Chapter 16

Author: Crimson Ripples
Matthew Henderson did not bring Christina Williams back to the company after dinner. Instead, they went for a stroll at the local park and window shopping at the shopping complex.

Losing her patience, Christina reminded him of the emergency meeting scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Annoyed and pissed by this, Matthew reluctantly drove back to the company.

The meeting which was supposed to be 2- hour long ended in half an hour’s time. Complaining of a backache as soon as he got back to the office, he ordered Christina to give him a back rub.

In the middle of the massage, an assistant delivered a document to his office. As Matthew went through the papers, his frivolous grin wiped off his face as solemnity overtook it.

Christina quietly placed a cup of tea by his front desk as she stood by a far corner waiting for his orders.

A moment flicked past before Matthew raised his head. “Do we have anything scheduled for tonight?”

“Yes. You have been arranged to meet Director Carter from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development,” Christina replied immediately.

Lowering his head again, Matthew went through the documents in his hands repeatedly as a dignified silence lingered in the air.

This was the first time Christina saw such a serious side of the spoiled, rich brat. Deep in concentration, perhaps Matthew was not as bad as they say.

After some time, Matthew nodded his head in approval.

Both the Hendersons and the Larson family were trying to get their hands on this project. To be able to do that, Matthew had to get the green light from Director Carter from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development before the Larsons did.

He was quite sure that Michael Larson would share the same thoughts. After all, Michael had been living here for some time and would definitely know which strings to pull.

Aside from that, there were rumors that Michael would be the Mayor’s son-in-law soon. If this were true, it would pose a huge threat to Matthew.

If the Mayor were to side with the Larsons, his chances of obtaining this project would immediately go down the drain.

Christina looked over at Matthew and noticed how worried he looked. Deep in thought, it seemed like he had met with trouble this time.

Christina had only been in charge of assisting Matthew’s job. Not being an ordinary assistant, Christina did not have to help out in the business per se. She really was just hired to serve him drinks and to arrange his transportation.

This was what Sean Young had told her in the beginning. She just had to do her job and keep her nose out of business matters.

Keeping that in mind, she would leave the room whenever there were meetings or whenever he had discussions with his employees.

Soon, it was time for her to leave for home. Packing up her things, Christina thought that working hours were over when Matthew stopped her. “You’re attending the dinner with me tonight.”

As Matthew was the host for tonight’s dinner, he had specifically picked to dine in the most exquisite restaurant in the city.

Christina walked into the private dining room only to realize how scandalous everything was. Next to every man sat a voluptuous woman. Busty yet gorgeous, the women persuaded the men to drink more alcohol as they tended to the men’s needs.

Matthew was the best when it came to these.

After dinner, Matthew brought the men to Dynasty Nightclub, the biggest nightclub in the city. Although it was supposed to be a nightclub, the place had also offered prostitutes to fulfill their customer’s sexual desires. As if that was not enough, Matthew paid for every prostitute the nightclub had to offer and told the men to take their pick.

A while later, things were getting heated up in the private room. A few bottles of beer had broken through the men's reserve as they started to flirt with the prostitutes around them.

One of the guests started to lose his temperament. Pushing a prostitute against the couch, he tore off her clothes. Unable to tolerate this any longer, Christina stood up and walked out of the room.

Ironically, the corridor had a sense of peacefulness and serenity. Christina leaned against the wall outside of the washroom and closed her eyes. She rubbed her fingers against the temples of her head in hopes that it would provide her with instant relief.

When she opened her eyes, she found a man standing in front of her, his eyes filled with lust.

“How much for a night, sweetie?” Shocked, Christina instinctively took a step back. The man followed closely as he backed her up to a corner of the hallway.

Intoxicated, the man and his friends had gone to throw up in the toilet. He was not expecting to see such a beautiful woman standing outside the toilet. Seeing how beautiful she looked, his sex drive surged.

Christina ignored him and put on her shades. Just as she was about to leave, the man violently grabbed her by her wrists, lowered his head, and tried to kiss her.

Panicking, Christina struck him across the face.

“Smack!” The hand landed on his face. As the man came back to his senses, he realized what had happened as he stared furiously at the woman in front of him. “How dare you hit me?”

By now, a few of his lackeys had come looking for him. “Are you okay, Master Carter?”

Glaring at Christina in anger, he said, “I’m fine! Bring her back to the private room.”

“Master Carter, she’s not a callgirl.”

“I don’t give a d*mn! If she has the guts to hit me, I’ll show her what I’m made of!”

The two lackeys did not say anything as they forcefully dragged Christina along with them.

Christina struggled against their grasps but she was no man. She was a defenseless woman, who was up against three strong men, and it was only a matter of time before she was dragged into the private room.

He shut the door with the two lackeys guarding outside the room. Evil painted over his face as Master Carter walked over to her direction.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” Christina was so frightened that her voice started to tremble.

“You never should’ve hit me. Let me teach you a lesson tonight.” As Master Carter moved forwards, Christina found herself moving backward until she backed up on the stone, cold wall. She had nowhere to hide now.

“Don’t come closer or I’ll scream!”

“Scream all you want, but no one would come to your aid. Even if they wanted to, they wouldn't dare to. Do you know who you messed with?” Reaching his hand out, Master Carter grabbed the collar of her shirt and gave a rough tug. A small chunk of her shirt tore off as it left a huge hole in it.

Instinctively protecting her chest with her bare arms, the man lunged forward again as he continued to rip off her shirt. Throwing her against the couch, Master Carter hungrily leaped on her body.

The strong, pungent smell of alcohol penetrated her nostrils as she felt a wave of disgust overflow her. She struggled as he tried to kiss her again. “You f*cking beast!”

To her dismay, her misery seemed to fuel up his excitement as adrenaline pumped through his veins.

With one hand pressing Christina down, he used the other to tear off what was left of her shirt, exposing her pale, delicate skin in a swift move.

Desire burned underneath the man’s eyes as he tore away Christina’s skirt.

Christina knew that she was doomed. She did not give in and started to claw violently at the man’s face. Not expecting her to do that, his face started to bleed.

Master Carter had always gotten his way especially when it came to women. Losing his patience, he began to become annoyed with her.

His palm landed hard on her face. Turning back at his men, Master Carter let out an order. “Strip off all of her clothes. You guys can have her when I’m done.”

Christina did not know what to do anymore. As her head spun from the slap, she realized that blood had trickled down her mouth.

Just as she was about to give in, the door to the private room swung open with a thud as a tall man walked in. “I see you’re in a good mood, Master Carter!”

The voice sounded familiar. Gathering all her might, she bobbed her head towards the door where a tall figure dressed in black stood. She gazed at it, only to see Michael Larson staring back at her coldly in her direction.

does the writer realizes that everything Matthew has been doing is sexual harassment? back massages? threatening to cut her salary? not to mention the events in the hospital and their home?

“Just a little while ago.” Sean came closer. “Christina, we need to talk.”She nodded and followed him to the garden. He helped her to get comfortable on the bench. “Do you believe in fate?”She shook her head, unsure where this was leading. “I didn’t either as I’m a firm believer that hard work always pays off. But now I do.”He looked her in the eye. “I’ve been lost and struggled a lot since that incident, unsure how to face you. After considering this seriously for the past few days, I’ve finally mustered enough courage to meet you again.”A sigh escaped her lips. “Sorry, Sean. It’s all my fault.”“No! It has nothing to do with you, Christina. It’s my fault that my love is not strong enough. I discovered that Suzy is really great after spending the past few months with her. She’s just like you. She’s gentle, kind, pure, and adorable. I realized I’ve fallen in love with her.”This was not what he really thought. He loved Christina since the beginning of time and believed he

“That’s old history. We think Michael is actually pretty good.”“We? Who do you mean?” Christina teased.Ariel and Matthew had been spending a lot of time together lately. Christina went through that herself and understood the passion in her friend’s eyes. This silly girl was actually in love. She could not be happier for her.“Who else? Matthew, of course!” Ariel glared at Christina.“I say whatever’s on my mind, unlike you, who always keep everything to yourself and get stuck in dilemmas. Every good opportunity slips past you because of your indecisiveness!” “How can I not be? I promised to marry him but I’m now trying to convince him to marry someone else. Is this really the best thing for him? Will he be happy?”Ariel questioned after a brief silence, “Christina, let me ask you this. Who do you care for more? Michael or Sean?”Christina asked herself the same question too. She naturally cared more about Michael in the past, but she also started to develop a strong feeling f

The following morning, Serena hurried to the police station to file a report. The police treated this with high importance and warned her to be careful of Darren Cain as he was a vicious gang member who had served over a decade in prison. She became more frightened after hearing that. Immediately, she moved out of that house and rented a place somewhere quiet. As she was terrified, she stayed indoors for the next few days.Much of Christina’s stress was relieved without having to deal with Serena’s pestering.“Christina, John was at the last stage of cancer. It was lucky enough that he lasted until he did. This is his fate, so try not to get too upset.” Francis comforted the dispirited woman. It did not make any difference even though he was not the real Francis. He had long adapted to the identity after assuming it for so many years. Most importantly, Christina was still willing to treat him like a real uncle even after finding out the truth.“Don’t worry, Uncle, I’m fine.”
