Oliver

I really did, and I fondly remembered when Eloá was just a baby and all the moments I had with my little one. Every stage is important and rewarding, as Brian well put it.

"Charlotte spent time with Nicole this week," I paid attention to Brian's information. "Is everything alright between you two?"

"I feel like it's not," I confessed, holding my head with both hands and letting out a tired sigh. "Did Charlotte say something to you?"

I could deny it and say everything is perfectly fine between us, but I'd be lying. Nicole has been acting strange, and despite her attempt to pretend everything is fine, I can sense that something is bothering her, and she doesn't want to talk to me about it.

"She didn't tell me anything, but I noticed she seemed worried since the meeting with Emily and Nicole," Brian said.

"Despite my family's latest attempt to sabotage my relationship with Emily, we're doing fine, and I'm sure if there's something going on, she'll tell me," Douglas reaffirmed. He

NicoleThe weekend with Oliver and Eloá was wonderful. We rode bikes, hiked through wildlife-filled parks, visited some tourist spots like lighthouses and even went on a quick boat tour. It was two very busy days, and when we returned to the hotel at night, Eloá was tired enough to sleep early, which gave us some moments alone.I felt more energized and at ease when we returned to New York on Monday morning, and that pleasant mood lasted for almost the entire week. It made me feel more like the old Nicole, just living in the moment without constantly worrying about problems that we still don't have solutions for.On Friday, after class, Oliver and Eloá were there to pick me up to have ice cream, and we ended up arriving at the building later than usual, around 7 PM.

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   An Unpleasant Encounter

EmilyThe weekend with Douglas's family in the Hamptons was as terrible as I had imagined, but I managed to survive. Douglas didn't leave my side for a single minute, despite all his family's attempts to keep him away from me and leave me defenseless—or at least, that's what I believe they think of me. It's not entirely untrue, after all, I don't want to get into a conflict with my future in-laws, even though they are unbearably snobbish."I have something that might cheer you up," Douglas had mentioned when we were alone in his room at the Hamptons' house. "As you witnessed yourself during the past year, Mom and Nora tend to spend most of the year traveling, except for the summer when they spend more time in the city.""Not exactly in New York," I added, "but I get what you mean."

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Shared Custody

OliverI needed all my composure to deal with Martina once again. It's always difficult to face the woman who carried a baby for nine months in her womb, yet turned out to be the horrible person she showed herself to be over the years, and I was the only one who didn't see it. It's something I haven't been able to overcome yet. I seriously consider seeking therapy to handle everything that involved my marriage to that "shrew," as Nicole often calls her when she thinks I'm not listening.I've overheard snippets of conversations between Nicole, Charlotte, and Emily where they all refer to my ex-wife as a shrew, and I completely agree with them. I just try to avoid bringing up the subject in my relationship with Nicole because I notice how deeply upset she gets when we talk about it."Darling, I've missed you so much," Martina

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Searching for Solutions

NicoleTo avoid further problems with Martina, I chose to stay in Eloá's room after the little one left with her father. I imagine that my little girl's sad face mirrored my own, as seeing her like that broke my heart."They've already left," Oliver announced, entering the room and sitting next to me on the arm of the armchair."I don't trust Martina," I vented what had been stuck in my throat for too long. "She's mean.""I don't trust her either, but I hope nothing bad happens to my daughter, because I'm not sure what I'm capable of doing."Oliver's face was stern, in a way I had never seen before, and his jaw was clenched, with a vein bulging in his neck. I could imagine how hard it was for him to keep his emotions under con

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Irresponsible and Selfish

NicoleMeeting Thomas alone would be a big test for my sister, and only then could she determine if any remnants of the great love she once felt for him still existed. And once again, I find myself very concerned, as besides Douglas being a man completely in love with Emily, Thomas has shown what he is capable of and that he cannot be trusted."I prefer to talk to the lawyer first," Emily explained, and I admired her wisdom. "I don't want to make any mistakes; I need to know my rights, as well as my ex-husband's rights.""I would like to accompany her to that meeting, but Emily doesn't think it's a good idea," Douglas revealed.“I agree with Emily," Oliver chimed in. "This could create some kind of male rivalry and make the process more difficult. But I recom

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Hospital

EmilyDouglas was laughing again, and I couldn't pretend that everything was fine anymore. Because it really wasn't!"Alright! You win," I said defeated. "You and your 'best friend' Rochelle...""Yes?" Douglas put his hands next to his ears to imply that he was listening attentively."Did you two ever date?"Douglas shook his head negatively but didn't say anything."Did you hook up then?" I tried again.Again, just a negative gesture."A little kiss or something?" I insisted, not giving up.Again, a negative response."Cat got your tongue, Douglas?" I asked, no longer hiding my irritation. "Why don't you speak!?"Douglas looked around and with a dramatic sigh, he leaned in closer to my ear and spoke softly enough to be heard only by me."Because I'd like to answer in a much more interesting way," he whispered, sending shivers down my spine. "But I don't need privacy for that.""And since when is privacy necessary to answer a simple 'yes' or 'no,' Douglas?"I really couldn't understan

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Testing My Limits

OliverWhen Emily and Douglas told me what had just happened to my daughter, I felt like the ground was slipping from under my feet. How can someone be so careless as to not pay attention to their own child while the nanny goes to the bathroom? Just a few minutes, for God's sake! Can't Martina take care of her own seven-year-old child for just a few minutes? It's inconceivable how Martina simply doesn't care and seems to have no love for a child who came from her own womb. Once again, I feel like the worst of creatures as I take my share of the blame in this story. When I arrived at the hospital, my chest ached from the anguish of knowing what could have happened to Eloá if other people hadn't intervened for my daughter."Where is my daughter?" I wasted no time asking. We

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   My Troubles

NicoleSeizing a moment of distraction from Oliver, I hurriedly left the waiting room. I couldn't feel at ease knowing that I might cause any trouble for him, so I chose to leave before he completely lost control and ended up arguing with Martina, something I sensed was about to happen.Martina didn't want to be near her daughter, and the biggest proof of that fact is that she preferred leaving Eloá under the care of the nanny until the moment she realized that Oliver and I would be together with our little girl. At that moment, she quickly changed her mind, probably with the sole purpose of having some alone time with her ex-husband.Even though I'm consumed by jealousy, I need to accept whatever may happen, even if it means Oliver will take Martina back, despite all she has done.

Charlotte I arrived home earlier that night because one of the professors, the one who was supposed to teach the last class of the day, had to cancel due to a sudden personal issue, and there was no time for a replacement, so the whole class was dismissed at the last minute. I didn't bother calling Brian to let him know about the unexpected change, and that I would be home earlier because I was so tired that I thought it would be better to take a taxi than wait for the driver to pick me up at the university, where I was currently taking my administration course. But I found it quite strange that everything seemed so quiet, even though it was still relatively early, and considering there were three children at home who didn't usually go to bed early at all. I was genuinely fearful. I went to the spacious living room of t

Ramona felt a tightness in her heart as she watched the church where her son Douglas's wedding would take place. It was a moment of joy and celebration, but also a painful reminder of the distance between them. Even though she hadn't received an invitation to the ceremony, she decided to go and confront her own mistakes. With courage and determination in her heart, Ramona went to the church where the wedding would be held. She dressed modestly, her face marked by sadness and hope for a possible reconciliation. She arrived before the bride's entrance, taking the opportunity to approach her son. Upon seeing Douglas, nervous and anxious, Ramona felt a mixture of love and regret overflowing in her chest. She approached him, seeking a moment alone before the ceremony. "Douglas, my son, may I speak with you for a

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Exquisiteness and revenge

OliverIt was one of those gala nights in New York City, where high society gathered to celebrate, socialize, and, of course, show off. Nicole and I found ourselves at yet another one of these grand events, and she looked absolutely stunning that night. On that evening, Nicole shone like never before. Her elegant and sophisticated black dress accentuated her graceful figure, while her hair cascaded in perfectly arranged waves around her shoulders. Her confidence was soaring, and I could see it in her demeanor, her smile, in every graceful gesture she made.We were surrounded by familiar and unfamiliar faces, all dressed in expensive attire and watchful eyes. I couldn't help but feel incredibly lucky to be by Nicole's side. She had come a long way since we first met, and the confidence she exuded that night was a testament t

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Special Request

OliverAfter putting Eloá to bed, I sat down next to Nicole, eager to hear what she had to say. It was a moment of honesty and confession, and I was determined to listen to every word attentively.Nicole sighed and looked deeply into my eyes. I could see the sincerity in her gaze, mixed with a hint of regret.“Oliver, I know I've made a lot of mistakes and was very immature when I ended our relationship. I acted impulsively, letting my fears and insecurities get the best of me. I deeply regret hurting you and throwing away something so special that we had.”I held your hands, conveying support and encouragement. I wanted her to know that I was willing to listen to her and give our love a chance."Nicole, I understa

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Reconciliation and Happiness

DouglasEmily and Charlotte awaited us in the apartment, but after all the emotions of the reunion between them and Nicole, as well as the immense happiness we all felt seeing them safe, it was clear that Eloá and Nicole needed rest. The doctors had attended to them at the cabin, but they were undoubtedly worn out and tired."I think it's best to leave you all alone," Charlotte said, exactly what I was thinking. "In fact, we all need some rest after everything that's happened in the past few days.""You're right, my love," Brian gazed at his wife with remarkable devotion. "Let's head back to our homes.""I suggest a dinner at my place to celebrate life," Emily suggested, and I believe my expression matched Brian's when I looked at my fiancée. "What do you think?"

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Fear and Hope

NicoleAt the moment one of the men hired by Martina pushed me abruptly into an isolated and unknown cabin, where it was clear that I would have no access to any help, terror overcame me. However, I maintained a facade of calm, avoiding causing panic in my young daughter. I gripped Eloá's hand firmly, and we were roughly led through some dimly lit rooms until we stood in front of a closed door. At that moment, several terrifying scenarios flooded my mind."Go in," the man ordered, opening the door and pointing to the interior of the room. Fear grew, and I felt my body tremble. Although the thought of inquiring about Martina's whereabouts and appealing to reason, given that Eloá was her daughter, crossed my mind, I chose not to. Once again, I was determined not to reveal the concern I felt to my daughter."Nicole, I'm scared," Eloá murmured as she hugged me tightly. Her body was trembling, or perhaps it was my own tremor affecting me, but I tried to calm her, even though I didn't know

  • A Baby Sitter's Love    They are safe

OliverBrian rushed into the room. He had returned to his apartment with Charlotte, as we had decided to take turns during the night, which had been too long for me. I had only managed to get two hours of sleep, exhausted from worry."What happened?" Douglas was the first to ask. Douglas had also managed to get some sleep, and now, it was almost six in the morning, and we were all on alert once again."The location indicated by Charlotte's phone led the police team to an abandoned house a few kilometers north of New York," he said with clear frustration."I admit I was expecting something like this," I said with a sense of discouragement. "Martina is doing well in keeping her hideout hidden from us."I resumed pacing back and forth in the room, feeling helpless."Can I speak to you privately, Oliver?"I found Brian's request strange, but I followed him out of my apartment."The investigator believes there are cameras in your apartment," Brian revealed. "Martina isn't that clever, and

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Settling Scores

OliverAs I anxiously awaited any clue that could lead me to Eloá and Nicole, the feeling of helplessness in the face of the situation was overwhelming. I needed to act quickly and find my daughter and my wife before something very bad happened.I'm sitting on the couch now, restless, while my friends Brian and Douglas try to calm me down. They understand my distress and are doing everything they can to help. In the meantime, I'm constantly looking at my phone, waiting for any news about Eloá.The hired private investigators are working hard to find clues about the whereabouts of Nicole and Eloá. They are investigating possible locations where Martina might be hiding and reaching out to people who might have relevant information. The police are also involved

  • A Baby Sitter's Love   Shadow of Revenge

OliverI returned from the bedroom feeling more confident and calmer. The sheriff wasn't around anymore, but Brian assured me he would stay in touch about any updates in the case. That didn't make me feel at ease, of course. I won't be able to feel that until my daughter is with me. However, I can think more rationally now. Arguing with the police won't get us anywhere."Charlotte?" I asked, noticing that she wasn't among them anymore."She had to go back home," Brian explained. "The babies still need a lot of her attention. But I'll keep her informed."While Brian took charge of staying in constant contact with the police and private investigators, Douglas was scouring the internet for any information that could help us find Martina.Even with the certainty that the police were also committed to the case, I knew I couldn't rely solely on the authorities. Martina had proven to be cunning in the past, and I feared she would be capable of doing anything to harm me and hurt my daughter.
