GAVIN

it has been the same ever since we had our first fall and I'm hating it. I tried not to be affected by it but it's driving me crazy.

We got married for a purpose and that's what we should be doing. Each time I try to start a conversation with her, it always ends up in a fight and it doesn't sit well with me.

Once again, I'm out, having a shot of two to distract myself before I go out.

"Hey handsome," a girl appeared beside me, touching my shoulder while staring at me lustfully.

I removed her hand from my shoulder and looked away from her.

"What are you doing here alone?" She asked and I mentally scoffed.

I didn't reply to her because my response wasn't necessary.

"You know..." she placed her palm on my shoulder again. "For a man like you, it doesn't make sense for you to be alone, don't you think?"

I placed my hand on her and gently removed them. I called for the attention of the bartender.

"My bills please," I said," taking out my card from my wallet.

Third-person pov "You can't possibly be serious, Cole!" Whitney hissed as she stared back at Cole with an annoyed look on her face. "And why exactly do you think that I'm not being serious right now, Whitney? What else do you expect me to do? Did you really think that I was going to let my pride get in the way? I'm not that stupid, Whitney! Don't underestimate me like that," Cole responded, not liking how Whitney was reacting to the fact that he had told her about meeting up with Monique. The reason he didn't tell her beforehand was because he knew how dramatic she was, and the last thing he wanted was for her to let her emotions dictate how they should go about the fact that Monique was about to be a problem again. Whitney rolled her eyes at him, letting her irritating show before responding. "I'm starting to find it very difficult to believe you when you say you're not stupid, Cole. I mean, how do you not realize how stupid and embarrassing you must have looked when you decide

MONIQUEI was stunned. I was trying to comprehend all that he had just said to me. It didn’t feel real but then it was because he was right in front of me telling me what I should know about him, things he never said before. This was why he rescued me. He also had a vendetta against Whitney and was amused by my action that day when I interrupted their wedding by pouring a bucket of red paint on her white dress.Whitney wasn’t her real name. I couldn’t believe it. Does Cole know this? I thought to myself but then again if he doesn’t know it’s none of my business because it would be nice for her to deal with him just as she did with every other but at the same time her type shouldn’t be walking around freely. “I want to take her down. I want to expose her true identity to the world and for me to do that, I need your help. She is the cause of my younger brother's death and also the reason my mother is on the bed, lying helpless and paralyzed,” Gavin said through gritted teeth, I also di

Monique "This can't be happening," I muttered under my breath as I scrolled through the comments under one of the many articles that were posted about me. I honestly did not think that this situation was going to blow out of proportion this way, but my name hasn't left the media ever since the first article was released, and not only was everyone talking about the fact that I'm only recently divorced, they were also talking about how I was now the CEO of one of Gavin's companies. When I initially found out that an article was released, I had hoped that the situation would die down very quickly, but instead, it kept getting worse by the minute. Gavin hasn't stopped calling as many reporters as he knew to help him diffuse the situation, but it seemed as though the more he tried to put an end to the mess, the messier it would get. Right now, I was reading through an article that not only accused me of being a gold digger, but I was also accused of trying to get back at my ex-husb

Monique I walked into Gavin's office slowly, doing the very best that I could to mask the fact that I was nervous. As soon as I walked in, the first thing I saw was Gavin's father, Anthony Jones, standing in front of his son with a very disapproving look on his face. Mentally sighing, I closed the door behind me, and both men immediately turned to look in my direction. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the lady of the moment," Anthony said as soon as he saw me, and of course, I knew he was being sarcastic with his comment. "Hello, Mr. Jones. It's good to see you," I said, maintaining a polite tone. He scoffed as soon as I responded and then proceeded to roll his eyes at me. "I wish I could say the same for you, but unfortunately, I can't say it's good to see you because it's not good to see you," he hissed. "Do you realize how much embarrassment and shame you have brought into my family and to my last name? Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is for me to have a daughter-in

MONIQUE“You don’t have to worry about my dad,” Gavin said to me some seconds after his dad left. I heaved a sigh of deep relief. It was tense earlier and now I was able to maintain composure still made me surprised.“I cannot help but think about what he said though. We have to find out who is behind all of this. It has been weeks Gavin and my name is always out there, it’s like there’s someone who wants my downfall,” I explained to him. “My men are doing everything they can in their powers and it seems the person behind this also has a strong connection because they seem to prevent any hint or traces that leads back to them,” he replied.I closed my eyes, trying to mentally calm myself because I was starting to choke. I can’t keep avoiding it. No matter how hard I tried not to get affected, I was still affected and I hated it. “I spoke to Cole earlier today,” I revealed.“You did what? And what did he say?” Gavin inquired.“I went to speak to him concerning the news surrounding m

MONIQUE“You know what? Say whatever makes you sleep well at night okay? I am bigger than you and will always be and you will always be that girl that wants everything I want but won’t and can’t get it, that’s just simple as it is,” I stated firmly. I sighed deeply and I smiled at her. “You just wasted my time and I regret saying a word to you. Since you already said what it is that you have to say then you might as well let me go, alright?”I turned to leave but felt her arms around me. I frown at her, expecting her to let go but she doesn’t let go.“I hate you so much,” she said with so much venom laced in her tone and although it was not surprising, it felt annoying hearing her say it to me. “And why do you think I’m finished? You can’t leave unless I want you to so don’t make me angry,” she said boldly and I mentally scoffed in disbelief before taking her hand off me.“You don’t get to tell me what to do. MONIQUE“Exactly. She won’t succeed because I already know her plans and what she does. So this time around I would be able to get rid of her. I would have all the evidence that I want already to use and bring her down,” he said.“That’s where she loses it all. This is where her plans finally backfires,” I added.“But I do have a question tho. With all the wealth that she has acquired, what does she do with it and why isn’t it enough for her to stop?” I mean there must be something else making her do the same work without stopping. She has acquired a lot of money for her to finally start a new life but she refuses.“That’s another question I have in mind but the closer I get to her once my plans begin to work, the easier it will be for me to know a lot about her,” he replied. I sighed deeply. I took the glass of wine in his hand and took a sip.“I think I will call it a night and go to bed. I have a long day ahead,” I said getting up on my feet. “Alright. Goodnight. Monique Gavin and I walked into the hall where the event had already commenced, and many people were already present at the party. Despite how many times I told myself that I wasn't going to get nervous, the second I took in my surroundings and realized that I was surrounded by rich and famous people, the nervousness that I tried to suppress sprouted out, and I unconsciously started to clench my fists while holding on to my dress. "Are you okay?" Gavin asked. "You look pretty pale right now," he pointed out, and I felt a little embarrassed by how obvious it was that I was nervous. "Don't mind me, Gavin. I'm just a little nervous right now," I responded, and he chuckled."It's only understandable that you're nervous, but I want you to know that today you're here as my wife, and as my wife, you're unstoppable and untouchable. Third-person Pov “Con artist Jennifer Cabello has finally been caught after years of escaping the authorities. She has a record of drugging, manipulating, and stealing from men, as well as marrying them, and faking abuse in order to get divorce settlements. She was also discovered to be the murderer of her foster father, Robin Owen, as well as being involved in a drug-related business,” the newscaster went on, and Monique watched with a satisfied smile on her face. It's been a few days since Whitney was arrested, and as soon as she heard the news of her arrest, she hasn't stopped smiling. She couldn't believe that the person who almost ruined her life, as well as the lives of many other people, had finally been brought to justice, and she couldn't wait to hear what sentence Whitney was going to be given. She was currently at the rooftop of a restaurant, waiting for Gavin to arrive, and while she was waiting, she had decided to catch up on the news on her phone because she was eag

  • A Contract With Mr. Billionaire    96. The end (1)

Third-person POV Whitney was nervous, but she tried not to show how nervous she was, especially since she was going to be dealing with gang members, and she couldn't afford to let them know she was a novice. She wasn't about to give them the privilege of walking all over her, so she maintained a bold look on her face, and was very much ready to meet with them, close the deal and be on her way. She had been waiting for about half an hour now, and it was already late into the night.“Why the hell are they not coming?” she wondered out loud as her impatience grew. She typically wasn't a very patient person, and because of how dangerous what she was about to do was, she needed them to get here as soon as possible so that she can get this over with. After waiting for another five minutes, she would spot a thug like man walking toward her, and immediately think to herself that it had to be one of the gang members. “Whitney?” he asked when he finally approached her, and she couldn't h

That day a lady came by the house. I was taking a stroll around that street. The street is usually quiet because nobody lives there. That cottage is the only cottage there and each time I took a stroll there, I never saw anyone so I was surprised to see a young pretty lady.” The man revealed. He continued with his statements, “I didn’t see her face at first until she turned to look around before entering the house.”“It was during the day that she entered the cottage but at midnight, I saw that lady leaving the cottage and you might be wondering what I was doing there so I will tell you,” he said to the officers before they questioned him any further.“As an old man, I take a stroll a lot of the time because of my legs. Whitney's Pov I was seriously running out of money, and it was making me anxious. I had spent way too long at the hotel, as well as spending a lot of money there, but after the stunt I pulled in Gavin's house, I really checked out of the hotel and came to a much cheaper one. I couldn't remember the last time I stayed in such a cheap hotel, but because I didn't have any more money to spluuch and I also needed to remain low-key for a while, I had no other choice but to forcefully enjoy my stay here. I still hadn't heard any news on what happened in the house, but I was desperately hoping that I would hear about Monique's death because that was the only thing that could make me happy. I desperately needed to hear that she was paying for mocking me and that Gavin was whiling away in his misery for daring to make a fool of me. I had a television on for that reason, and I also kept scrolling and scrolling on the internet to see if the news would come up. It had been almost a da

  • A Contract With Mr. Billionaire    93. Still in shock

Third-person Pov Despite everything, Monique still could not believe what she had just experienced. It all still felt like a dream to her, and she was waiting for someone to wake her up from this horrible nightmare that she just had. If there was one thing she had avoided all her life, it was getting involved in any situation that could lead to a fire. She was always extra careful when it came to anything that could cause a fire, so the fact that she experienced being in a fire again after trying so hard to avoid it all her life made her feel like she was losing her mind. It also reminded her of everything that she had gone through in her childhood, starting from how she would have died in the fire that her father started if her mother hadn't protected her and how a fire was what ended her mother's life. It had all come rushing back to her in that moment, and now that she was out of danger, she couldn't remember the fear she had felt while it was happening and how it had resur

I am not one to lose and Gavin chose the wrong person to mess with.” Whitney muttered to herself as she watched Gavin and Monique walk away look so happyShe clenched her fist with a frown on her face as knots in her stomach tightened. It hurts so much that she feels this way. She didn’t expect any of this to happen. When she did what she did for him, she expected to have a but it seems Gavin wouldn’t give her that and she refused to lose. She had lost everything as it was and even if she had to do the worst of it all to get what she wanted then she’d do it and if she could not get what she wanted then nobody would get what they wanted. With that thought in her, she walked away with so much in her mind. Whitney's Pov I was in my car, waiting outside Gavin Jones's estate to see if at any point he would come out of the house.I had tried calling him a few more times, but it seemed like he had completely blocked my number, which made absolutely no sense, and it annoyed me in ways that I couldn't even begin to describe. I wanted to see if I would run into him by chance, so I was waiting for him and hoping that he would come out of the house so that I would pretentiously run into him and ask him why he was avoiding me after I helped him. After waiting for almost two hours and wondering if I should give up or not, I finally spotted a car driving out of the estate. I couldn't see who was behind the car, but seeing how one of the security guards bowed, I concluded that it had to be Gavin and no one else. My curiosity getting the better of me, I followed behind the car and drove behind it for about an hour until the car finally stopped in front of a spa that I recognized. When I realize

He could immediately tell that his mother had gotten uncomfortable seeing that his father had suddenly shown up, and the last thing he wanted was for his mother to be uncomfortable. “What is it, Gavin? Can't I come here to see my ex-wife after she finally recovered from her stroke? Am I in the wrong for coming to pay her a visit?” Gabriel Jones questioned, wearing an amused look on his face that only pissed Gavin off even more.He turned to look at his mother and Monique, who were both staring back and forth at them with confused looks on their faces as well. “Mon, could you please escort my mother to her bedroom and keep her there until I'm done escorting this man out of the house?” he requested.Gabriel scoffed. “I didn't come here to see you, and I'm definitely not going to be escorted out of here without speak
