In the shadows, the atmosphere became extremely murky. We were more like a pair of lovers secretly meeting under the moonlight. His hand was still caressing my waist. I wanted to push him away, but I also wanted time to stand still so we could just stay here like that.

We looked at each other and our breathing began to slow down.

Moon Goddess! I really don't dare to imagine what we would do if this continued.

I looked in the direction that my father went. My mind cleared and I was able to think straight again.

The Pack's power was my father's power, so I couldn't use it. Otherwise, he would know immediately. However, I felt indignant at the thought of giving up on my investigation. What was the truth of my mother's death? Did it have anything to do with my father? How could I safely continue and get to the truth?

I looked at this man in a daze, my thoughts running around non-stop. I thought of my only good friend, Nico. She was my high school classmate. With my status of being the daughter of the Alpha, she was the only one who could be friends with me sincerely.

She was also one of the few people that I could trust. The question was, should I ask her for help? No, Nico had her merits, but she wasn't very brave. She could not do such a risky thing. Besides, she was also a member of our pack. I couldn't put her in harm's way.

Then who else could I rely on?

I suddenly wanted to cry. I had been "abandoned" by my mother. She had passed away early, leaving me when I yearned for motherly love. My father had also become a stranger to me. When the things I cared about the most were far away from me or might betray me, I felt extremely helpless and lonely. Right now, I really wished that my mother could come back to life and hug me, comfort me, and give me strength.

Moon Goddess! Tell me, what should I do?

Helplessness and loneliness overtook me. I felt as if I were drowning and desperately seeking for something to cling to.

When I woke up from my sorrow, I found myself in Edmond's arms. His chest was broad and firm. At this moment, he was no longer frivolous or dangerous. His hand gently patted my back, as if he was coaxing a lost and frightened child.

His steady and strong heartbeat calmed me down. The inexplicable familiarity made me feel extremely safe. I closed my eyes.

Moon Goddess. At this moment, let me lose myself like this.

A while later, I thought that I had come to a decision. I didn't know if this was the right thing to do, but it seemed that this was the only way. I wiped my tears and broke free from his embrace. I then said calmly, "Edmond, let's talk."

That annoying teasing expression appeared on his face once again. It was as if he had already seen through my thoughts. I pretended not to see it and said indifferently, "How about we make a deal between us?"

He looked at me curiously, and I continued, "As you can see, I'm looking into past events. I am meant to be married soon and don't have any time to waste. I need someone's help now. Name your price. If you can help me, maybe we can then benefit each other, how about that?"

"Why should I help you?" The question shocked me. "I can tell you right now that you don't want to investigate your old man. Let it go. You won't like what you find."

I was furious. Was I being too soft for him to take me seriously? I was the only daughter of a dignified pack leader. As long as I was strong enough, I would be the first in line as his heir. Could it be that he wouldn't ask me for favors in the future?

Besides... I snorted. "I know that you have many secrets that can't be known by others. Why don't we talk about you being a spy for the Shadow Bone pack? What did you take from the secret room? If Hank finds out, how will he deal with you?"

This time, Edmond's eyes were filled with shock. I thought that my threat had worked, so I continued, "That's right. If you don't help me, I'll tell Hank what happened that night. I can tell Hank that you threatened me that day and said that if I tell others, you'll silence me. You know Hank's personality very well. Even if he will harm me, who do you think will be the next to suffer his wrath?"

At this moment, a black cloud blocked the moon, and Edmond's face was darkened by the shadow of the cloud.

His expression was unreadable, and his eyes were cold. I couldn't tell what he was thinking. He approached me again. "Young lady, how about I silence you right now?"

I felt a deadly chill and domineering aura come from him. This was an Edmond I had never seen before. My instincts told me that I had gone too far and was now in a dangerous situation. In order to escape faster, I began to shift into my wolf.

However, he grabbed me by the back of my neck. This was the weakness of us shifters. As long as I was restrained, I would not be able to shift, while he shifted into an upright male wolf.

However, I had partially shifted just now. Although I still looked like a human, my furry tail had appeared.

His slender fingers were around my neck and I knew he could easily choke me to death. Yet, his tongue licked across my face. It was slow, sensual and terrifying at the same time. I was more like prey under his wolf claws. There was nowhere to run.

"Tell me, what do you want me to do for you?" he growled.

The question was unexpected. Did that mean he agreed?

"I suspect the cause of my mother's death. If you help me uncover the truth, I won't tell anyone that you're a spy." In front of his absolute power, I knew that my words were really lacking in confidence. But, I had to take my only chance.

He chuckled, letting go of me.and kissed my face again. "This seems a little difficult. After all, Pete is the alpha. There will be dire consequences for me if I take this risk and then find myself at the mercy of his watch. Therefore, I'm not satisfied with your conditions. If that's all you can offer, I'm really not interested."

He retracted his oppressive aura, looked down, and grabbed my tail casually.

"You... let go..." I stammered. There was a tingly feeling in my tail. What was he doing?

He didn't say anything. It was as if he had lost himself whilst stroking my tail. Then he suddenly raised his head and said, "Reveal your ears the next time as well."

As soon as he mentioned my ears, I remembered what he had done to my ear that night. I blushed and cursed softly, "You jerk."

His smile widened and he let go of me. I instantly made my tail disappear the second that I became free.

"It's not easy to deal with Pete. Not only do I have to take risks, but I also have to take it slow. I can't let him notice me easily. How about this? Let's make a dea l."

"A deal?"

"Yes, a three-year contract. I'll help you find out the cause of Serena's death. You can give birth to a child for me. I won't mind two or three even." His voice was so casual and I became momentarily speechless.

I widened my eyes in disbelief and raised my voice. "Are you kidding me? You want me to give birth to a child for you? Are you out of your goddess damn mind?"

He shrugged. "You can consider whether you want to be played by Hank or work with me. I can guarantee your safety and he won't be able to touch you. What do you say?"

I was dumbfounded. What kind of nonsense was this?

"Alright, looks like you prefer to be with that creepy old man. Tsk tsk, he's more than old enough to be your father. Actually, he's older than Pete. With your beauty, he will definitely dote on you. After you've managed to please him, he might help you. By the way, there are indeed many of his mistresses living in that villa group.

"His first wife had no choice but to accept her fate. She didn't expect him to get you this time and pose a real threat to her marriage. Therefore, she went overseas in a fit of anger. That's why Irene went to make a fuss at your villa."

What the…! What kind of mess did I get myself into?

Seeing that I didn't answer, Edmond continued.

"That old pervert's dream is for you to marry him. I don't think he will change his mind and let you go after he recovers. By the way, he has some disturbing sexual hobbies, you know. Oh, okay, since you like it, I won't try to convince you. Go ahead and tell him that I'm a spy and we'll see between you and me, who dies faster. Anyway, it won't be as easy for him to kill me. I wish you nothing but happiness, my beautiful Mrs. Karl."

I was shocked into complete silence at his words. But, I came back to my senses as he turned to leave.

"Edmond, wait," I called after him.

Father and Hank looked at each other. They were probably in a dilemma. They didn't know whether they should wait for my child to come out, or escape, or help Ted fight? But no matter what, it was too late for them to cut me open now. I screamed. It was so painful. It was as if my lower body was torn apart, making me scream. He looked at me, clearly hesitating. Perhaps he had waited for so many years. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him. If he missed it, it would be gone for good. At this moment, the basement door was opened. Someone barged in again and shouted at them, "Alpha, let's go. Edmond has joined forces with the other packs. There are too many of them. Ted won't be able to hold them off any longer." This was father's thug. Hank pulled him back. "We're running out of time. Let's go! If Edmond gets in here, we'll all die." Probably because he saw the treasure that he was about to get was lost, father stomped his feet in exasperation and followed the thug out o

After putting down the phone, he gently stroked my cheek and my body. He had always loved me, but he probably never knew that nothing had ever happened between us. Everything was just a figment of his imagination. He ordered everyone to leave. Then he kissed my body. His eyes were filled with greed and brutality. I didn't know what he was going to do next, but my heart had already sunk to the bottom of the water. As he squeezed my body, he looked at me with those blue eyes that made me feel lost. His voice was gentle, but it was filled with infinite killing intent. "Liana, did you know? Pete told me that your bone marrow can be extracted for therapeutic serum, and your child, as well as his placenta and umbilical blood, come with super powerful energy. The serum extracted can cure those who have aftereffects of the drug. Initially, I wanted to wait for you to give birth to the child before using these, but now... what do you think I will do?" I was shocked. Countless thoughts fille

I looked at Pete and felt indescribable disgust in my heart. He is Liana's biological father. How could he treat his daughter like this? However, his words did make my mind waver. I hesitated. "That won't do. The child in her stomach is mine. If it's as you said, he's so powerful, of course I'll let him come to this world and grow up." Pete sighed and said, "Of course there's no problem with him coming to this world. How about this? You wait until he's born. Then, during the operation, I'll come personally and save the placenta and umbilical cord blood myself. This way, we can extract the serum and make better use of it. It's just a little longer. It'll take a few months." I rolled my eyes at him and nodded. "Of course it's okay. I also hope that my child is stronger than me. That's better." I couldn't help but look at Pete and mock, "I have to say your daughter is really unlucky to have a father like you because you seem like you could care less whether she lives or not." Pete

When he said that, of course I knew that he was angry. Unexpectedly, Nico suddenly flew into a rage. She slammed the table and shouted at us, "Edmond, you really deserve to be tricked by her. That child is yours. Liana didn't have a miscarriage. She was lying to you." I became overjoyed. My senses proved to be right! I asked with a trembling voice, "What did you say? She, she didn't miscarry?" Nico said angrily, "No, she told me herself that she didn't have a miscarriage. She hated you for imprisoning and torturing her, but she wouldn't say anything, so she said that the child was gone on purpose. Nothing happened between her and Ted. She said that she had her own way to make Ted think that the child was his, so you fool, you bastard. Now that your wife and child are in danger, I have no idea what Ted will do to her. Or rather, Ted has discovered something. Do you think Ted will be stupid enough to be deceived by her? Ted and Pete are both cunning. They will find out sooner or late

My erection was impatient to get in. She was still making a final struggle. I leaned over her, my shaft lingering at the wet entrance. Her legs wrapped around my waist. The warm sheath seemed to exude a vast suction force. The moment I penetrated it, she let out a seductive cry. "Edmond. I, I want you too. Ah! Edmond. My Edmond." Her cries gave me unlimited passion. I kept going deeper and deeper. Every time I moved, I hit the depths of her. She let out moans of pleasure. Her hands kept touching my chest muscles. The mysterious power from her womb pulled me deeply, encouraging me to keep pushing. The incomparable wetness scraped against my nerves, making me unable to control myself. I let out a low growl as I shot my load. I was so tired. I held the pair of softness and smelled her scent, sucking greedily. My hand was on her bulged belly, where the wolf cub kicked back and forth unhappily. I sneered. Did this wolf cub dare to challenge me? If your mother weren't Liana, I would hav

He was furious and shouted at me, "Edmond, are you crazy? Have you forgotten our goal? You want to be the leader of the wolf clan. You want to expose those evil people. They are harming our clan members. This is inhumane, whether they are developing these medicines or selling women and young wolves. We agreed that we would save them. Even if we won't be their leaders, we must save them and keep them from persecution again. But you want to give up your life for Liana. What about the others? What about Liana? Do you actually believe that Liana is with him?" I looked at the snow-white ceiling, and my heart was blank. The bold words and ambitions of the past no longer existed. Liana was gone, and so was my heart. Liana had killed me. I had died in love. I didn't want to talk now. I had completely lost the desire to live. I would die on my own! The doctor came to give me an injection. I was completely unconscious and at their mercy. I didn't know how many days had passed, but I felt my
