Lexie glared at Zheme as he shrugged on his jacket, hand slowly twisting the door knob as he looked back at her. "I'm ready."

That wasn't what Lexie wanted to hear, but unfortunately for her, those words were what left the cunning fool's lips. "How could you?" She asked, voice strong with malice. "You said you weren't gonna go."

Zheme sighed for the hundredth time, hand disregarding the knob to drop lifelessly by his side. "I wasn't gonna go, but it's different now since dad called."

"Why is it different?"

"He said he had something important to talk about, maybe he wants to find out if you're ready for marriage."

Marriage?

That man must be a bigger fool than Zheme.

"Well in that case, I am not, tell him that."

Zheme's face twisted into a frown, back resting against the door. "Last night you said you we

Lexie's heart that was foolish enough to believe him tore right open, her eyes leaking hot tears as she drowned in betrayal. He promised! He said he wouldn't, yet he still went ahead and did. What a fool she was, thinking she could change him. What a fool she was, to have believed him. What a damn fool! She had made a complete idiot out of herself all because she was too gullible. Tearing her gaze away from the floor and up to his dark eyes, Lexie rubbed her burning cheek. "Why...?" Her voice was croaky and dry, subdued and audibly vulnerable, yet still Zheme tucked his hands in the closure of his pockets, eyes assessing her rather coldly as he voiced out..."Wasn't it a rule to stay away from my office? Or did you foolishly forget?" His words hit her right in the chest and it seems that was his aim all along; to puncture her

Zheme sat in his office, unable to go to bed. After all, he had done something he had promised not to. He had slapped her and once again beaten her into unconsciousness. He had said some pretty awful things too and he was terribly sorry, but his heart held no regret. What he had done, had to be done. It wasn't an excuse, it was just the plain truth. Sighing, he reclined in his chair, mind traveling back to the conversation he and his father had earlier. •••—Flashback—••• • "Son." As always, that was the first word to escape the pits of Maxwell's mouth, a sly smile on his lips as he twirled his office chair to the left. "It's been so long since I've seen you, how have you been?" "Fine father." Zheme replied, voice calm despite the lingering fear he felt for his father. "How about you?" "

  • A Bride For The CEO   CHAPTER 63— HEARTBROKEN

Lexie woke up in the same room she had grown to dread, eyes droopy, lips dry, body overly weak. Her hands were shackled above her head, feet restrained to the floor and though she wasn't sure how to feel about her current position, she was certain that fear was what she felt most. Fear of what to come, fear of who he had become, so much fear that she felt as though it was stifling her. It was settled around her neck, tightening as the seconds ticked by, it was like a snake, slithering down her skin, planning to eat her alive. It was frustrating, to fear the person you were once so comfortable around and it was sad to still think that everything he did up until now was just a slip up. He had promised her and he had kept that promise for so long, so why break it now, why hit her? Why restrain her? Why..? Just why...? She had glared at him before, sh

Zheme set the pancakes and the syrup on the wooden table, a blatant frown on his lips, a tenuous pain in his heart and the sad look that had been on Lexie's face haunting his mind. Her eyes had held so much pain, but her expression was what depicted her augmenting lugubriousness, the tears that left her eyes, the cries of hurt that left her lips...Zheme saw and heard them all, but all he could do was ignore them when he really wanted to just...just hold her. She had looked so vulnerable, so hurt and yet all Zheme could do was bestow upon her, more pain, more sadness, more of everything she obviously didn't want. If she really hadn't hated him before, then she must hate him now. After all, he had broken a promise that even he never dreamt of breaking, but alas, what is done is done, he can never reverse time, but maybe he can make up for making such a terrible mistake by leading her on a path of happiness when

Zheme sat her in his lap by the table, pulling the dish closer. "Here Kitten, eat."With tears in her heart, Lexie took ahold of her fork and started doing just what she had been told... She ate and when she was done, she turned to look at him, eyes still red and not withholding anything but the pain of his betrayal. "I'm full."Zheme nodded at that, lifting her and taking her up the flight of stairs to their shared bedroom. "I already ran you a bath." He sat her on his right knee, using his now free hand to twist the knob and push the door open. "Take a shower and I'll be waiting for you on the bed."He placed her on her feet on the bathroom floor and watched as she staggered further inside without uttering a word. Lexie forced herself to swallow the last piece of chicken on her plate, then glared up at Zheme who was currently washing his dish. His back was turned to her, broad shoulders shifting along with every movement of his hands.Three days had passed since he had locked her in the dungeon, and oh, how she wished she could just stab him in the neck, or in the side, or better yet in the head, after all, thats where his sickness was...in his damn head.Since breakfast, he kept ordering her around, kept demanding control and Lexie just wanted to shove something down his throat. He had taken enough from her, her trust, her heart and now he wanted her submission. He'd get submission alright, but only until Lexie found out how to screw off those bars off of those damn windows."Lexie, bring your plate."Lexie's glare intensified, he didn't even ask if she was finished with it, but either way, Lexie rose out of her chair, grabbed her plate and brought it to him.

  • A Bride For The CEO   CHAPTER 67— FACE FEARS

Zheme gained consciousness as soon as Lexie's knee connected with his stomach. His eyes found her sleeping form and in disbelief, he shook his head. Every morning she'd kick or hit him somewhere, involuntarily waking him out of his sleep while she still slept peacefully and it wasn't fair, he liked sleep too. With a groan, he sat up in bed, now noting that the sun had rose, filtering through his curtains without his permission and audaciously illuminating his room. Though it was beautiful, he wasn't ready yet, not for morning that had already swept across the land and he wasn't ready, not when it came on to facing his father. He wasn't sure what the future holds, but he was adamant on trying, just like his mother did. If he failed, then he failed and if he succeeded then perhaps happiness would finally be his. Shuffling to the edge of the bed, he hopped off, trudging to the bathroom where he

"Kellen, come here!"The five year old boy looked over at his mother, eyes sharp. "No, I told you, I want this." He pointed to the pack of Oreos on the shelf. "And I'm not leaving this supermarket without it."Lexie shrugged, grasping the handle of her trolley. "Alright then, stay here then. I'd be happy to leave a naughty boy like you behind."Kellen's lips curled into a frown, eyes becoming glossy. "But momm—""My answer's final Kellen, you're not getting it."Lexie shoved the trolley pass her son, leaving him to stare watery at her back. He sighed, rubbing his hands in his jeans as his eyes darted over to his father who stood beside him. "Daddy...?"Zheme looked down at him then at the pack of Oreos. "Mommy said you're not getting it." He informed, watching as his boy groaned out in frustration before speaking again. "But daddy didn't say so did he?"Kellen's frown stretched its way into a grin when his father grabbed

"Push!"With a loud groan, Lexie did as told, tears running like a river down her cheeks. It hurts, the pain was more than just prominent, so immense that it had her weak legs shaking. She didn't know what to do, all she was told was to push whenever she felt a contraction, but that was hard considering the relentless pain each contraction brought along with it.She tried though, she was trying so hard for her baby boy. What if something happens to him?He was premature and that fact only proved to worry her more, for premature babies were sometimes born with a disability. She didn't want that for her child, she wanted him healthy and fit, though if he was born with a disability, she'd love him the same.A sudden cry edged her lips when another contraction was bestowed upon her, each lasted a minute and this time, she'd use the minute well. She pushed; hard, hands clutching the sheets, teeth gritted. She could feel it, the head j

Lexie's eyes fluttered open, bringing her out of a world of darkness and into one of light. She had fallen asleep on the couch last night, eating ice cream and watching 'friends'. But it seems even after complaining that he wouldn't, Zheme had lifted her and brought her here.Such a sweetheart he was, the perfect husband and yet everyday she found something new to taunt him with.Yesterday, she had taken his slippers, knowing well enough that hers were too small to fit him and today, she was going to confiscate his computer or rather hide it.With an evil smile, she threw his arm from around her protruding stomach and shuffled off of the bed. His computer was kept in his office when it wasn't in use and that's exactly where her steps took her.She twisted the door knob, wasting no time to push the big, rectangular board open and as she stepped inside, her eyes sought for it.On his desk, she found it, seated perfectly amongst mul

Lexie padded to the couch and with a heavy sigh, she took a seat beside Zheme. After the marriage, they had started off clean, the past was put behind them and what laid before them now was the present and the future. They had left the house behind too and had moved to a different one, one more modern and one in which they've already started their new life.Lexie was almost eight months pregnant now, her stomach blown as big as a floating balloon and Zheme only made matters worst by constantly calling her a pig. Not because she was fat, but because she ate a lot. Around the clock she'd be stuffing her face and when she wasn't doing that, she was either tormenting Zheme or painting. Now though was one of the times she felt the need to perplex her husband. He had been doing office work since morning and though he still looked after her, Lexie wanted to feel more important than the computer that sat in his lap.So she hauled the thing from him, placi

Lexie wiped at her eyes, crawling closer to him until her head rested against his shoulder. "I just want you. I'm sorry, I won't do it again, just... Just please hold me...please."Sighing again, Zheme leaned away from her. This girl truly knew what to do to drive a nail in a man's heart. She made him feel guilty, but her plead for him made his thick length even harder. He wanted her too, so god damn much. He could feel the desperation, the immensity of his need and it wouldn't hurt to finally feed his desire.Without much thought, a finger of his slithered its way under her chin, steadying her face so that her teary eyes resided on him. "I'll hold you Kitten, just promise not to do that again, you should be patient, don't I always satisfy you in the end?"Lexie nodded. "Yes, always but are you going to do that now? Satisfy me.""Only if you promise to sometimes wait."Lexie held up her pinky, handing it to Zheme. "I promise."

"Entertain...?" Lexie questioned, following Zheme up the unfamiliar wooden stairs. "What do you mean by entertain?" "I mean..." Zheme sighed. "You're going to show me exactly what you do in the mornings while I'm asleep."Lexie fumbled with her fingers, eyes watching as he opened up the door to the bedroom. "I can't...I can't possibly show you that, it'd be mortifying.""Then...I can't forgive you either." He stepped into the room, eyes scanning the creativity that laid inside. The room wasn't big but it had all the essentials: a king sized bed decorated with fine sheets and seemingly soft pillows, a nightstand upholding a stylish lamp and decorative items and a built in dresser with a flat screen TV on top and an arm chair beneath it.It also had double doors that lead to a balcony that issued a marvelous view of the sea and a seemingly comfortable couch in the far corner of the room.Zheme grabbed the armchair from beneath the

Who invited him anyway?""I did." Lexie informed."Well in that case, you're the one that deserves this." His left hand loosened the wheels as he issued Lexie a middle finger. "Pocket it nicely.""Pocket it?" Lexie demanded, grabbing at his hand. "How about I do this instead?" From between her lips, her tongue slithered out, slowly circling his finger. "Isn't that much better?"Zheme yanked his hand away from her, wide eyes leaving the road to stare at her. "Did you just...? Why in heaven's name would you lick my finger Lex
