Damien 41.

I knew she was gone as soon as I saw Jackson's concerned face. That son of a bitch must have threatened her not to call anyone. I had done a background check on Isabella's mother when I had followed her to the old home.

Dementia and Alzheimers. Brutal.

"Get the car," I told him and stood up unrolling my sleeves and buttoned the cuffs.

I reached for my coat that I hung on the wooden stand. I headed for the door after Jackson. We had not even gotten to lift before Natasha sauntered out of it With a determined look etched on her face. Not today.

"We need to talk," She firmly said roughly pushing Jackson out of her way before standing in front of me.

I side stepped her and kept on heading for the elevator. I heard her scoff.

"Wow, this bitch has really got you by the balls," She said.

"You are just upset because you no longer have access to them," I curtly replied as I entered the elevator.

"That was cold," Jackson said as the elevator descended to the ground floor.

Damien 42Isabella was quiet throughout the ride back to the office. She had insisted on not going home because she did not want anything affecting her work. Plus she also did not want to lose to someone like Robert. She refused to be defeated and I admired her bravery.I wondered about the relationship between Isabella and her mother. She always looked so angry any time she talked about her mother. If I remembered correctly, they never got along when I still lived with them in their neighborhood."I am so sorry, Isabella," I said helplessly but she did not reply. She turned towards the window and stared out into the streets. She needed time to get over it.I went to my office while she went to hers.Natalia St. Dumas was waiting for me in my office and I knew that it was time to address the elephant in the room. I was not really in the mood for whatever baggage she wants to bring this morning. She had fixed herself a drink and was looking out of my window at the busy streets and road

Damien 43.The meeting was a blur and Jackson handled most of it. I was absent minded throughout the whole thing because I was apprehensive and mad about the fact that he was back.I had no intention of meeting him and even if I did, it was to kick his ass. I was doing him a favor by refusing to see him."We are afraid that your childish behavior will cost this company a fortune if you do not dial it down, Mr. Damien," one of the faceless board members admonished me.I looked at him. "Care to elaborate on this childish behavior I exhibit that bothers you so much," I inquired."Well, the press has been having a field day with...""I am asking you for what I have done that bothers you, not what the press thinks, all that is just noise," I cut him off coldly."A noise that reflects badly on our image," He countered."And what exactly is wrong with our image? Last week I personally had to fire a pedophile but did the press get to know about that?" I demanded."How did we hire one in the f

Damien 44.The blogs loved had their fun, the social media platforms had their fill and even the company reeled from the massive influx of reactions and before I knew it, Renaissance was trending again.I had to ignore calls for days as I impatiently waited for the buzz to die down. Meanwhile, the person behind the whole thing was generating revenue from my controversy. I had to beef up security just in case Isabella was being harassed online and offline. The internet could be brutal and unforgiven. Isabella was forlorn for most of the few days the news about her mother circulated. Someone had to pay for this. Today, I convinced Isabella to stay home."Let me handle the heat for now, My Cara, work from home," I told her."That is weakness, Damien, I will not bow to their pressure or scrutiny," She replied with great resilience on her eyes."You know what is better that strength? Health. Isabella, you need to mentally strengthen yourself just for a few days

Isabella 45.I had to switch off my iPhone because I got tired of declining calls. It amazed me and scared me at the same time the way people were ready to go through anything just to know who one was.I had a good idea of who made my contact public but I did not even want to think about that for now. My head was already spinning from all the things happening in my life right now.I decided to follow Damien's advice and take it easy today. I had slept in bed almost all morning thinking about how my life took a turn and got me here into the bed of a wealthy magnate. It felt so surreal. “How exactly did I get here?” I asked myself. My emotions were in disarray about Damien Moretti. One moment he was all that mattered to me and the next, he was the most annoying human ever. His hot and cold personality appalled me in a pleasurable way.I knew it was somewhat insane to think like this but I could not help it. It was as if I had become addicted to him and his entir

Damien 46.It was satisfying to see her trying to keep her cool. I wanted her to feel more pain and discomfort. I wanted her to feel all the pain that she put my Isabella through."I do not understand, Mr. Damien," Camila said, trying to stay calm."Renaissance does need to be in a position where it's information is not safe and its integrity called to question," I told her.Her lawyer was rummaging through the files that were on front of her looking for a legal retort but failing to find none."I do not know what you mean," She said."Allow me to break it down for you, Ms. Valdez," Natalia interjected. The female Lawyer did not like that but what more could she do?"You are involved with a man that likes to fuck little girls, it's bad for business," Natalia said."My client had no idea about Mr. Kavanaugh's private life," The lawyer said."It explains why it was so easy to bail on him, when you found out," I told the lawyer. The lawyer said nothing."My co

Isabella 47.I stared unbelievably at the picture for almost an hour before I realized that Damien had a lot of explaining to do. I had no idea when this picture was taken exactly but I remembered the day so well. The playground where mother used to take me before we moved. I was hit with an unwanted wave of nostalgia as I remembered. This simply means that Damien knew me from childhood. What I did not understand was why he was hiding it.I began to recall all the little things he casually knew about me even when we had first met. He seemed like a familiar stranger when he came up to me and we had clicked immediately. Two things were on my mind. Should I confront him about it or should I play along?I was deeply hurt that he kept this from me and It made realize just what a lie this whole marriage thing was. I guess there is no truth if everything is not real. I put the picture back in its place and headed back to the living room. All of a sudden, I did not fe

Isabella 48.I was stunned for the whole duration of ascension towards my office floor. I could not believe that I was standing beside the father of my fake fiance. I tried to stay calm and smiled through out the elevator ride. I rubbed my hands together as I tried to remain calm. The ride was painfully long and the tension was growing by the second. And for a minute I tried to wonder whether he even knew someone was with him in this elevator.Come on Isabella you can do this."How long have you been working here?" The man asked me in a friendly manner finally breaking the tension. Finally."I actually just got the job few weeks ago and it's been hectic ever since," I replied as honest as possible."You seem like you could handle it," He told me.He seems nice. But his face is grumpy. "I hope so," I answered earnestly. The elevator doors slid open and I was surprised to find the three of them waiting.I stepped out uncertain of what was going on. Dami

Damien 49."I know that you are fighting the urge to put your hands on me. I would not blame you if you did," Vito "Sicario" Moretti said to me as the elevator descended to the company ground floor. He sounded very calm saying things like thisHis voice was aggravating. His whole existence right now made me rage inwardly but I kept my calm."Cut the bullshit," I said coldly as I glared at the numbers that indicated what floor we were. His mere breathing sounds beside me made me want to erase his existence immediately. The buzzing sound of the elevator was annoying enough."That bad, huh?" He asked with a shrug."You wanted it this way, Old man," I retorted with a shrug. His eyes revealed the anger he had been trying to hide."I never meant for any of these things to happen, I always wanted the best for you and you know that," He said. They always said that, even in the movies."You want a medal?" I asked him.He simply scoffed at me.Vito, my father, left me when I was seven through n

Damien My gaze never wavered from Vito's face as I listened to my arch nemesis. The gravity of the situation got more and more deadlier as the night wore on. The papers were still in Vito's hand as I kept the phone to my hear.My father had an inquisitive look on his face as he watched me closely. The line went dead and I put the phone back into my pocket. I collected the the contract and without breaking eye contact, slowly tore it up right in front of him.Vito's eyes widened in shock and utter disbelief. "What the fuck are you doing?" He yelled maniacally as he knelt on the floor trying in vain to join the piece of paper together in a futile attempt. For the first time in my life, I saw him for what he was. An empty barrel of a man, a pathetic and sorry excuse for a husband to my mother and a fucking dead beat piece of shit of a father. I felt nothing but contempt and disgust as I watched him scrambled across the whole floor."Do you know what you have done?!" He yelled at me as h

"I'm scared, Ava," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what's going to happen to us."Ava's eyes filled with tears as she wrapped her arms around me, holding me close in a comforting embrace. And most importantly, how could I save them from whatever danger they were in?The minutes ticked by agonizingly slow, the silence of the room weighing heavily on my shoulders. I felt a surge of frustration building within me, the urge to take action and do something, anything, to rescue my wife and mother from the clutches of their captors. Finally, the sound of my phone buzzing broke the silence, and I quickly grabbed it, my heart pounding in my chest. It was Camilla, her name flashing on the screen, and I answered it without hesitation."Damien," her voice came through the line, smooth and composed as ever. Cooking had always been a soothing activity for me, a way to channel my thoughts and focus on something tangible amidst the chaos of life.Ava, my ever-supportive mother-in-law, stood beside me, offering gentle guidance as we prepared dinner for Damien. "Now, Isabella, remember to slice the vegetables thinly for the lasagna layers," she instructed, her voice warm and reassuring.I nodded, taking her advice to heart as I carefully wielded the knife. "Like this?" I asked, holding up a perfectly sliced zucchini for her inspection.Ava smiled approvingly. "Just like that, dear. You're a natural," she praised, her encouragement filling me with a sense of pride. As we worked side by side, Ava shared her secrets for creating the perfect steak marinade, imparting her culinary wisdom with the patience of a seasoned chef. Damien I was watchful during the conference meeting. I took my time to really look at the board members sitting at the table to see if I could see a member of the Founder's Association but none were seated at this conference. Even Rose St Dumas was not present. Maybe she was preparing her cronies of corrupt businessmen and women for the final show down.Camilla Valdez was also not present but Natalia was. I could not tell what was going on in her head as she gazed at me. If her mother was one of them, did that not make her automatically part of tht fold? Was I over reaching? If the plan with the detective worked, it meant that a lot of people will inevitably get hurt. "What is the profit margin for today?" I asked as I got down to business. "Eight percent since last year," Natalia said in a professional manner. "That's lower than last two years," I said with a frown. "That was due to the Al Vegas controversy," One of the board members said. "You mean the embezzlement," I replied
