The family date with my parents turned out better than I thought. Somehow, they treated Min with some respect, talked, and exchanged contact. I don't think anyone would be calling anyone soon but at least they did it. That counts as something. I walked my parents back to the lobby after they stopped by the apartment to drop Min and me off. They also took in the state of the house and got a slice of my overgrown scone. The couch called out to me when I got to the apartment and I didn't resist its call. I lay on it and was about to sleep but my phone dinged. It was a notification from my group chat with the girls. It had its notification sound. The sound was birds chirping. We talk a lot and when it gets rowdy it sometimes sounds like a bird chirping. I finally opened the group chat and saw everyone tagging me and stating how angry they were that I would decide to run away with my husband and not inform them. June wrote that she was offended that she had to hear it from Min and not fr
I hit the jackpot with Min. He was not only handsome but he had a way with children. The girls were so tired they were snoring slightly. If I was left to do this alone, we would all be crying by now. "Thank you," I said and hugged him. I pecked him and laid my head on his shoulder while I watched in awe how easily he had stepped up and been there for me and played with the girls. Our child was definitely in safe hands with him. I walked towards the girls with a blanket and felt a hard slap on my ass. I gasped and turned to Min. "Don't think I didn't catch you slacking off and not playing with the rest of us," he cautioned and tsked. I carefully walked away from him, I didn't want another of those things. There were kids in the room. We had to be decent. I put the girls in a more comfortable position and covered them with a blanket. I also placed their teddy bears beside them. I am never offering to babysit anyone's child ever again. This was full-time work. How did Agnes do it? She
Running wore me out and immediately I went into the house, I went to sleep. Hunger pulled me out of my sleep the next morning. I brushed my teeth, looked at my sleeping husband, and went downstairs to get food. I went to the kitchen, filled a glass of water, and rummaged through the fridge. I didn't want bread or anything boring. There were fruits, but there were no berries. No strawberries, blueberries, no cherries. How did they expect me to survive? Oh, there's watermelon and grapes. I took the pack of grapes and a slice of watermelon and went to the sink. I placed the pack of grapes on the counter and snacked on the watermelon while I searched for bowls. I found one and went ahead to wash my fruit. I rinsed them and put them in another bowl. Grabbed a bar stool and started eating. Eating alone was boring, I was used to eating with Min but he was asleep and I didn't want to wake him up. I wonder what time he slept. I heard a gasp and looked up to see a maid standing by the kitch
The evening just had to start with an argument. We haven't argued in a while and I do not like the feeling. After I left Min by the door, I walked very slowly so he could catch up to me but he walked past me and left me behind. I grumbled and added steps to my pace and saw him at the door. The waiters held the doors for us. Min held my hand and together we walked into the hall. When we got to our reserved table, he pulled my chair for me and I sat down. He did all these without talking to me which was annoying. Was he going to be petty just because I refused to let him open the door for me? "We can go back to the car and I'll let you open the car door for me," I offered to call a truce but all I got was a look. He didn't even look at me for long. He just stared at me for a while and turned to look at his food. Was the meal better than me? Because in my opinion, he made better meals than this. Maybe I should stop comparing everything to MIn and conclude he was better. I was acting li
"Mei I love you," Min said and held my face. "I love how you smile, how even the little things make you smile. You make it so easy to love you. I have gone to work every day and thought of coming back home immediately to be in your arms. I love your scent and the little whimpers you make when you sleep. I love how you fight for whatever you want. I want to end the contract with you and start all over again and be the husband you want. I also want to learn to be the husband you need. I want to be there through everything. I want you to feel my love until I don't need to say it but you know it. I want to make you my everything. Will you be my everything?" he asked me and I hugged me. "You've been my everything for a while now. I fell in love with you a while ago but I was too scared to tell you. I didn't want to put any sort of pressure on you. I was already trapping you with the contract, I thought confessing my feelings to you would end our contract," I mumbled in between tears. "Th
His going down on his knees should have given me an idea of what he wanted to do but I was still stunned. “I know we are already married but I need to do this. I need to ask you to be mine properly. Going through the whole process and proposing to you. I am asking you to be my wife, to spend eternity with me. To not let you be even if death does is part because I know I’d want you in this life and another. Your parents also do not approve of you not having an engagement ring and I support them. So Mrs. Mei Lee, will you do the honors of agreeing to marry me although you have the choice not to,” Min said and I was so happy. If this was a dream, I want to be in forever. I stretched out my fingers to Min and he put the ring. I stood up and pulled Min into a hug. “Yes, Min I will marry you and be with you in another life. If I leave this life early, I’ll wait for you in another,” I promised and cried into his suit. He rubbed my back and it just felt like home. He was home. He might have
I missed being in the condo with Min but I didn’t want to be here. I wanted to be in Paris and wrapped up in Min but here I was back in Singapore, finally wearing all the clothes I complained that I didn’t get to wear. But since we were back, it was back to business. Min was busy with the restaurant, and his plans to open his restaurants. The girls were also busy with their lives and we barely had time to hang out. I shouldn’t have chickened out of working at the cafe, at least I’ll have something to do with myself. Maybe they’ll let me come back if I beg them continuously. The week ran with everyone being busy except me and I didn’t like that, but at least on Saturday, I went to the hospital we did the weekly check-up. My vitals were good, the baby was growing well and was healthy. I had nothing to worry about. Chemotherapy was also working and I was feeling better. At least I think I am, I don’t know if there’s any difference but the doctor assured me there was. Min had to leave
I had the best evening and I think the girls had an equally wonderful night. They left at eight P.M. Chen stayed a while longer and when Min left the two of us alone, Cheng told me something that hadn't come to my head."Min's birthday is tomorrow,""Tomorrow?" i asked and he nodded. "He barely remembers. His parents died a day after his birthday so it makes him really sad to celebrate. I just wanted to inform you because i had a feeling didn't tell you. I also knew about the contract but tonight proved that he's in love with you and I wish you guys a god marriage," Cheng said and i smiled."What's gogin on? Why are ypu guys looking like you can; have civilized conversaions withiut me?" Min asked walking into the dinning."Because you are the star of the show," I replied."No you are the star of the show and I think it's time for the star to get out of that dress. Hmm Cheng, you have overstayd your welcome. Call me tomorrow, I need to be sure you make it home alive," he said and pulle
