The coming of age festival was something Darkous had been awaiting all his life, the night he turned sixteen. The celebration was a tradition in the family, bringing together all the most powerful immortals into one place. Though the young prince wanted something different, to change how the festival was planned. Darkous wanted the mortals their two, his friends from the mortal school he had attended. Chronos disagreed with this, warning his son against bringing mortals to hell. But the prince ignored his father, focused only on having the love of his life attend his celebration. Elika tightened her arms around her legs as the car turned onto a gravel driveway, slowly coming to a halt outside the front doors of the dark lord’s mansion. Meanwhile down in the basement...Elika had fallen asleep with her head on her knees, the tears that had fallen from her eyes as she thought of her mother and brother’s death still lingering on her cheeks. She stirred slightly, stretching as she woke, every muscle in her petite form aching. She shouldn’t have fallen asleep in the corner of the room behind the boxes, but she was too terrified to move; the voices that came from the living room drifting down towards her ears.
