Knowing that his brother was about to ruin them all, Anthony stood to his feet and said, "Elijah, how about we do this at home?"
"Home, Nah. We are going to do this here so that everyone can know the kind of hypocrites and betrayals I have as brothers!" Elijah coldly said before sneering.
A slight smirk surfaced on Rome's face, but his expression quickly became straight when Catherine took his hand in hers.
Staring at her, Rome saw a touch of anxiety in her eyes, and he squeezed her hand and mumbled, "It's going to be fine."
Although Catherine was nervous about what her uncle's behavior was going to cost their family, she smiled faintly, trying to find comfort in his words.
"Look, Elijah! I wasn't the one who set you up!" William calmly said, taking a step back as he tried to create a distance between his brother and him, just in case he became violent again.
"Am I supposed to believe that bullcrap! You suddenly got all my clients when
I sincerely apologize for the days that I missed. I have been suffering from constant margin headaches throughout last month. It was like almost every day I had strong headaches, and I had to take pill to be able to get over the pain and write. It's something that I struggle with a lot. I'm on painkillers , but sometimes, I love to go off the pills and try resting instead. (Just needed to let you all know since the have been a lot of complaints about my poor updates.) The will be more chapters after this one. P.s. I'm bringing the story to closure. Hopefully before the end of next week.
A while later, Rome drove the car into the parking lot of Skyhigh restaurant. Then he and Catherine got down from the vehicle.Afterward, they headed into the skyscraper in front of them, and when Rome and Catherine got into the lobby, they approached the counter. After the hostess had given them her full attention, Catherine gently uttered, "Hello, we are suppose to meet up with Mr. Ford here. Has he arrived?""Of course. Please, please come with me." The hostess humbly said, leaving from behind the counter. Then she escorted Rome and Catherine into the elevator and pressed button eighteen.A few minutes later, the elevator came to a stop, and its door opened. Then Catherine, the hostess, and Rome walked out into the hallway. It took a while, but they finally arrived in a room with a transparent roof which caused the place to be filled with natural light."Excuse me." The hostess said before turning around and walking out of th
At seven o'clock the next morning, Catherine and Rome came downstairs, and the moment, they walked into the dining room, Madam Rosey rushed over to her granddaughter and hugged her affectionately. After letting Catherine go, she smiled brightly and said, "Thank you, dear." Feeling shocked, Catherine stared at her grandfather, and when he smiled at her, she felt even more confused. "No news about the event that took place at yesterday's conference has been published. It's like nothing happened." Mr. Barlow said as he stood from his seat. Then he approached Catherine, showed her his phone screen, and said, "But apparently, a reporter spotted you, Rome, and Mr. Ford leaving Skyhigh restaurant together. A photo of you guys was taken, and now, it's all every media is reporting on." "The amazing last granddaughter of the Barlow family is spreading her wings in the business world, and she was spotted along with her husband, leaving Skyhigh rest
By ten o'clock, a gold duster came to a stop in front of Bluelight restaurant, and Rome got down from the car. Then he adjusted his cap before heading into the building with K walking a few distances behind him. When Rome arrived inside, the only ones there were the staffs, Brook, Scar, and Blaze since he had booked the entire restaurant."Good morning, boss!" The three of them said in unison when he came closer to them. After Rome took a seat at the table, it didn't take long for the restaurant door to open and Mr. Davis walked inside.Noticing the hostile atmosphere, Mr. Davis humbly approached the table, avoiding meeting K, Scar, Brook, and Blaze's eyes. Then he took a seat, looked at Rome, and said, "I came as you asked."Without uttering a word, Rome took out his phone from his pocket, rested it flat on the table, and clicked on his gallery icon.As he scrolled through his photos, Mr. Davis kept his eyes focused sole
When the early light of the sunrise beamed on Catherine's face, she turned to the right, resting her head on Rome's chest. Then she slowly raised her lashes and deeply sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed. At that moment, she felt Rome's fingers caressing her hair as his voice echoed into her ear, "What's troubling you?" "Today is the board meeting, and I just feel like I should let Richard have the position," Catherine mumbled, snuggling further into Rome's arm. "I see. You have allowed Jeff to get in your head." "Umm…" Shifting in another position, Catherine rested her chin on Rome's chest and met his eyes. Then she pouted and mumbled, "What do you mean?" "It's called mind game. He is playing on your emotions to get you to willingly lose." Rome softly said. "I know, but…" "You are so close to gaining it all. Do you really want to quit?" "No," Smiling, he tapped his finger
When the realization that Catherine might not be faking settled in, Mr. Barlow rushed out of the room. A looked of worry cloud Richard's eyes as he watched the door shut closed behind his grandfather. Then he swayed his attention to the coffee mug, sitting on the table. A sense of relief coursed through Mr. Barlow when he caught up with Rome and Catherine at the elevator. "We should take her home, and I will call doctor Len to attend to her." Mr. Barlow said as the door open. Ignoring him, Rome walked into the elevator, and even though he was annoyed by Rome's attitude, Mr. Barlow followed him inside. After the door closed, Rome looked at him and said, "I'm taking my wife to the hospital."
At six o'clock, Mr. Barlow's limousine drove into the yard, and just a few distances behind it was Catherine's Sedan. Both cars came to a stop in the garage, and Rome got down from the Sedan. Then Mr. Barlow and Catherine got out of his limousine. Afterward, they headed into the mansion, and Mr. Barlow went into the living room while Rome escorted Catherine upstairs to their bedroom. When Richard's gaze met with his grandfather's eyes, he felt his heart missed a beat as Mr. Barlow walked directly to him, and then he stopped a step away from Richard. "Why did you take the mug?" Mr. Barlow coldly asked in a fit of anger. "What mug?" Richard nervously mumbled. "Don't play stupid with me!" "I don't know what you are talking about grandfather!" Everyone else in the room looked confused about Mr. Barlow's words, and giving in to her curiosity, Madam Rosey asked, "What are you talking about?" "Catherine got
After gazing at everyone's faces, Mr. Barlow firmly said, "I have finally come to the decision that Catherine will be the family's top inheritor."The dining room fell silent, and even though no one was shocked about Mr. Barlow's announcement, only a few people felt happy about the news, and that was Madam Rosey, Edward, Catherine's mother, Mr. Barlow, and Rome.Although Catherine wanted to feel happy, she was still processing the reality that she had just gotten what she always wanted."Richard will be revoked from Elijah's position, and Catherine will take his seat among the board of directors." Mr. Barlow calmly uttered, glaring at his grandson. After a few seconds of staring coldly at Richard, he looked at Catherine and said, "I will call Mr. Quincy tonight and have him get all the legal documents ready. Hopefully by tomorrow we can make it official.".Finally, reality settled in, and Catherine felt an overwhelming feeling of excitement c
There was a knock on the front door of the Barlow's mansion, and when Susanna opened it, she questionably stared at an older-looking gentleman standing on the balcony."Good morning, I'm here to pick up Miss Catherine." The fellow said with a gentle smile."Okay, but how should I address you when I'm passing the message on?" Susanna asked."Tell her that I'm Romney, one of Mr. Ford drivers, and he sent me to pick her up and take her to the conference.""Okay, please wait here."After shutting the door, Susanna walked away, heading upstairs, and when she got to the last stair, she bumped into Jeff."I am so sorry," Susanna hastily said."Why are you in a rush!" Jeff lashed out in annoyance."Well, Mr. Ford sent someone to pick Miss Catherine up, and I'm on my way to tell her. I'm sorry again.""Hmm,"Walking past her, Jeff frowned as he thought, 'Catherine isn't taking her Sedan,' Then he pu
Book three title: The son of a billionaire in Disguise.Ongoing now, exclusively on goodnovel.PreviewThe moment Catherine entered the kitchen and saw Parblo with the other servant, she forgot that she was hungry and rushed out of the room, hurrying for Rome's study. As she approached the stairs, Logan was coming down, and the two locked eyes. She could see the worry in his gaze, and Catherine blurted out, "Is he here?""Yes, ma'am. But I don't think you should go in there just yet." Logan hesitated. "He's planning on staying at the Rossi, and knows the relationship between Master and him-""Rome is going to be infuriated." "Yes. I think it's best you let them talk it out as father and son and try to give them some space for now," Logan suggested, his tone carrying a mix of concern and caution.Catherine nodded, her own worry deepening. "I understand. But if things get out of hand..."Logan took a step back, giving Catherine space, stepping aside, and she gave him a faint smile befor
By Monday, "Living as a billionaire" will get marked as "completed." But I have scanned through all of the comments and reviews. I remember telling my sister that "Living as a billionaire," will be the end of Rome and Catherine's story. But you guys have given me a change of mind, and right now, I can't tell you all that there is a solid idea for book three because my brain is focused on another novel I'm writing which is not in the same genre as, "Living as a billionaire." I write a bunch of random, messy up ideas, so my stories usually fall into different categories and audiences. Back to what I was saying, Mmmh, so yeah, that novel has my attention right now. But if Book three is something any of you will want to read, then please keep "Living as a billionaire" bookmark, and I will be back with a new announcement concerning Book three name and release date. Hopefully, it will be soon, but my hands are filled right now, and I don't w
*I don't even know where to start! Umm… My brain feels like a marshmallow. I slept for hours after updating the remaining chapters. But I am just so freaking happy for all the comments and the review I woke up to. *Book two wasn't a stable plan, and I had barely a paragraph for the entire book plot which was scary from the very beginning. So, seeing how far this book came and hearing you guys say that you like it, makes me speechless in a good way. *I am this crazy overthinking person, and if it was left with me, I would have assumed "Living as a billionaire" as the worst and given up on it. But you guys, you all made this book happen with the constant comments, gems, reviews, and purchases of the chapters. *Usually,
Pushing her hair behind her ear, Catherine smiled broadly. Then she looked to stare upward into Rome's eyes when he hugged her from the back."Look who's tummy is getting bigger," Rome whispered as his manly hands gently rested on her stomach."I can't believe he's already spent twelve-week in my stomach," Catherine whispered, gazing at her reflection in the mirror."He? Our baby is a she. Daddy little princess." Rome softly uttered. At first, Catherine pouted a bit. Then she chuckled and mumbled, "Should we do one of those fancy babies' gender reveal parties because at this point everyone seems to have their opinions about our baby's gender."As Rome
The moment the sunlight hit his face, Rome's hand searched his bed for his phone as he slowly raised his eyelids, and then blinked his eyelashes to adjust his vision to the bright light glowing in their room.Once he got a hold of his phone, he sat up in bed and unlocked it, then a frown settled on his lip as he stared at the fifteen missed calls notifications on his screen."Why is this Mathew guy calling back to back so early!" Rome mumbled.Sighing heavily, he called back, patiently waited, and after a few seconds, he said, “Good Morning, Mathew."“Good morning, Mr. Ford. I'm calling to find out if you are ready to cooperate with us today, or should we do this with force?"
After bringing his car to a stop in front of the St Louis Cardinals hospital, Rome pushed the door open and raced into the building. When he got to the waiting room, Amara was pacing back and forth with a look of fear in her eyes and plaster on her arm.The moment she saw Rome, she rushed to him and cried out, "My blood is not compatible with his. You have to help him out, please!!!""How are Axel and I related?!" Rome lashed out, unable to contain his anger and eagerness for the truth."He's your first cousin, Rome! Your uncle's first son! Mr. Ford's oldest brother's child! And also, my father's firstborn.""You are lying!"
The atmosphere quickly became hostile, and no one dared to move or utter a word as K clutched onto his side while choking on his blood."What the hell have you done!" Rome screamed, finally getting over his shock and realizing that his bodyguard had just taken a bullet to the stomach for him.Ignoring his remark, Axel fixed his cold gaze directly on Rome's angry expression. Then he frowned at Rome with the gun pointed directly at him and calmly said, "It's time to be your father's payment for redemption."Abruptly, the sudden sound of a silver vehicle speeding into the parking lot drew everyone's attention, and before Axel could get out of the way, the car bumped into him, sending him a few feet forward before he fell over to the floor.
A loud knock echoed into Axel's room, forcing him to leave his bed and walked over to the door. When he opened it, Axel scowled at his man and gazed the other way before walking back inside. “Boss, there's a problem,” Hunan said as he followed his boss further into the room. “What's the problem?” Axel mumbled, taking in a deep breath to ignore the anger he felt. When Hunan's gaze met his cold eyes, the room fell silent, and the atmosphere became awkward. Then he coughed slightly, stared away from Axel, and said, "I just got word that Richard went over to the safe house this morning." "What! How could they let him inside!... Who let him inside!" Axel roughly said, squeezing his fist. "I don't know, boss. He came demanding to talk face to face with you and refused to leave." Hunan mumbled, keeping his gaze glued to the f
I am working on the last chapters. The next time I updated, it will be the complete chapters to end the story. I will be releasing it tomorrow. I am doing editing and some finishing touches. I can not believe this is happening, but yeah, "Living as a billionaire" ends tomorrow. There are still a few more plots to cover, so I might release the chapters lately tomorrow. But there is no excuse or another date. We are closing this book tomorrow, and I'm so freaking grateful to everyone who has been on this journey with me from book one. Anyways, catch you all tomorrow for the finale! Sincerely, Author Rever.
