    Dinner with Selyna’s adoptive parents was tense, sleeping under their roof, far from Selyna, with her father across the hall in his office was horrific. We sit in my car driving home silently until my phone rings. “Hey, what’s up?” I answer it through the car’s audio system. 

    “When you get home, come directly to the pack hospital. Spooky’s wife is in labor” Riff sounds worried.

   “That’s not all, I can tell. What aren’t you telling me?” I grit.
