Sebastián tensed slightly but kept his composure.

"For Nicholas," he replied firmly. "Today is his birthday, and I'm going to his party."

Inesa raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. There was something more in her gaze, a spark of jealousy and resentment that she tried to hide.
