However, Christina only took a glance before she swiftly signed the papers. No sign of reluctance showed on her face as she turned and left.

If she had loved Michael, she would have dug into the questions, but she did nothing of that sort and sealed the fate of their marriage. Just like that, she simply walked away without any sign of hesitation.

A few days later, Francis showed up at the Larson family. “Christina wanted me to come to pick up her wedding ring and the divorce decree, Mr. Larson.”

If eyes could kill, the rage in Francis’s eyes would have shot Michael down. Despite that, Francis held himself back and called out “Mr. Larson” calmly. This was how he had addressed him ever since the marriage to Christina. He had never taken him as his son-in-law and would never do that.

It was as if he knew that the two would end up in divorce.

“Where is she?” Michael gritted his teeth. “The divorce is between me and her. The divorce decree will not be issued if she’s not here.”
