Six loud shots echoed on the four corners of the garage. But Gonzalo's men were shocked instead of satisfied. They all looked at each other and then back to their boss. Patricia is panting heavily, waiting for sweet death to take her. But it never came. Tasha, who's standing behind friend, is wide-eyed, and fear-stricken.
"Pat?" Her voice is shaking. "No, Pat?" She started crying, thinking that her friend is dead because of her. When Patricia slowly turn around to face her, she expected bullet holes and blood.
"Tash, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Tasha cried harder. Even with Patricia's addicted state, she is still the same person who cares for her. But if it's not Patricia who got shot, who?
"Jericho! My God!" Tasha fell to her knees as Patricia ran to her. She couldn't look at the man who helped her and cared for her. "No!"
Patricia is not crying but she is shaking. Her whole body is shaking. She's feeling a different kind of anger. A kind that she never felt in her entire life. She's in a blind rage. All she can think about is killing him. She wants him dead.
"Why!" Patricia let Tasha go and stand up. "Why do you have to kill him? What did he do to you? Why do you have to threaten my best friend? Do you think I didn't know that Rick is already dead? That you had your men kill him? Do you think I wouldn't know?" Patricia turns around to look at Gonzalo. Her face is blank. No tears, no sadness, but her eyes are blood red. "You're a monster. You don't have a heart. You have no regards for human life. I hate you." Patricia looked him straight into his eyes. "I hate you with all my heart. I want you dead. I want you dead!"
-----
Gonzalo is about to turn around and leave when he heard Patricia's voice.
"Why!" Her voice is cold
"Why do you have to kill him? What did he do to you? Why do you have to threaten my best friend? Do you think I didn't know that Rick is already dead? That you had you men kill him? Do you think I wouldn't know?" Gonzalo is nailed to the spot.
"You're a monster. You don't have a heart. You have regards for human life. I hate you." Gonzalo felt a sting in his heart. He's hurt by Patricia's words but he didn't want to show it.
"I hate you with all my heart. I want you dead. I want you dead!" The sting he felt turned into a stabbing pain. Hearing that Patricia hates him hurts more than being shot. But this is what he wanted.
Gonzalo gathered all the strength he has to face her. "Do you think I care? You're a whore, what importance do you have, huh?" It took everything inside Gonzalo to maintain his eye contact with Patricia. Her eyes are full of hatred and it's killing him inside. "Nobody cares about what you feel. You're nothing, to them, to the society or me!" He punched Patricia in her stomach causing her to faint. Gonzalo catched her before she falls to the cemented floor.
"I will let you go, but the next time you try something, I won't think twice about finally killing you."
Tasha watched as Gonzalo carries Patricia out of the garage. His men following him closely behind. They took Jericho's body, possibly to dispose of it. She was left alone, crying. From the pain of watching someone important to her be killed because of helping her, and her best friend being imprisoned in a life with a heartless beast like Gonzalo Valenzuela.
-------
Tasha went home after leaving Gonzalo Valenzuela's property. Her tears won't stop falling and her heart feels like they are shattering repeatedly in a million pieces. Tasha blames herself for what happened to Jericho. If she didn't call him, if she just drove further, he would still be alive right now.
Tasha saw the gun he gave her. If she brought this with her, maybe Jericho would still be alive. Maybe, she would be able to save him. Or maybe, she's dead too. But with the pain she's feeling right now, Tasha preferred to be dead than free.
"Tasha! Are you there? Come on! Open the door!" Tasha's curiosity was piqued when she heard someone knocking so hard on the door.
"Kim? Are you okay?" She asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, it's you that I'm worried about. What happened. " Kim asked, concern.
"Nothing, what are you doing here?" Tasha asked back.
"I saw your car, so I thought I'd stop by." Their topics drift into something else. "Where have you been? I saw Gonzalo's men that day I was not able to forgive myself. I thought something happened to you."
"I'm okay," Tasha answered as she looked away.
"Yeah, do you need anything? I'm so sorry, I'm really tired." Tasha lied. She just wants to be alone.
"Have you been crying, Tasha?" But Kim could see the sadness in her eyes.
"No, I'm okay. I just want to take a rest." Tasha insisted.
"Okay, just call me if you need anything." Kim said before leaving.
As soon as Tasha closed the door, her tears started falling again. She wants to forget about Jericho's death but his dead body is engraved into her mind. Every time she close her eyes, Tasha could see him. He's a lifeless body lying on the cemented floor, with a pool of blood around him. It's like she keeps relieving the same nightmare over and over again, and she couldn't wake up. A memory of Jericho suddenly flashed to her mind.
-Flashback-
"No matter what happens, I will always be here for you," Jericho said while smiling. "I will always be the guy you can come to whenever you have a problem. Someone who would drop everything he's doing just to come to you. I promise you that you will never be alone in this world."
-End of Flashback-
-------
Patricia woke up after a few hours and the first thing she did was break everything she touched inside her room. She destroyed her clothes, her bed, her bags and shoes, and every single piece of furniture around her. She screamed until there's no voice to scream with anymore.
"Patricia, that's enough. Look at your hands, they're bleeding already." Yaya Elena tried to calm her down.
"All of you! Leave me alone!" But Patricia won't listen to them.
She doesn't care how expensive those things are or how important they are to Gonzalo. All she can think about is the unparalleled anger inside of her. She wants to kill Gonzalo but she know that she can't, she wants to kill herself because she felt it was all her fault but she can't. She wants to leave but she can't. All she can do is take out her anger by destroying everything around her.
"Patricia, please. That's enough." Yaya Elena continuously calms her down.
"I said leave me alone!" She threw everything she can to make them go away. "Get out! Get out!"
Someone opened the door and she almost threw the broken vase at that person. "Whoa! Easy, hon. It's me, okay? It's just me." Uncle Bob entered her room with his hands up in front of him. "Are you okay, child?"
"Uncle Bob!" He is the club owner of XFactor where Tasha and Patricia worked. But aside from being an owner, he's also a good friend to the two ladies.
"What's going on? Why are you destroying your things?" He first asked while looking at the mess Patricia made in her room.
"I don't wanna be here," Patricia said sincerely. "I want to leave." She started crying.
"Then why are you here?" Uncle Bob asked her. "Is it because of the money? The drugs?" He asked. "Because if you say that it is? I won't believe you. You're beautiful, you can have any man give you whatever you want. You don't have to be here. You don't have to be a prisoner. Maybe there's something else?" He looked straight into Patricia's eyes. "Maybe there's a real reason why you stay here. The question is, what is it?"
"Why else would I want to stay here?" Patricia asked in disbelief.
"I don't know, Pat. You're the only one who could answer that question." Uncle Bob held her hand. "No one else."
"I don't understand myself anymore," Patricia said with a voice of surrender. "I don't know why I do the things I do." Patricia sat down on the floor, and Uncle Bob sat beside her. "I don't like myself, hell, I don't even feel human anymore."
"Pat, you're the only one who can answer those questions that's been bugging you." He smiled at Patricia like how a father would smile at his daughter. "You're the only one who could solve your problem. If you think you want to leave, then why stay? But you're staying, so ask yourself why. Find the answer in your heart."
"Thanks, Uncle Bob." Patricia hugged him.
------
Gonzalo is watching Patricia on his laptop's screen. He was clenching his jaw the whole time. When he received a call from his security guards to inform him that Uncle Bob is outside. He immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
"What's going on? Why are you destroying your things?" He first asked while looking at the mess Patricia made in her room.
"I don't wanna be here," Patricia said sincerely. "I want to leave." She started crying.
"Then why are you here?" Uncle Bob asks her. "Is it because of the money? The drugs?" He asked. "Because if you say that it is? I won't believe you. "You're the only one who could solve your problem. If you think you want to leave, then why stay? But you're staying, so ask yourself why. Find the answer in your heart."
"Thanks, Uncle John." Patricia hugged him. "Thank you for coming to visit me."
"Remember, it'll be only be you who could answer your questions."
Gonzalo listened to their conversation, and Patricia's words hurt him. He felt a great regret for treating her so bad, but he felt like he has no other choice.
Tasha's visiting Patricia every day and to her confusion, Gonzalo never bothered her again. He always stays out of their way whenever the two ladies bond. Tasha also notices that Patricia's normal state is being a regular occurrence. Tasha can talk to her more clearly. But what shocks her more is that Tommy's nannies are always bringing him to his mother. Even though he doesn't understand what is happening, she feels pleased about it."Hey, kiddo. How are you?" Tasha happily talks to Tommy in the garden when Gonzalo arrived with Patricia closely in his heels."Gonzalo, come on. I've been doing everything you want." Patricia complains like a child."And so?" Gonzalo responded."Why won't you let me?" Patricia insisted."Why do you insist on using drugs?" Gonzalo asked, losing his patience. Patricia couldn't find the right reason so decided to shut up."You, look out for them. Don't let Patricia out of your sight or I'll serve your severed hea
Gonzalo woke up feeling different than the day before. He took a quick shower and went to Tommy's room. Yaya Elena was about to visit the little angel when she saw Gonzalo entered the room. Quietly, she approached the door and watched as Gonzalo pick Tommy up and play with him."Hola pequeño, did you sleep well?" Yaya Elena heard him talk to Tommy. The little boy's face is full of wonder. He's trying to recognize Gonzalo."You have your mother's eyes. Full of emotions, but with the hint of devilishness." He said, smiling. Yaya Elena never saw Gonzalo smiled since the day his wife and son died."You can take them out, you know. Maybe out of town." Yaya Elena finally announced herself."I'm thinking of the same thing, actually," Gonzalo admitted. "What do you think of the Caribbean?""That's a great idea. I'm sure Patricia would love to see the Caribbean sea." Yaya Elena excitedly said."Great!" Gonzalo replied smiling. He passed Tommy
Tasha watched Gonzalo and Patricia arrived with Tommy at the. The ship was tall so she couldn't what exactly they were saying but the wind brings sounds from time to time. She heard Gonzalo saying that Tommy called him Papa. She smiled. Tommy never experienced having, not even the presence of Patricia. Maybe that's the reason why Tommy was so quick to acknowledge him as a father."Hey, Tasha! I've got something for you!" Patricia excitedly called Tasha from the port of the ship. When she approached them, she noticed that Gonzalo never let go of Tommy. He plays with the kid and talks to him. He even teaches Tommy Spanish words that the kid would laugh about. Tasha can see the happiness in Patricia's eyes as she watched the two of them. Even Gonzalo's men seem to enjoy playing with Tommy. If this will be Patricia's life, Tasha could never complain. She will be the happiest friend, seeing Patricia live a good life like this. But she still fears the way of Gonzalo's
Patricia chose to ignore the small argument she had with Gonzalo. She didn't want to ruin their happiness. After arriving in Aruba, she realized that Gonzalo owns the beach house they are staying in. The scenery is breathtaking that she almost forgot who are the people she is with. They looked normal while sharing stories and laughing. Even Tasha is getting along with them nicely. But what makes her the happiest is seeing Gonzalo teach his son, Tommy how to swim. Ever since their lunch date, Gonzalo rarely let Tommy out of his sight. He even insists on feeding him, changing his diapers, and looking out for him. Patricia remembered what Gonzalo told her the night she had a nightmare.- Flashback-"Love your son, Patricia, take of him." They just finished their third steamy sex for the night. Patricia lays next to Gonzalo with her head on his shoulder."What?" Patricia heard him but she doesn't understand why would he say those words."I want you to
Gonzalo became more caring to Patricia when they got back from Aruba. He will call her every hour to ask how is she. He will come home unannounced with gifts for Patricia and Tommy. Every one of Gonzalo's men started to notice the changes in him but nobody dared to say anything about it. Because Gonzalo also became more protective of her."Where is she?" Gonzalez asked his men when he arrived."At Tommy's room, boss." Gonzalez smiled and went straight to the little boy's room. His henchmen looked at one another still not used to the daily mood of the ruthless boss.Gonzalo remains to be the scary man who kills without remorse. But the difference is, he found a reason to be. He needs the most feared, most powerful, so no one would there cross him. Gonzalo wants to protect Patricia and Tommy to the best of his capacity."How's the little boy?" Gonzalez asked Patricia the moment entered the room."He's fine." Patricia coldly."What's wrong?" Go
In a sprawling 45,000 sq. ft. palace-like estate, men in suits roam around the property armed with M16A4 rifles. They all looked like well-trained military men in fancy clothes. The whole property is like a palace straight out of fairytale books. Beautifully trimmed shrubs and bushes are artfully aligned in the middle of the property, surrounding a majestic artificial waterfall. Pine trees are perfectly lined on both sides of the property as a boundary between the central area and the woods. The entrance to the property is a steel archway that reads Maxfords at the top. Followed by a spacious driveway, American elms lined up on each side of the driveway. But the grandest of all is the three-story palace-like Victorian mansion—three porches in front and on both sides and two high towers. It's like stepping into another era where royalties are revered. You could imagine a monarch with a fashionable gown and a crown walking around the property with helpers following them a

The two of them made up for the times they spent apart. Patricia will bring her dad to the places they used to visit when her mother was still alive. In just a few of being together, Anthony Harrington's condition improved. He started to gain back his weight and usual glow."Dad, can you tell me about mom's side of the family? I realized that I never met any one of them." Patricia asked her father as they sat in the grassy area of the lake at William B. Umstead State Park."Honestly, sweetheart? I never met them either. Your mom and I met at the church one Sunday, and I immediately noticed her beauty. So much like you. You are the spitting image of your mother. I courted her; she said yes to me. Then we got married and had you. But I never had the chance to meet them. You know what? I just realized that she jus

Early in the morning, one of Gonzalo's servants knock on their bedroom door. There was a delivery dropped off at the gate addressed to Gonzalo's name. It was a sealed long wooden box, only larger than a coffin by one or two inches. Nobody touched it yet, because they were all waiting for the two bosses to come down. A putrid smell is coming out from the box, and all of them are too familiar in such smell. The moment Gonzalo and Patricia came down to the living room, they immediately gave the order to open the wooden box. And, no matter how strong their stomachs are, seeing what was the content of the box rattled them. "Oh, God! That's Benson." One of their men exclaimed. "I'm going to skin those bastard alive!" Another one yelled out of anger. "Calm down, boys. This is a good thing. He is running on blind rage, and his tripping. A rabid animal is easier to hunt because they don't have strategy anymore. They are working on rage." "Does that mea
Tasha was shocked about everything that followed after knowing the truth about Patricia's identity. As complicated as it is, she didn't realize that it could get anymore messed up than it already is. But, the funny thing is, Franklin didn't waste time claiming what was his. He came to Valenzuela estate with a hundred of his men, all armed, and prepared for war.She honestly felt scared that chaos would erupt, more so when Gonzalo went out to meet him. Franklin threatened to kill everyone at the estate if Gonzalo won't give Patricia to them. But, when one of his announced that Patricia was spotted running away through the southern part of the wooded area surrounding Gonzalo's property. If not for Darryl who took her deep into the woods where he told t

-Flashback-Gilbert Just got home from a business dealing with his boss, some of their best men. Violence was not part of the plan. However, there unforeseen events that occurred, and one sassy response led to insults, until the first shot was fired. Bloodshed was indeed unavoidable."Oh, my God! Are you okay?""It's not my blood. I'm fine, babe.""Thank God."Deborah hugged Gilbert after ensuring that he wasn't hurt. The moment that her heartbeat turned to normal, she remembered her surprised. The memory of Gilbert's look when he said having a child is his greatest dream is still fresh in his mind."What are you doing?"
