EPISODE TWO.

"You dare go against me Anderson?? " King Alfred roared and the entire throne room became silent again..

"I don't dare go against your father but the Duke speaks such blasphemy and the crown prince sits back and watches." Prince Anderson to be fierce and have never backed out from an argument.

"That's preposterous your Highness!" The Duke stepped forward again and this time King Alfred couldn't take it anymore...

"That's enough! How dare you show disrespect Infront of the King?" King Alfred was furious and his voice resonated in the four walls of the palace..

"Forgive me your Majesty." The Duke swallowed his grievance and bowed down to the king.

"Forgive me Father." Prince Ander also bowed his head slightly and raised his head to stare at the count Duke who seemed to be insisting on letting the princess marry a beast..

"I summoned you all here to put an end to a war and not have you at each other's throats." King Alfred was known to be dangerous when angered..

Queen Marisa kept a cold face in front of the council but deep down she supported her son for Defending his sister...

"It's been decided. Princess Rosalia of Assyria would marry the second Prince of the Valerian empire as soon as and that's final." The King passed his judgment and the council was thrown into a frenzy..

"But father-" Prince Ander tried to speak but swallowed back what he wanted to say when he saw the look in his sister's eyes..

Lia has been trying to look okay but unfortunately she couldn't keep up the brave act anymore..

She suddenly stood up and ran outta the throne room ignoring the calls of his brother and mother..

She lifted her dress up which was not to be done as a princess but she didn't care about any of that.

She just wanna get away from those selfish people who wouldn't think twice before sacrificing her.. it seems they were all in a hurry to hand her to the wolves to save themselves.

She ran into her room and Locked herself in to avoid anyone getting in..

She sat down beside her bed and let it all out..

Is this gonna be the end of her once beautiful life?

"Lia!" Prince Ander banged on her door but she wouldn't open up..

When she ran outta the throne room he was worried she might hurt herself so he came after her..

"Leave me alone!"she spoke amidst tears..

"Please open the door Lia let's talk okay?" Prince Anderson might be very cold on the outside but he genuinely cared about his baby sister more than anything in the world..

He loves his sister so much, he never let get hurt until now.

"I want to be left alone, Ander." She buried her face on the bed and cried her eyes out.

"Don't shut us out Lia, please talk to us dear." Queen Marisa also came to her room but she was determined to shut everyone out..

She wanted to be left alone to manage her emotions.

"Lia!" Ander called out one more.. she could hear the pain in his voice as he called out her name..

"It's fine if you wanna be left alone but please don't do anything stupid okay? "Anderson figured she needed space..

"And Ander do you think she'll be okay?" Queen Marisa asked with a worried expression and he heaved a sigh.

He nodded and took the queen's hand and walked her towards the queen's chamber..

Lia heaved a sigh when she couldn't hear the footsteps anymore..

She closed her eyes and stayed that way when Heard her maiden's voice..

"Your Highness, it's me Karen." Her handmaiden is also worried The princess might do something drastic again..

The King has ordered the guards to tighten the security around the palace and her chamber to prevent her from running away..

Lia stood up and opened the door for her handmaiden..

"Your Highness." Karen closed the doors behind her and hugged the princess who burst into tears in her arms..

"I don't wanna live anymore, Karen!" Lia lamented bitterly and hid her face in Karen's chest..

Karen was at a loss of what to do to calm the princess..

"Do not speak of such evil words your Highness." Karen warns the princess and leads her to the queen sized bed..

"Why does it have to be me huh?" Lia was yet to accept reality when the news had already spread throughout the kingdom and there was no way around it..

"You're doing the kingdom a great deal and you would be remembered throughout history as the princess who single handedly saved Assyria by Marrying the second Prince of the Valerian empire." Karen further encouraged the princess with her words and Lia slowly stopped crying..

"You think so? What if the wolves decided to go back on their words?" Lia asked softly and Karen wiped off her tears with her thumb and cupped her face gently.

"Well according to the old books in the royal library, Wolves are creatures who don't go back on their vows because a vow is said to be sacred to them so you have nothing to worry about. They promised to treat you well and give you human servants." Karen said the little information she learned from the Queen.

Karen paused to examine the Princess's expression before she continued..

"Do you know Wolves only get Married to their Mates? Can you please stop overthinking and just relax okay? For all I know King Rigan Probably got your father the King to agree to the alliance because the prince wants to sire an heir. If that's the case then I can assure you, your Highness, that you'll be just fine." Karen knew a little bit about wolves thanks to the Queen.

Queen Marisa was worried about the princess so she passed on a few messages to the handmaiden to the princess because it is known to everyone in the palace how much the princess loves her handmaiden.

Lia had stopped crying but still looked sad because she didn't wanna be in a loveless marriage with a beast.

"I feel much better now, thank you Karen." Lia heaved a sigh and smiled at her handmaiden.

"I'm glad you're okay. Do you wanna take a bath first?" Karen asked and Lia nodded slowly..

Karen clapped her hands and two maids rushed inside the room immediately..

They bowed slightly at the princess and the handmaiden before heading over to prepare a bath for the princess..

The princess loves soaking herself inside rose water so they made sure to make it a bit special.

Lia stood Infront of the mirror and the maids began taking off her dress one after the other till she was left with only her garment.

"Thank you." Lia smiled at the servants and removed the last piece of clothing on her body , letting it fall to her feet before stepping into the tub and her tensed muscle relaxed immediately.

After spending some time in the bath, she stepped outta the water and covered herself properly before walking back to her room to get dressed but once she got to her room she realized that all her maids were waiting for her and a gem Stones embroidered dress was held onto by her Handmaiden.

"What's the dress for?" She asked with a confused expression because she wasn't expecting it to be that soon..

"The King has ordered us to dress you up quickly and escort you to the ballroom, your Highness." Karen explained and Her heart skipped a beat..

She couldn't believe her father had already planned everything out and was only waiting for the council's verdict..

There was no point crying over spilled milk when her fate had already been decided..

"Okay." She managed to say and she was led to the vanity mirror and her maid began to style her hair while another was making sure she looks okay for a groom.

She heaved a sigh as she stared at her reflection in the mirror as she thought about everything her handmaiden had told and she seems to calm down a bit after thinking of the fact that Wolves might actually not hurt her because of the vow they had made..

Once the maids were done with styling her hair, they helped her into her wedding dress .

If it were a normal circumstance she would have truly admired the dress but unfortunately she couldn't stop for a moment to admire the dress when she's about to be thrown into the lion's den..

"We're ready, your Highness." Karen informed the princess who seemed lost in thoughts..

Lia nodded but didn't move an inch away from the mirror..

The doors to her room were pulled open and the Queen alongside Prince Ander walked towards her with a butt face..

They were equally heartbroken but couldn't help the situation..

"It's time to leave Lia, your groom is here."
