Chapter 58

Adriel leaned back in his chair, a sense of satisfaction washing over him as he gazed out the window of his new office.

The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the city. He had just been appointed as the new chairman, and he couldn't wait to celebrate with Emma.

As he reached to pick his phone on the table, he mistakenly knocked over the glass of drink he was sipping before. It spilled all over, shattering pieces of glass on the floor.

“Damn it! Why do you have to fall now?” Adriel hissed, shifting back so the glass particles would not injure him.

He went back to his call log and dialed her number, but it went straight to voicemail. He frowned, trying again, but still, no answer.

A knot of worry began to form in his stomach.

He stood up from the sofa where he now sat and walked over to the window, his eyes scanning the crowded streets below.

Where could she be? She was supposed to be at the restaurant, closing up shop. He tried calling the restaurant, but no one answe
