Damien 124.

Her location stopped somewhere in the middle of the waters. It was silently grim in the car as Jackson drove. My head was swirling with confusion and my heart was beating fast. I glared angrily at the screen of my phone.

"Where are you going?" I asked out loud to no one in particular. I had no ideas why all this was happening.

"Is there a location we are going to be precise?" Jackson asked for the third time.

I had no idea what was actually happening.

"Keep on cruising," I said in an absent minded fashion. Jackson sighed wearily.

I turned away from my phone and looked at him closely.

"If this is not important enough for you, perhaps you should get down and take a cab and I will drive," I told him firmly.

"That is not why I am pissed," He replied as he stepped on the gas. I

"Then what is the problem?" I asked.

"Why are we not at Vito's house, gun blazing?" He asked.

"Because it is a waste of time," I answered. "Time better spent on finding Isabella," I

Isabella 125.I had omitted one truth from Damien when I had showed him the email that contained my mother's autopsy. I had also received a letter from my father promising to reveal everything to me if we met. Here I was about to get off a boat.I had no idea where he was taking me but I followed him. What other choice did I have? As we got off the boat, I could not help but realize that we were practically strangers. What if all of this was a ploy to kidnap me?I had never been to this part of town before and it surprised me that it even existed."Welcome to little Brussels," He said and walked toward the sprawling rocky island. The houses were huge and perched on many hills. The houses were built in old fashioned castle style."Come with me, there is something that I want to show you," He said and I followed him.He led me to a set of steep but solid stairs naturally made on the hills. We climbed up until we were both standing on a very high hill with crashing

Damien 126.It was getting dark by the time I drove to the location Vito sent me. I parked and opened the box Michael had given me to take out the gun inside. It was a silver desert eagle, eight round capacity and each bullet is fifty calibre and armor piercing round. I could smell that it was recently well oiled. It was a big and heavy gun but it was effective.I took an extra clip with me before I got out of the car. The place was an old coffee shop that was still on business but the customers were all either middle aged or old. I, Michael and Jackson were the only young people and we stood out.It was quiet except for a few murmurs and loud sipping of coffee. Vito was a sitting with his back to the wall, alone with a brewing cup in his front. I walked to his table and took a seat.Jackson and Michael sat together at a different table being on the look out. I had briefed them earlier about how sneaky Vito can be.I watched him balefully as he sipped his cof

Damien “You are not in any position to tell me who I can or cannot be with” I told Vito. I was already getting tired of the way he regarded my wife. I quite frankly did not give a shit about how he felt about my personal life.“You are living with the enemy, Damien, you may not realize it now but trust me, that girl is trouble,” Vito warned me, looking at me dead in my eyes.“It never ceases to amaze me every time you choose to play a fatherly role when it comes to my life,” I told him. “Tell me something Vito, is targeting my wife with a sniper rifle part of what it is to be a father?” I inquired with an inquisitive frown.Vito said nothing as he glared at me. I looked around the old coffee shop he chose for our rendezvous. Only old men were inside. Except that they were not just old men, they were war veterans, and I was willing to bet my life that they were all armed with firearms.“You think you are so innocent, aren’t you?” Vito asked with pure malice. “Do you even know the kind

Isabella 126.Why did everyone believe that they knew what was best for me? Even the man that mysteriously disappeared when I was a child believed that he knew what was best for me. I could not believe the life that I was currently living was real.“Do not take this the wrong way, I am sure that he is fine young man, but he will only put you in danger,” Emilio said.“And what do I call you? Safe?” I asked sarcastically. I was not interested in his approval. “I went from foster homes to foster homes, and the only stagnant thing in my life was mom, so skip the whole disapproving father bullshit and tell me what is exactly going on,” I said angrily.“A hit was put on your head today,” He said in a quiet tone. I went cold from shock. “Do you want to take a guess at who was behind the trigger,” He added.I was not sure that I wanted to know.“Vito Moretti,”This was the third time that I would be targeted by the man that was unfortunate enough to be Damien’s father. Damien “You think the Japanese were the only corrupt ones? Think about it, how did they know your wife before you?” He asked with that nonchalant attitude he had earlier. The same attitude that got him laid on his back. I had no intention of engaging him again. He was expecting me to attack, he was daring me. What he said made me realize I had no idea what was happening.“Okay, here is how it goes, I am going to a secret club and you are free to join me if you want answers. Or you can be on your way right now to go and find your wife if that is a priority,” He said indignantly.I had no idea where he was going with this but I knew how pointless it would be if I kept on searching for Isabella. She was with her father and when she returned, there had better be a good explanation for her behavior. I did not want to admit it but I was hurt and I felt betrayed which made me want to break Vito’s jaw. I nodded at his invitation.“This had better be worth it,” I muttered.“Oh trust me me, it

Isabella My heart was thumping hard in my chest as the man that was my estranged father stood far away from the door and pointed his gun at the door. I did not hide in the closet like he told me to. Instead I waited, confident that I could protect myself. “The first rule of owning a gun is to never let them know that you are carrying one,” Damien had told me when we were at the shooting range and he was teaching me how to hold the gun.In the end, I had chosen a gun called a Beretta with bullets that were called forty fives. It was a very difficult learning process. I hated the recoils the gun produced but over time, and in other to please Damien, I had gotten used to it. I was not an excellent shot yet, but in a circumstance like this, It could prove useful. But I was afraid of shooting anyone. I was afraid of taking a life. I hoped that Emilio knew how to use his gun.“Who is it?” Emilio asked in a calm clear voice. His hand never wavered as he pointed the gun at the door.“It’s me

Damien 131I was not expecting to see my wife when I got down from the Limousine. Even more, I was surprised to see her with Emilio, her estranged father. I saw a look etched on Isabella’s face that was filled with questions and accusation at the same time. I wondered what she had been told. What baffled me the most was that Marcus, the husband of the woman I had been I the vehicle with was here with my wife. What was going on?“It seemed like everyone is here after all,” Rose said. I ignored her and went to where Isabella was.“What happened? Where did you go?” I asked.“Why is she in the car with you?” Isabella asked me, referring to Camilla.“I have no idea what role she is meant to play in our lives but she is involved in all these somehow,” I told her, helpless. But she had not answered my question.“You still have not told me why you disappeared all of a sudden, I believed that you were kidnapped,” I told her, throwing Emilio a dirty look. He regarded me with a steady and cold g

Isabella 132.I was disturbed by Camilla’s presence. I was concerned by her newfound position of power. I realized that I never had an inkling of the kind of person to was. I could not deny that I was worried about how closer she was to the whole thing because I mistook her for an outsider of the company. I could not forget the way she had glared at me when she saw me nor could I forget how she was eyeing my husband like a piece of meat. The joke was on her because Damien would never fall for someone as cruel as her. I was glad for a moment that I was with child, but it seemed dangerous to let her know that I was pregnant.I adamantly waited outside the entrance of the mysterious meeting, dying to know what was so important that someone like Camilla was allowed in and not me. I was loyal and proactive. What the hell was she? She had wrong taste in men, and she worked with con men and pedophiles. The more I thought of it, the less it made sense to me. Renaissance was a massive box of m

Damien My gaze never wavered from Vito's face as I listened to my arch nemesis. The gravity of the situation got more and more deadlier as the night wore on. The papers were still in Vito's hand as I kept the phone to my hear.My father had an inquisitive look on his face as he watched me closely. The line went dead and I put the phone back into my pocket. I collected the the contract and without breaking eye contact, slowly tore it up right in front of him.Vito's eyes widened in shock and utter disbelief. "What the fuck are you doing?" He yelled maniacally as he knelt on the floor trying in vain to join the piece of paper together in a futile attempt. For the first time in my life, I saw him for what he was. An empty barrel of a man, a pathetic and sorry excuse for a husband to my mother and a fucking dead beat piece of shit of a father. She stumbled slightly, her eyes wide with shock and confusion, but when she saw me, her expression softened with a mixture of relief and concern."Isabella, darling, are you alright?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion as she hurried to my side.I reached out to her, my hands shaking as I clutched hers tightly, drawing strength from her presence despite the terror that still gripped me. "I'm scared, Ava," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what's going to happen to us."Ava's eyes filled with tears as she wrapped her arms around me, holding me close in a comforting embrace. Damien As I waited anxiously for Camilla's instructions, every second felt like an eternity. My mind raced with a thousand thoughts, each one more frantic than the last. Where was she keeping Isabella and Ava? What did she want from me? And most importantly, how could I save them from whatever danger they were in?The minutes ticked by agonizingly slow, the silence of the room weighing heavily on my shoulders. I felt a surge of frustration building within me, the urge to take action and do something, anything, to rescue my wife and mother from the clutches of their captors. Finally, the sound of my phone buzzing broke the silence, and I quickly grabbed it, my heart pounding in my chest. It was Camilla, her name flashing on the screen, and I answered it without hesitation."Damien," her voice came through the line, smooth and composed as ever. "Now, Isabella, remember to slice the vegetables thinly for the lasagna layers," she instructed, her voice warm and reassuring.I nodded, taking her advice to heart as I carefully wielded the knife. "Like this?" I asked, holding up a perfectly sliced zucchini for her inspection.Ava smiled approvingly. "Just like that, dear. You're a natural," she praised, her encouragement filling me with a sense of pride. As we worked side by side, Ava shared her secrets for creating the perfect steak marinade, imparting her culinary wisdom with the patience of a seasoned chef. Damien I was watchful during the conference meeting. I took my time to really look at the board members sitting at the table to see if I could see a member of the Founder's Association but none were seated at this conference. Even Rose St Dumas was not present. Maybe she was preparing her cronies of corrupt businessmen and women for the final show down.Camilla Valdez was also not present but Natalia was. I could not tell what was going on in her head as she gazed at me. If her mother was one of them, did that not make her automatically part of tht fold? Was I over reaching? If the plan with the detective worked, it meant that a lot of people will inevitably get hurt. "What is the profit margin for today?" I asked as I got down to business. "Eight percent since last year," Natalia said in a professional manner. "That's lower than last two years," I said with a frown. "That was due to the Al Vegas controversy," One of the board members said. "You mean the embezzlement," I replied
