Chapter 303

The man busily worked in the study for the entire day. He ate a quick lunch before going into the study again in a hurry.

He simply asked Jane to seek the servants’ help if she needed anything done.

Jane sat at the long corridor outside the manor and watched the gardener in the manor trim the grass and flowers. The sun was warm; the sky was blue; even the breeze carried an indistinct fragrance with it. She was put in a trance as though she had traveled back in time.

No one interrupted her. Unknowingly, she dozed off while lying on the bamboo bench.

Everything was perfect, so perfect that it seemed unreal.

If the straight and rigid figure standing at the end of the corridor could be ignored, then everything would be even more perfect.

At the end of the long corridor not far away, the man’s silver-white hair danced with the breeze, failing to conceal the loathing in those hazy eyes below the grey eyebrows.
