Chapter 285

“These are two different matters!” Matthew howled. “If you raised me, then I shouldn’t be able to separate right from wrong. If that’s the case, then I would prefer not to have had you raise me! Furthermore, you must’ve raised me just because you wanted to secure your place as Mrs. Henderson!”

“You... You insolent child! Get away from me!” The woman was heartbroken as she used her shaky finger to point at Matthew. “I’ll just act as if I’ve never had a son!”

Matthew immediately stood up and took a glimpse of the woman before walking away. After seeing her son’s silhouette eventually vanish from her field of vision, she sat down dejectedly as her tears started to pour.

The maid walked toward her. “Madam, are you alright?”

Matthew returned to his old mansion and ignored everyone. He then rushed to his room and immediately locked the door.

He could not describe the sadness and disappointment that he felt in his heart. After quite some time, the butler knocked on the door.
