Elika breathed deeply, erupting into a fit of coughing. She placed a hand over her chest as she panted, glancing towards Michael as she attempted to come up with an excuse. The princess sighed, her un-comfort rising as no one had ever seen her in such a state other than her mother. Before she had time to come up with an answer, her uncle’s comrade growled; leaning closer to the tub.
“Make sure you do not lie to me, princess. Tell me why you were in the water for so long.” Michael commanded, tapping his fingers on the tiled floor.
The princess lowered her eyes to the towel she held around her exposed body, biting her lip as she spoke; her voice soft and low. “I ... I was upset and ... I went under the water to calm myself ... I don’t think that I was under for long...”

The psychopathic lord slowly sat in his chair, watching as the little princess remained silent. Her shoulders shook as she cried, her head placed gently onto her knees in sorrow. Elika stretched her legs, waiting until the muscles strained before curling back into a ball on the large black couch. She woke slowly, yawning as her eyes flickered open. Breathing deeply she glanced around the living room, noticing that the dark lord was asleep in his armchair. She scanned the room for anyone else, smiling when she saw the lion-like black dog lying in front of the fire; snoring softly as he slept. She wondered how long she had been asleep, unable to tell as the sun never rose in the hell dimension; leaving the days cloudy and dull. The princess laid her head back on the couch, deciding against leaving Darkous’ side. She had the opportunity to run, yes; but Elika knew that she wouldn’t get far. Besides, the consequences of her last escape were more than she wanted to endure. She closed her eyes, attempting to drift back into sleep.
