"Mr. Seth, this lady is Mrs. Layton's friend," Herbert said.

Seth raised a brow. Were all of Lucille's friends pretty ladies?

Still, even though this woman had a cute face, her expression all but screamed, "Don't bother me." Yet, it somehow suited her.

"Hello, lady," Seth greeted with a confident, handsome smile.

But Mavis only rolled her eyes in disgust at him in return. Herbert covered his face, unable to bear watching Seth get embarrassed.

While Seth was fairly good-looking, he wasn't Mavis' cup of tea. What was worse was that she despised someone this laid-back and unserious.

Seth silently stewed in disappointment. This was the first time a woman wasn't swayed by his looks. Not just that, but she'd even rolled her eyes at him.

Not giving up, Seth smiled and asked, "Hey lady, are you here to look for me—"

"What is your problem?" Mavis interrupted him in annoyance as her brows furrowed. "And what's with that lewd smile?"
