Marie hurriedly waved her hand. "Don't call me that. I'm not fit to be your mother."

Ivy's face turned pale with stiffness.

William's expression soured as he attempted to reason with Marie. "Mom, it's been so many years. Can't you accept Ivy and Sabrina by now?"

Marie responded calmly, "My acceptance is irrelevant since you and your father have already done it."

"Also, you don't need to visit me anymore. I'm doing just fine," Marie added decisively. "And stop bothering Lucy. I was the one who refused to see all of you."

Throughout the conversation, Marie didn't spare so much as an extra glance toward Ivy, Harold, or Sabrina. She'd long seen their true colors.

Only the foolish Horace and William would believe Ivy's and Sabrina's words.
