Ryan's POV

I heaved a sigh and cleaned the blood from my lips, relieved that the bleeding had finally stopped.

I could now breathe properly, inhale the cool air from the air conditioner. However, I had no interest in discussing mating or living with a she-wolf. I lived my life the way I wanted, without needing anyone to instruct me.

"I didn't come for that, Carter. I can take care of myself. I came to pay you a visit, not to be taught how to live with a she-wolf," I said, growing increasingly irritated. Why was he making it seem like they were important? They weren't worth my time and effort. I had more pressing matters to attend to.

"Just hear me out, Ryan. If you don't learn 66 to live with a female, you won't be able to have an heir–"

"Damnit, I'm not interested anymore. I'll adopt an heir, don't worry about it."

"But you weren't interested in adopting–"

"I've had a change of mind. I'll adopt a son, and that's final."

"Then what about her?"

"Who?" I pretended not to know who he was
