As Sage was thinking this, the kitten bit her finger, causing her to yelp in surprise. Immediately, she tilted toward Ian.

Ian swiftly caught her. Perhaps because he was mindful that her arm was still injured, he moved his hand from her arm to her waist after a brief touch.
