Chapter 9 - Tan Family

Suzie stared at the bracelet, didn’t know what to do with it. This was the first time she get to receive something from someone. It had always been her giving something to others that this sudden turn of tables somewhat warmed her heart.

“This… this is expensive. I don’t think I can take it.” She can smell Bella’s omega wolf and she wasn’t sure if it was right to take something this precious from someone who was at a bit of a disadvantage against her rank in society.

“Nah. That’s fake, so no need to feel burdened. You can choose to wear, keep or throw it away. Your choice.” Bella said with a grin before lying her head on the table and started to prepare for a nap despite the noise inside the rowdy room.

Suzie’s eyes went back to the dazzling sapphire ornament of the bracelet, and a soft chuckle left her lips.

Their family business is in the line of jewelry. There’s no way she can’t determine a genuine gem.

She stared at the bracelet a bit longer before she finally wore it around her wrist.

At noon, the university forum exploded with notifications about the new girl from the IT department. Apart from the unprecedented occurrence of the department accepting a transferee in the middle of the school year, rumors about her great beauty also resonated along the campus.

A lot of students who came from different departments came to check the validity of all the rumors, and during recess, the students even secretly took pictures of her, but unfortunately, she kept sleeping on her stomach.

No one was able to get a good shot of her face.

There were even other students that came running just to take a look at her.

Bella did not know what was going on at first. She was really confused about the number of people following and chasing after her.

It was Suzie who explained what was truly happening by handing out her own phone to her.

Bella casually scanned through the university forum using Suzie’s account.

A post hung on the front page of the forum gives an article about having beautiful and intelligent transferee students in the most renowned department of the university.

There is also a picture of her on it. Based on the angle it was taken secretly, her eyebrows are slightly averted, with a few impatient lines on her forehead, despite the cold blue eyes she was undeniably beautiful and amazing.

The article gathered countless retweets and nearly 10,000 comments on it.

“At this rate, you are just gonna find yourself being the face of the university on ads. I already know that you’re good looking but seems like your charisma reaches a lot more than I have anticipated,” Suzie said with a teasing smile as she retrieve her phone from Bella.

Bella chuckled a bit and pinched Suzie’s cheeks playfully. “What’s there to be happy about?”

Suzie’s lips protruded with Bella’s indifference about her own reputation but still followed her through the hallway.

Meanwhile, Caitlin immediately heard of Bella’s rising popularity and convinced herself that it was because of the Principal’s influence.

Her whole body was trembling with envy and agitation but she made sure to still look composed and soft in front of others.

“Cait, I saw you walking with this girl earlier, do you know each other?” one of her classmates who was seating across her asked curiously.

Caitlin pulled the corner of her mouth and said, "She is my sister. She’s my father’s daughter from one of the rouge slaves we managed to catch before. She just came from the countryside, I hope everyone will take care of her."

So it's a mistress’ daughter and a country bumpkin.

The students who were curious about Bella earlier were now a little bit disdainful, and the boys who had been a little interested in Bella and her beauty also dismissed the idea.

But Caitlin is still not happy.

She didn't have classes for the rest of the day, so she deliberately went to the IT department building and waited for Bella to get out of class.

"Bella, congratulations! Seems like you’ve been adjusting well here at school." Caitlin greeted with a smile, though her heart was full of hatred.

Bella irritatedly hissed after seeing her sister’s face and rolled her eyes. “Go away.”

Suzie who was following behind Bella snickered seeing how Bella treated the new girl who had arrived. By the way Caitlin dressed and look, she was so sure she was one of those two-faced bitches around the campus.

Her eyes gazed back at the woman in front of her whom she find to be so genuine and cool.

“How could you treat me like this? I’m still your older sister…” Caitlin said, playing the victim card in front of the eyes of many students.

But Bella, unbothered as always just brushed past her, leaving her talking to herself like the fool that she is.

Suzie was laughing as she follow behind Bella, and as soon as the two of them arrived at the school gate, they heard the students at the entrance of the school screaming madly.

"Ahhhhh, so handsome!"

"Crap, what kind of divine face is this!"

Suzie felt something good was bound to happen and excitedly grabbed Bella's hand, "It must be my brother coming!"

The two run through the crowd, and there is a black Maybach parked on the side of the road with a man leaning next to it.

He was wearing a high custom white suit and pants that outline the proportion of his unbelievable long legs.

The lines on the side of his face are as perfect as a sculpture, and his handsome face is covered with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. His eyes behind the lenses are deep and distant.

This is a face of a man who is favored by God.

At the same time, the man looked up and raised his eyebrows at that moment.

A wave of annoyance rushed to Bella’s heart.

It was him!
