, which in his world equaled to becoming his enemy. Samil restrained himself for a very long time just to keep this thin alliance. I told him that Victor Artois was going to betray him, but I didn't think that Samil would actually decide to make his move before Victor did! And above all… why was I in the center of it all again?!I got out of the elevator and rushed towards Samil's office. Halfway through, I started hearing loud, angry voices. I gulped and kept walking until the end of the hall. Then I saw Emma sitting behind her desk, and fearfully staring at the CEO's office door. When she noticed me, she ran towards me and grabbed my hands.“Th

  • A Kissing Spell   My scheme

There were thousands of thoughts running through my head, making me unable to focus. Samil's words, saying that I was the one person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, kept ringing in my ears. I wondered if he said them honestly, or if he merely wanted to force Camilla to give up on him. I wished I could know what was inside his heart. At that moment, my faith in him, and his affection towards me was poisoned by my anxieties.“What will happen when I finally get rid of my magic? Will Samil become cold towards me? Will he act like he did when we met… or even worse than that?” I wondered restlessly.Yet, I couldn't afford to waste my time on uncertainties. I had to focus on using my powers in the best way I could to help Samil, while I still could.Luckily, I was far ahead of my work schedule. Our team finished editing the season's last episode, and all that was left to do was to write a financial report for Chris. I was always managi

  • A Kissing Spell   It's time...

The next day was truly hectic. After watching Patricia's confession that Mr. Romero recorded, the police sent Luca Borda's arrest warrant. Additionally, Asher handed the police his mother's account books, where she wrote down a full list of bribes and other illegal transactions. It was obvious that with charges as strong as she had, she would certainly try to pass at least some of her blame onto Luca Borda. Obviously, Samil was counting on it.As soon as Luca's arrest warrant became official, Luca ran away, taking a few valuable objects from the mansion with him. Luckily, he didn't have any cash prepared in advance, and with all his accounts frozen it was unavoidable for him to be captured in a short time. Delia didn't waste her time and filed for divorce. She certainly tried to get as much from her husband as possible while he still had any money. As for Luca's charges, I also testified giving the police investigators a hint that he might have something to do with the

“Wake up…” I vaguely heard some whisper.I was slowly regaining consciousness, but I still couldn't open my eyes. My head hurt, and my whole body was sore. I was lying on some hard ground covered in dirt. I could hardly move a muscle.“Wake up, Sleeping Beauty,” I heard that whisper again.I finally opened my eyes, but my vision was blurry. I managed to lift my head up a bit and noticed the shape of a man. Someone was crouching in front of me. Suddenly, that person reached his hand and stroked my cheek. I flinched. I blinked a few times until my vision returned. I heard that person sneering. I closed my eyes, opened them again, and froze…“Long time no see, Kass,” Jason chuckled.I looked around in a panic. I was in a place that looked like an old, abandoned warehouse. There were pieces of wood and wood shavings everywhere on the ground. Except for Jason, there were four other men standing there, de

  • A Kissing Spell   Our Destiny

Samil had never left my side on our way home, whether it was while we were on the ship or flying in the Bordas private jet. He kept asking me if I was ok. He did it so often that I started to find his concern over my health annoying. He wasn't the one that had been bothersome during our trip. Chris, Elijah and all the other men from Samil's army were coming one by one to apologize for trying to burn me at the stake. Although, I kept repeating that it wasn't their fault since they were controlled by magic, but recalling everything they had done while being compelled wasn't exactly helpful in recovery from their moral hangover… Despite the fact that I knew that it was all over and that I and everyone was safe, those horrifying moments were coming back each time I closed my eyes. Once I tried to get some sleep, I woke up screaming, but then Samil would hold me in his arms and tell me that there was nothing that could ever threaten us anymore. The warmth of his body was soothing

  • A Kissing Spell   A hope that dies last

Suddenly, I heard nothing but crackling fire from the light of the torch. I hesitantly opened my eyes. Samil threw his torch at the bottom of the pile, yet it barely touched the wooden branches. The pile didn't start to burn. All it caused was a bit of smoke that was coming from one side of the pile. My heart was pounding frantically while my tears kept falling down my cheeks."Samil…" I mumbled, looking into his eyes.He raised his head and gazed at me. His expression was slightly different from before. It wasn't as blank as if his consciousness started to resurface again…"I love you…" I called softly, praying that it would be different this time, that my calling would finally reach him.He stared at me in silence, then slowly turned his head to look around. At that moment, he stopped resembling a mere puppet. It was like one of his strings had been cut. I could see him clenching his teeth. I gasped, desperately hoping that his reac

  • A Kissing Spell   The execution

Ezzura had cast a spell that filled the entire island, including the irresilient to her magic Samil. She compelled everyone. Now, they were all her own army that obeyed her unconditionally…I guessed, she clearly wanted to torture my heart before she would burn my body, doing everything she could to break me. She picked a beach as a place where I should be burned at the stake, and she told Samil to take me there. I didn't have any strength left to resist. He tossed me over one shoulder like a bag of sand, and then he carried me out of the witches' castle. I tried calling his name, but he didn't react at all, as if he had become an empty shell that once had been someone who loved me…"I have to admit that your magic is extraordinary," Ezzura chuckled while walking to the beach. "Can you see how easily I had changed everyone into my puppets? Your magic in this life is even stronger than the one you had as Immara."She kept glancing cheerfully, admiri

  • A Kissing Spell   Fooled twice…

For a few seconds, I was unable to open my eyes. I heard a continuous, high-pitched sound in my ears. It covered all the other sounds I could hear, and disturbed my focus. Finally, I forced my eyelids to open. My vision was slowly coming back… I was lying on the floor in the middle of the witches' courtroom, trying to comprehend what had just happened. I nervously lifted my upped body to sit and look around. When I did, I gulped. All the witches from the group of the eldest were dead. Their bodies were lying motionless on the ground. Some were covered in blood, some looked like they were electrocuted. It was a massacre, and I was sitting in the middle of it… Suddenly, I saw Ezzura nonchalantly walking around the hall, gloating over the victory. I flinched, then I clenched my teeth. My previous visions, Immara's memories, the feeling of betrayal, they all came back and filled every inch of my body. I instantly raised my hands in order to attack her, but… nothi

  • A Kissing Spell   That piece of memory…

"W-what?" I murmured nervously, gazing at Sister. She avoided my stare. She must have known from the beginning that I was the incarnation of her younger sister, the one she told me about. Now, the fact that she claimed that she didn't remember her name and told me to call her "Sister" made me grit my teeth. Why couldn't she tell me?! Even if she wasn't certain if I remember my past life, couldn't she tell me that I look exactly like her late sister?! I felt confused and betrayed, and the most disturbing fact was that I had never recalled having an older sister in the memories of my past life…"Oh… I can see that she didn't tell you, did she?" Shelta chuckled coldly. "She had been told to gain your trust and kill you, but once she had learnt that you were sisters, she disobeyed the orders. She even decided to trick us to save your life, but you had to die even after you had lost your powers…"My head started to spin. I glanced at Sister. I co

  • A Kissing Spell   The witches' court

There was a road outside the forest. It led straight to the witches' castle. It looked like a fortress. It had high stone walls around it, and an enormous iron gate at the front. Samil walked at the front. Sister and I were right behind him, and the rest of the soldiers marched in formation, moving towards the gate while constantly fighting off the witches. Finally, we forced the witches to run back to their castle. They ran to the gates, banging on them and desperately crying to those in charge to open the entrance. Yet Mahala and the rest of the witches in charge were deaf to their pleading voices. They would rather let them die at those gates than open them. I gave Sister a signal, nodding my head, and we hit those witches with our magic, making them fall into a coma."Chris, get the explosive to blast those gates," Samil ordered."Understood," Chris replied, then abruptly turned around to get the bombs ready."Wait!" I called out, "There's no need for that.

  • A Kissing Spell   The beginning of the battle…

It was dawning when Sister finished her story. We managed to drink three bottles of wine, but certainly we didn't have to worry about getting drunk or having a hangover. Lack of sleep couldn't bother us either. That was the upper side of being a witch. After the whole night of talking, we used a few spells to improve our looks. Then I made us breakfast, and we were ready to work on making the cor inane for Samil's men. Chris showed up after 10 AM and brought the clothes and other things for Sister. Then his men delivered thousands of crystals, some for the amulets and some to make a powder that can be used on bullets. There was a lot of work ahead of me and Sister. For the first time, I was glad that Samil wasn't around. I felt more at ease then. I didn't have to worry about my boyfriend's peculiar behavior. I wasn't sure if he'd act the same way the next time he and Sister met, but I'd rather not think about it at the time...Sister was friendly towards everyon

  • A Kissing Spell   Her past...

I was exhausted from too much thinking. I was anxious, but I had to pretend that everything was all right in front of Sister. I didn't want her to jeopardize our alliance right before that big fight. It was something I couldn't afford. I wished Sister goodnight while wearing a perfect smile. I saw her casually lying in bed and closing her eyes. I wished I could fall asleep as peaceful as she did.I tossed and turned in bed, hearing my pounding heart. I was terrified. If Sister's magic wasn't effected by the power of the seal, it could mean that her abilities were far beyond mine. It could mean that Sister's magic was great enough to defeat the demonic power within the seal, and as far as I was concerned, no witch had ever done it. How could I consider myself as a witch from the prophecy then?I wasn't that arrogant to think of myself as the most powerful witch in the world. I had never craved for power. I just wanted to feel confident about winning, and now I was becom

  • A Kissing Spell   Fragile alliance

Samil took Sister and me to my apartment. While driving, he turned out to be surprisingly considerate towards Sister and even sent someone to get clothes, shoes, and other basic stuff for her to accommodate comfortably in her new environment. Perhaps I should be glad that he was helpful, but I couldn't help it. It just bothered me more and more. I tried not to show it, yet keeping a smile on my face was no longer possible. Unlike me, Samil was… smiling. He was smiling towards Sister. I had noticed it a few times, and it instantly brought chills to my spine. He'd never been so submissive to me, and now, Sister said a single word, and he immediately made a phone call to get her what she wanted!I felt completely left out in a conversation while we were in the car. If I had been an outsider, I would have thought that she was Samil's girlfriend, not me. I didn't like it in the slightest. I kept telling myself that there were more important things to handle, things concerni
