He was indeed an old, sly fox. He would not allow any errors in his work. To put on a convincing act, he had even tricked his own family. Christina really did not know what to say.

John knew that she would look down on his actions, but he had no other choice.

“Christina, there are many things in the government that aren’t as simple as they may seem. I was forced to do these things all this while. However, please believe in me when I say that the only person that I will ever love is your mother.”

Christina smiled coldly. “Mayor John, my mother passed away more than ten years ago. You’ve already married another woman too. Please refrain from saying these disgusting words ever again.”

She ignored John’s facial expression. “I shall return since you aren’t sick. I’m sick too. As such, I can’t be bothered to act alongside you.”
