Chapter 13: Whispers in the Dark

The darkness that engulfed the cavern was thick and oppressive, pressing in on Evie and Liam from all sides. The only light came from the faint glow emanating from the wooden charm clutched tightly in Evie's hand. Its warmth offered a small comfort in the vast emptiness that surrounded them.
